  1. First of all, I'd like to thank everyone who posts on this forum regularly as doing my research for the past few months helped me make a great decision for HT and let me avoid the hair mills. Dr. Ron Shapiro throughout my surgery today continued to make sure that I had every question answered, kept me comfortable/pain free throughout surgery, and all of the staff was top notch in honesty. I got 3006 grafts and am currently in the hotel feeling the pain but I guess that was expected. The doldrums are about to begin and apparently, that's the worst part of all this as the actual surgery day went by like a breeze. SMG definetly lived up to their reputation
  2. Hey guys, I can get nizoral1% and neutrogena T-gel (5%coal tar extract) which was a recommended alternate at one of my coalition doc's consultation visits for hair loss. Should I go with one of these or straight to 2%nizoral. Is one better than the other??
  3. Yeah, I'm going with Ron Shapiro....you were right about both being excellent and it was an individual choice on whom I felt most comfortable with and who I clicked with during the consultation. I really feel that Dr. Shapiro strives for the best for all of his patients and gets a great satisfaction from his work.
  4. Ok guys, I have done the research...I've completed 2 live consultations with 2 of the best hair transplant docs in the world (Griffin/Shapiro)...and I hopefully will get my 1st HT in January. I'm hoping to see results by April/May...the torture is going to be if people realize I had work done.....I wonder what excuses I can come up with for the first few weeks...folliculitis??

  6. Does anyone have a good reputation for having quick post-surgery recovery time. With my line of work, I really can't afford to take much time off post surgery and don't want to look like I just had hair transplant surgery (obviously)....I'm trying to decide b/w Shapiro, Griffin, Bernstein, and Rahal.
  7. Hey guys, I am about to go in and visit Dr. Shapiro and Dr. Griffin next month for live consultations...what questions do I need to ask about the surgery?
  8. Thanks for the help everyone. I believe my first consult will be with Dr. Griffin in Atlanta. I tried propecia for about a month several yrs ago and did get the side effects mentioned so I don't know if i'll try it again or not.
  9. Lurking for a while and it seems that the best guys to initially do my consult with (I am a Stage 4 or 5) are either Dr. Shapiro, Dr. Rahal, or Dr. Feller. Which do you guys recommend? Also, do you have to use propecia or is there something else you can use in case of side effects (loss of sexual libido)?

  11. So what are the pros/cons....if i don't do a mega session (3500 grafts), does that mean that i will have a "see through" HT for a while. And, post op, are people/co-workers gonna be able to tell i had something done...and if so, for how long (shaven/transplanted donor area showing little hairs).
