i had HT with DR. Keene and im very happy with results after 13 months. Maybe i expected a little bit more,but i had "only" 2000 grafts.thats why i would sugest to everyone to go with more grafts because 2000 gr will not make any big difference! im also happy that all my natural hair i lost in shock loss came back!

i would like to know one thing. If you have HT and have shock loss,and all natural hair comes back after shockloss,does it mean that your natural hair (that came back) is not weak and will stay there (almost) forever?

i visited both doctors and for some reason decided to go with with dr. Keene. i had 2000 grafts and my hairloss was similar to yours. Tommorow will be exactly one year post op. i will try to post pics soon. Im happy with results, altough maybe i expected little bit more,but as i said it was worth it!. she sugested 2000 gr probably thinking of my shock loss,well i had shock loss only in my donor area but it all came back! my scar is still visibile with wet hair but i dont care much about that! i would like to have second procedure and add more density but im tired of all that process,waiting period,shock loss etc....

hi action how u doing? tell us what dr keene told you ,please. i called dr keene couple of times but could not get her on the phone. im hapy with my transplant with her but maybe i expected little bit more (i had 2000 grafts). i also had little growth in my temples,but overall looks good,maybe because of my existing hair and propecia.... good luck my friend!

hi all well this is my 7 month update,and im sory i have only 2 (bad) photos, this site was great to help me to choose a right doctor and i found many other things that helped me to improve condition of my hair. now after 7 months i can say- it was really worth 7000 bucks how much i payed for surgery! my growth started 2 months after surgery and lasted until month 5. in that time after 5 mo i stopped using MSM so i dont know if that was reason,but i doubt it. Anyway,growth on my sides (where i received 1500 grafts) was good but density is still low and does not match my existing hair. But when i stile my hair (look at my pics) its not noticable. I also recieved 500 grafts between my existing hair. bottom line,transplanted hair mixed with my existing hair give me nice result, but i wonder if i didnt have any (or few) existing hairs in the front how result would be.... im taking proscar every 2 days now and hope to keep now what i have,and most important thing- i dont have any more people saying: dude you are balding.... maybe result would be better if i have received more grafts but my donor area was not really dense according to the doctor....

hello action how u doing? well,it takes time to see final result i guess,.....if u check some other posts in this and other forums u can see lot of people notice big diference from moth 6-8. are u going to check with dr.keene after 6 months? Im 1 month behind you and im very hapy with result. I was taking every day MSM,hair vitamins,biotin,nioxin follice booster and proscar. I dont know if all this stuff help but i noticed a lot of growth after 3 months and also my existing hair improved 100%. Nobody is saying - "dude u are balding " anymore.... good luck and i wish you many new growth in new year!

i think this is true. my existing hair become healthier, stronger and thicker almost immidiately after transplant.

hi gibraltar, yes,hair around my donor scar is coming back,still not 100% but its coming back! It started growing around 3th month post op. i dont see any hair on scar but it takes time i guess....

hi all ive recently purchased BIOTIN capsules (5mg) from health store and started to take them 15 days ago... My existing hair is improved alot,i mean ALOT,its ticker and really healty,and i can also see alot of new growth from my HT transplant i had 4 months ago.... Im not sure this is all related to biotin but i have not seen my hair in this condition for long time! I have been taking MSM,proscar and HAIR vitamines for about 8 months but i have not seen so drastically change like in these last 10 days! anyone have simmilar experience with biotin here? Also im not sure if i should stop taking MSM,i really dont see any benefit from it,in last 8 months it maybe did my existing hair growing faster but i doubt it has something to do with new (HT) growth!

i think it looks good,there is big difference between your first and last photos. Scar... i dont know... its noticable...... BTW i have a question for u guys- is trico-closure supposed to be invisible? Is hair supposed to grow thru scar?

i think it looks really good. im also using MSM. and i think my hair is much ticker now. how is your scar? do u still have that bald patch?

yeah midiman is right,my hair is very weak so i think 2000 gr is ok for now. my hair was very weak since i was 16. and the B spot,i tought next procedure is not option in near future,later who knows... im on proscar for 6 months and i noticed already that my hair is in better condition. only thing is maybe i noticed my frontal area is more thin since im on proscar... anyway,we will see what future brings,now is too early to say anything about final result. i hope my hair around donor area will grow again!

thanx guys for response well first my donor area is not dense so i dont think i could get even 3000 gr from there. second i dont think i really need more that 2500 grafts now. I posted now my pre op pictures. with any grafts more than 2000 i would have shock loss,according to my surgeon. Post op pictures i posted before are with wet hair and sunny light,but i dont think i look so bad in real life. thaths why i always asking here other people to post clear pistures with sunny light and same size of hair (post and pre op). anyway,im not even thinking about second procedure,i can live with further hairloss,i just hope my transplanted hair will not look odd if i lose more hair! here is first pre op front pic:

hello everybody! well its time to post some pictures of my progress here and i also have couple of questions aswell. first,sorry for my bad english,im still trying to improve it! well im 32 y old and had 2000 graft procedure 6 weeks ago. Everything went fine,no pain and no shock loss in recipent area. BUT,i have a lot of shockloss around donor area (scar) and its very visibile even with my long hair covering it. Im very depressed cuz of that,but im hoping it will grow in next couple of months. One year ago i visited my first HT doc who said i need 3000 grafts in front . and he guaranteed no shock loss! i didnt decide to go with him. My second doc said that adding 2500 in front will give me 3X more density. I didnt go with him... My third doc said that my frontal hair has about 1500 grafts and we can add 1500 on sides (pic 6 and 7) and 500 grafts to rest of my frontal area. (2000 total) I decided to go with this option. Now,its way to early to say about final result,but i hope i did right decision. My questions for u guys are- Looking at my pics,do you think 1500 grafts on sides and 500 in rest of my frontal hairline will make cosmetic difference? Will 1500 grafts on my sides match to my existing hair that i have in front? I went to 3 different docs (they are all members of coalition) and they all told me different things! If my hairlos progress in future,do u think my hair will look strange because of this transplant? thanx in advance!

are you guys talking that shock loss around donor area can be permanent? Thats really scary! My scar is noticable even with long hair covering it,and with avery day its getting worse. i hope my hair will come back in next months i will post pictures soon,i just bought camera today.

yeah i think it will definitely grow again! good thing i keept long hair in the back so i can cover my scar now. its only visible if hair is wet. fortunately i live in arizona so its never raining here!

NOT to wash for a full month? huh thats strange.... i heard armani also advises to not dye hair 6 months after HT while other docs says its ok after 2-3 weeks.... You need to shampoo first to get rid of the scabs and then to keep scalp clean. I used avalon tea tree mint shampoo,fantastic product,so gentle.... then i tryed jason shampoo that i used before HT but it didnt do well.. Then one day (20 days after HT) i tryed nizoral... BIG mistake! I will never use nizoral again! I got redness all over my head. I returned to Avalon tea tree and i think i will stick with it next couple of months,maybe even years....
