  1. Dr A has been performing FUE for many years now, so he has a lot of experience and has a team of techs that work flawlessly together to harvest a lot of grafts carefully in a short time. Everything went like a breeze, no problems at all apart from some recipient numbness . Which is subsiding. I thoroughly research this procedure and Dr A and planned it over some years. What can i say i have no problems at all. I have had significant early growth but im only 3 months out so cant post any good pics yet.
  2. Im a recent dr A patient, he is an absolute master at what he does.
  3. Body hair transplants are not new. Dr woods trialled them nearly 10 years ago. And yes they did grow and grew longer than the source length. Since then many people have had BHT transplanted, solely or in combination with the ultimate source head hair. Thew only thing not proven to date is the "coverage" of BHT and hence "assumed" lower yield. which will never be proven, as u cant get the same coverage. BHT do grow but do not provide the same coverage as head hair and thats disregarding hair shaft diameter differences . Primailry due to their slower growth and also becuase they go into resting more than head hair. i.e The follicle has fallen out and not visible. These reasons would mean that even if every hair did grow you could only except say at a guess that 60% are visible at once. To confirm this resting for example i had some BHT removed from my stomach and 100% of the graft were harvested in a certain area. Now i can still see this scars. What i was afraid of was that since 100% of the hairs were removed in this area that my BHT would look unnatural /patchy and bald in this area. Well surprisingly in between the healed donor holes im seeing new hairs emerging that were not visible for the last 2 months !! after my BHT procedure. So in summary not all BHT grow at the same time like head hair, it may be only 60% at the same time. So their is no way BHT will give the same coverage as head hair. Saying that though if you are dense packing these BHT and then also using a small % of beard hair (that does not have this problem) you can significantly increase you donor availability. Note this hair will not grow to full length. But it will cover your scalp and make the below bald skin less visible. Basically like a natural "Toppik" or "Dermacth" And when mixed with head hair at say under 40% it would be very hard to distinguish which is head hair and which is BHt at a short length. By mixing in head hair with body hair depending on what body hair and how it looks, i think you could possibly double your total donor source. And hence significantly increase your grafts sq/cm
  4. That is unless you can add a significant number of BHT to boost the fu/sq cm like i have done. 2900 head fue and 800 bht. And i have a ton more BHT and beard hair to use, also in the mix with head hair.
  5. Yeah , im very happy that at 2 months out i have maybe 30% of the grafts grow straight out the box. I have good coverage already now in the dark. in day light thought its very see through. But i couldnt be happier now considering its 2 months out and possibly the worst it may get.
  6. I have now updated my 5 week post op picks
  7. if anyone is question the effectiveness on Ketoconazole shampoos, click on this recent study amd the photos in particular only a few months later. Their is a new product being trialled that is a lot better than the shampoo so the results could be a lot better than this. Its called Keto Mouse, and has been posted about on the other forumns, in particualr hairlosshelp http://www.sciencedirect.com/science?_ob=ArticleURL&_ud...96ac4f1c6e5215d61bef
  8. Tom A I agree with every part of your logic above, all those thoughts went through my mind after years of reaseacrh on all the forums. And just recently i decided to yes take the risk with the procedure and the doctor !! and i have had 3700 FUSE placed in my hairline By dr A last week and am amazed actaully at what he has doen to my frontal 1/3 !! Now depending on yield this procedure, and results and lack of scarring will surpass all that i have seen online and my expectations. As for his techniquie of extraction, i can vouche that it is very differnt to that described by other fue doctors and as you will see in another thread i started the donor healing is fantastic, and immeditaely post extraction the holes are close to 0.45 mm i have never seen anything ever psoted on the internet of anything close immeditaly post extraction.. The exapnding needle techniqiue and another factor as expaliend to me by the doc, quite logically and simply allow him to make a smaller exit wound than any other technique that does not do this, whilst still exapning and take a larger area around the bulb. As you see on my donor pics the exit holes are extemely small. I am not linked with Dr A in any way, im an Australian and basically just someone who has read and read all the forums and all the information available for at leats 10 years now,and not allowed any single opinion or result to bias my views. i will update my other thread to show my healing and growth
  9. With the body hair in the temples the maximum density is 50/50 with head hair. The body hair used is from my stomache and is very similar to the head hair singles thickenss. Due to the longer resting phase , i agree, their may be some seasonal thinng appearing, but thats how i want it, as i have mainy used BHT in the temple corners and last 1cm of hair line on each side .. So this area should look thinner than the rest, as thats the 1st place u normally loose hair and is genarally thinner than the rest. The 1st few rows of hailrine are nearly 100% body hair singles. Further back is wher i have used mainly the thicker 2 hair body grafts from my chest and towards the centre part line the maximum hair/graft have been planted of both head and body hair.. interstingly Dr A said he got a few 4 hair head grafts !! so their all in the middle part line.
  10. Bill, i have the exact numbers listed from Dr A that i wil post later, i would guess the average is probably 2 hairs per graft. Im not takeing any meds appart from Nizoral , which i have used for 10 years to slow the loss succesfully i think. I will not use minxoxidl and propecias as i dont need to. After 10 years of hair loss i show very little loss if any behind the nW3 area. This matches my dads loss at 65, no hair loss behind NW3. As a last resort in future if i change my mind then i have the big guns up my sleave. And have not had to slave away using a daily product or the risks of side effects. Also for frontal loss propecia and minixodil look to be very marginal in terms of results. Ht is the only option for me. I have carefully though out every step of my treatment procedure. And have been reading hair loss forums for 10 years now. I was one of the first to only ever use nizoral fro MPB, becuase i knew propecia could worsen frontal results and minox was not very effective either at the front. By using only minox i new what was ging my improvemnt. For 6-8 years after my hair looked fantastic, ie nearly back to my juvenille hair line. But in the last 2 years it has recessed to a nw2/3. The cure for hair loss the reason i have used BHt is becuase i have basically added 900 grafts to my available donor without sacrificing my valuable head hair, if i need more grafts in future. Also becuase i used 20% of the total only, i think it will be very difficult to tell where the BHT have been placed. Also becuase of the 20% even if the yield is low or due to the extra resitng phase of BHT you will not be able to notice it becuase its only 20%. I have also used mainly 2 hair chest grafts and some thick beard grafts to maximise my coverage from the BHT. I used stomache grafts as they were the thinnest to match my existing head hair grafts for the temple points to make grafts soft more natural looking than a wall of terminal head hair grafts at the front. I cant wait to see the results i guess as much as all you ou their.. common 2 days post op now !!
  11. I will be updateing my recovery process and growth as time passes. I am one day post up and fully functional alreaDY !
  12. Started thinning at 16, only used nizoral ever since and progressed to NW3 now at 27. 3781 FUSE HT with Dr Arvind in India completed 28 april 2007 Day 1 - 1235 grafts, Day 2 - 1547 grafts, Day 3 - 999 grafts. Scalp grafts = 2956 grafts 558 chest grafts and 216 abdomen grafts totalling 774 stomache grafts. 51 beard area grafts were also extracted as a trial
