  1. I have not had a HT yet. I was thinking about doing strip with Cooley, Feller, or H&W - in Jan 2010. I am now thinking of doing an FUE HT with feller due to the scar strip HT's leave. I know strip is the way to go for density and I know it is a little retarded to get any HT and spend a decent amount of money doing it just to wear your hair buzzed or short. But, I can live with a Jason Statham head of hair rather than fret about my huge scar peeking through. Although you could just lie and say you got the scar surfing pipeline in hawaii ; ) Does anyone have pics of FUE scar pics buzzed or shaved a year or so out. I want to see if I am going to have a swiss cheese head. I think it would be easier to explain a surfing accident scar (strip HT) rather than a shotgun blast to the head (FUE HT).
  2. Wow, to me that is very good. You must be stoked. I would be if I was you. Gaps? It could be just gel and product making it spikey. Either way, great results that makes a pre-HT like myself more inclined to take the plunge. Curious why you went with strip and not FUE. I plan to do strip cause I need a lot of grafts ; )
  3. jac1971, Thanks for your time and comments all the while still in the healing process from your new HT. I would like to see some before and after pics if you have taken any or have posted any? Good luck on monday with stitches removal and hope Dr. Cooley says you look good. By the way do you have stitches or staples? Because you said stitches and I thought Dr. Cooley used staples? Here are my pics http://www.hairtransplantnetwo...-page.asp?WebID=1478
  4. Hey jac1971, Hope all is well with you and that you aren't going through any pain. Sleep getting any better? So here are a couple of questions that a pre-HT wonders about. 1. What was the straw that broke the camels back for you in regards to finally getting an HT. What doctors did you look at, and how much of the "look" (hairline, density, angle) played a part, or was it the donor scar visability, or was it something else? 2. What level of baldness where you and what did you do to maintain hair (propecia/rogain)? How did you wear you hair? buzzed or did you do like me and have the thicker areas cover balder areas. 3. Sorry to ask, but while in the chair getting the donor strip removed, did it hurt and what did it feel like? Then what happened? Did the stapling process of joining the skin hurt/ feel weird? If you think about it, it is a pretty amazing process. How did it feel to get slits in your head and get hair inserted. 4. Now that you had the HT, does your head/neck feel tight? Does it hurt to lean your head forward? Thanks buddy, hope your are healing and growing hair like a champ!
  5. Don't arch your back too much during climax after a recent HT you might blow out a staple All jokes aside, it is a legit question. We all heal at different rates, not being a doctor and not giving medical advise - but in the medical field. I would hope you would either refrain from any and all strenuous activity (masturbation normally not characterized as strenuous activity) if your a slow healer and/or until staples set, or use discretion to not cause undue trauma to healing donor area. So, go ahead, just be gentle
  6. I am shocked and appalled that no one recommmened profuse masturbation to procure and produce a viable and lush future donor area. There is that doc in southern california that might.....
  7. Thanks jac1971 for the write up. Your story gives me hope and encouragement about doing a HT, especially with Dr. Cooley. I have not had one yet but am planning to do one in Jan or Feb of 2010. I had a consult with Dr. Cooley in August too and I found him and his staff to be very informative and nice. I don't have a hard date set yet. I have been since meandering this forum for over a year, it has been a great tool for me. I was thinking of doing my HT with Dr. Cooley because his location, rep, work, and resume. His consistent work and skill impresses me. He is on a regular basis called world class. How and why did you settle on Dr. Cooley. Which factor did it most for you? I am a little scared. Not of the pain ( ok a little of the pain )& not of the cost. But of the results. I know we all have varying hair characteristics, but my big concerned is with the results. I would rather shave my head then look like an HT mess. I really feel for all the guys over the years who had plug doll hair, not only for the cost financially but also emotionally. I am 35 and have a little more hair than some. Basically it comes down to I have seen some amazing HT's and some horrible ones. That wide spectrum freaks me out. Sorry I am whining, just speaking my delusional 3 am in the morning mind. Well congrats on your HT and I wish you much hair success and a quick full recovery.
  8. and by the way, there is a bunch of good info posted on this forum I have read about revita. Maybe in others threads. I think I read a good post by Pat somehwere.
  9. I use revita and have been using it for about 2 months, it was recommended by Dr. Cooley and staff to me. 1. It is about 28 bucks or so if I remember correctly. I bought it from www.revitashampoostore.com. 2. Stand alone it is a very good shampoo. It leaves your hair super soft and manageable. I actually just read the instructions and they recommend you use a good quality conditioner after shampooing. I don't feel worried about using it too much or it hurting my head...just my wallet ; ) 3. Ketoconazole looks in literature to be better than SELENIUM SULFIDE in treating some scalp conditions, although I don't how it affects DHT / male pattern hair loss, if any. From a ingredients stand point, revita looks good, a mix of multiple ingredients to promote a healthy scalp rather than promote per se hair growth. That is how I feel only from my experience. 4. So does it help with hair growth? I don't know. I use it 3-4 times a week. I use Kendra anti-dandruff shampoo the rest of the time, which works well for me. I did use revita only for two weeks and didn't notice an change. Maybe that wasn't long enough. Is it worth the money? well I quess you'll have to see. For me, norizal products left my hair matted and unmanageable. Well good luck. Hope this helped you a little and I don't think using revita too much will burn a hole in your head.
  10. hey folko, I experienced the same thing too with propecia. I had bad shedding in my widows peak in the month I tried it, which I was told would happen and expected. But for me, It was too noticeable for me so I stopped. It quickly returned to normal baldness ; ) I did notice my hair was a little fuller. I don't take any other meds or potions for hair loss. I am planning on getting an HT with Dr. Cooley probably...in Jan 2010. I did also experience and little tingle in the testes off and on. Nothing major and it didn't bother me or hurt. Another side effect was my sex drive did increase noticably, but hey - preventing hair loss plus viagra in one. Now that's a pill. I do intend to give propecia a proper try after HT. Good luck.
