  1. I concur. Me, myself, favor FUE cause of the scar pattern. period. Crudely said, I would rather have shotgun blast than smiley face. Thats me, and I also plan on having the Jason Statham look later in life... in the 70's . Yeild and coverage of FUE vs FUT are secondary for me. This is with full knowledge of price, yeild, and current limitations of FUE. The way I see it is, if Feller and Shapiro are currently doing FUE.... its being done well and is here to stay until other methods of transplantation or drugs are developed. That being said, if ur wanting to get as close to your former glory as you can, your crazy not to do FUT as of today, mainly cause of price and ease of procedure by the surgeon. If you need ur noggin filled = FUT If you need ur noggin tweaked = FUE Ps. Im going against my own advice and pushing FUE on me as far as I can take it
  2. thanks for the info and comments. The lines I drew were an example, not exact placement or width-length etc. The red line could be higher or lower, bigger or smaller. I was basically asking if it was possible to preform one or many smaller red line HT's without any major complications knowing less extracted would be less implanted. I could live with the smaller scar no matter how jacked up it was....... I mean what else would a hawaiian surfing accident scar look like!!!
  3. Hey all. Another quirky FUT scar question. To be clear of my narcissistic purpose of this topic... I like the results, ease of procedure by Doc, survivability of FU's, amount of FU's to be taken, and the cost of FUT. I do not like the scar (smiley face) left by FUT even by the most elite of surgeons....only because I dont know how bald I will be at 50 or 60 and I plan to have the option of buzzing my head in my older years ( again totally narcissistic! ) . This is the only reason I have even considered FUE, due to the different more exceptable scar to me. But I realize the pain in the ass FUE must be for Docs to preform, the cost, and limitations of FUE...but it is still an option on the table for me. By the way I have had no work done yet and this will be my 1st HT. Obviously current HT techniques have evovled and been refined over the past years and continue to do so. There must be a reason the ear to ear strip is used. Again probably due to laxity, variance of FU's, and limited area that the known unknown safe zones are in. SO HERE IS MY narcissistic question. Can a surgeon and will any surgeon preform an FUT HT according to the red line - Not the yellow smiley face line in the pic provided? Will they? can they? And what are the pro's and con's? Besides less yield and probably having to do mulitple HT's more so than normal higher yield HT? By the way - I have a bush on the back and squat in the front
  4. I am impressed by Dr. Charles. Even if his best work is posted here, his hairlines look really good. If I wasn't checking into FUE, Dr. Charles would be one on the top considered on my list. I am surprised you are having a time getting in contact with him, he seems to have a good bedside manner and frequently is commenting on posts around the forum.
  5. These results are very impressive. Congrats to Dr. Bijan Feriduni for this procedure. I bet the patient is really happy. One question I do have would be, on a FUE session of this size or multiple sessions of FUE. How does scaring look like and does the Doc have any pics of buzzed hair a year out of one of these mega FUE sessions. From the pic of donor scar area, I really didnt see anything? I only ask because I plan to have a FUE procedure this year sometime. This session makes the FUE session of 1500-2000 I want seem like a cake walk.
  6. I concur with sparky. There lots of Doc's that do FUE, but few who are masters. Dr. Feller in NY and Dr. Shapiro from SMG in MN, are just that, masters. By the way, both do FUT & FUE. As a side bar, I am doing an HT (FUE) with one of them later this year. So, back to FUE. You really need to do some more research on FUE and the Doc's that preform them. Don't be in a rush just to do anything. Take the time to get it right...a few months really shouldnt hurt anything. For me, FUE is the right plan of action, even though from the sound of things I am balder 3a-4a and older (35) than you are. There is a bunch of info and pics around the forum. I wish I had some links of pics and info for you, but I forgot where they are...somewhere on this forum ; ) It's taken me a year to grow the balls to think about an HT and other half of a year reading this forum to decide what my plan was. There are loads of pics and info. To start off, why dont you contact some of the clinics mentioned. They don't know your interested unless you call them. The two mentioned Doc's have reps on this forum, who can provide good solid info on your case, cost, and etc. Good luck buddy. you can email if you need more direct info, or you can ask here.
  7. Thanks for the breakdown of your HT day. You have a bunch of hair and hope you get a bunch more...... from the Doc you chose and the looks of things you will! Good luck and I second spex - heal and grow well.
  8. Congrats Superhawk, Hope your hair rocks and heals quick. good luck. I will be following you, I am thinking of SMG FUE for myself mid year. Thanks for posting while your actually getting your HT, thats pretty cool.
  9. Thanks spex, I think I got lost in the confusion. You told me to talk with the office and the office told me to talk to you.... something to do with the office's email on the fritz. No worries though. Anyways thanks for the breakdown, now I know how much to plan for. I don't know anything about free grafts, hope I didn't send the wrong message.
  10. I agree with Megatron. I look like I am thinning and going bald, but that is different from being bald...which I will be later without an HT. I tried Propecia for a month, my nuggets (testis) ached and where sore. I said to hell with that. For me the plan is to get work done with the knowledge that I will probably be a 5A when all is said an done.
  11. Great result. That guy should be super stoked, I know I would be. To me, Dr. Paul Shapiro rocked a home run with this FUE HT. This case is very close to my MPB and I would have chose the same plan of action for me. I would have to agree... for me, SMG/Dr. Paul/Janna played it right given the factors in regards to using both the safe and shall we say sometimes less safe zone on some people areas to achieve the results the client wanted.... even though he may or may not lose it later. I will very much use this example in getting my own FUE HT given I have the same factors, others might be advised not to use this plan of action with different factors involved. Janna, Can you email me with days and cost involved. Thanks.
  12. How rude of me, and you too Sparky. Good luck.
  13. Hairthere, Good Luck. Hope your FUE HT goes well and that you heal quickly with awesome results. I admire and respect Dr. Feller's and his FUT and FUE work/results, he has Chutzpah. Spex/Hairthere, I want/going to get an FUE HT. What is the ballpark for a hairroot FUE (1500 FU's). You can email if you prefer. I know it is about 10 a graft.....I can do the math in that case. I think it is totally worth it considering the work, passion, and expertise (Je ne sais quoi) of Dr. Feller. I just like the guy...maybe because he is a New Yorker...and because of his own experience and consistantly great results. I just can't afford it right now ...need to save a couple grand more for my HT. To be honest, the only think holding me back from doing it today is the cashola. I guess I could go for 800 Fu's now, or wait and do the 1500. Oh by the way, I hope Hairroot is doing great too.
  14. I have a weird idea/question, one that might have been asked before....just not recently. I understand that there are several factors that a Doc/patient has to or should take into account before procceding. Obviously - genetics/family history, hair characteristics, scalp health, patient expectations, etc. As far as the donor scar is concerned, I understand that there are general rules/guidelines that a doc follows in removing the strip (FUT) due to safety, laxity, donor supply, yeild, and cosmetics (the two finger rule above the ear and so forth). With that being said, a smiley face is a smiley face, and there is nothing wrong with a smiley face! Just, that it is a tell tale sign of and HT. It doesn't even look like an accident. It is a perfect half moon done with care and artistry. You can't say it was a big wave surfing injury...ok you can still say that! But it still looks like an HT. What happens in Vegas, should stay in Vegas! Most women who get breast implants don't go around saying they got new boobs or bringing attention to their scars. The above rant is my only qualm with FUT. I love it because it is cost effective and produces a natural full appearance. The scar is what is pushing me to FUE. I am afraid that in the short term a FUT will be great, but then after further loss (MPB) even with meds and multiple HT's to combat loss, I will be forced to buzz/shave later/older.... say hello to mister smiley face. There plenty of good discussions here on this board about FUT vs. FUE. I will break down my thoughts on it. Both are great! So, what is different? FUT - scar. FUE - cost... still is scaring just different. Obviously, there is more to it, look for the threads here to find out details and to come to your own conclusions. So what is my crazy question you say? Can an FUT HT be done with a different scar schematic and have similar yeilds? And then, add more FU's via FUE. Therefore reducing the scaring or rather just changing normal scaring patterns by using both modalities.
  15. yeah, you are doing really good. Hope you continue. Dr. Keser did an awesome job. By the way your hair looks really good short/buzzed. Looks like a regular full head of hair..even at 3.5 months. Good luck.
  16. I would have to agree with the slicked back look giving the apperence of more hair and giving some coverage to the crown. I actually really like the look and plan to wear my hair slicked back once I do get an HT. I see a lot of guys pics that in the wet pic or combed back pic...that their HT/hair and face look realy good. Me personally, I really don't care if my crown was a full moon back there.... as long as my hairline and mid scalp looked good. As it stands now...hairline is crapville and crown is a national forest. I once worked for a very suave wealthy looking CEO. He was always tan and had great hair. It was always slicked back to perfection. I admired him and his hair. One day he happened to pass me in the hall, looking perfect as usual, and for some reason I looked back. What I saw was a huge bald spot, which shocked me. I was so naive back then and said to myself "he was is lucky to only have gone bald in the crown area". I'm pretty sure now that he probably had a good HT.
  17. That is a cool idea...a tattoo on the scar. Would there be any risk of infection or other medical issues putting ink in a scar? Here is another celeb who is sporting a scar? I removed this post, was posted previous day. Check out topic/thread on jeremy Piven. http://hair-restoration-info.c...66060861/m/648105135
  18. I think that was really cool of Dr. Lindsey to do that for/with his daugther. I hope that Dr. Lindsey and his daugther are doing great.
  19. Does anybody have any FUE donor site pics shaved or buzzed more than 6 months post op. I would really like to see them because now I am leaning towards FUE over FUT. I plan on sporting the buzzed looked and am hoping to get decent results with FUE so that I can sport an optical hair shadow ; ) Now I have errant strands wildly havin a party on the front of my head (what is left!). People keep telling me " your hair is sticking straight up" and I tell them " I know, that's the only thing it does do!". Buzzing down now would be freeing, but to revealing too.
  20. PS: we are mainly talking about oversea transfers through banks that then need to be withdrawn.
  21. Plain and simple.. if your an evil-doer or a criminal you need cash to operate. Hence, that sum or multiples of that sum could be used to put team or cell into operational readiness. As far as chicks are concerned, hair is youth and age is wisdom. Be glad most most chick like age and money ; ) too bad I have little hair, little age, and little money!!! Heh you never know, a supermodels dad might have been one of us too ; )
  22. That amount of 10 k or over transfered or withdrawn has to be reported by bank to Big brother for various reasons post nine eleven.
  23. Another thing to remember with all Doc's is that cash is king. Meaning, that some give a 10% discount for paying cash, I know this to be true for Dr. Cooley.
  24. Does anybody have any scar pics of any FUE HT's buzzed or shaved a year or more out.
  25. That would be great. I could get two procedures for the price of one using back hair. I could get rid of my back hair and get some hair on my head : ) I have a very rich donor supply on my back (gorilla)- I would have hair like Elvis. Too bad..just a dream.
