  1. I do take finasteride yeah - have done for 15 years now lol
  2. Sure! I opted to not have my hair shaved so it may be a little hard to see but here's what I found on my old phone:
  3. Hi guys! I used this forum a lot when I was researching where to go for my hair transplant and it was really helpful, so I thought it might be worth posting my results/experience in case they could help someone else. I had a hair transplant with Dr Gabel in December of 2020. I'd previously had an unsuccessful transplant in 2009, so was a little wary and really did my research this time around. As I already had a scar from my first procedure, it made more sense to go the FUT route for me, although FUE was an option too. We ended up doing 1900 grafts and I started seeing some results around 3-4 months after the procedure. Here are a few pics of me before the procedure and pictures of my hair now. I used the same bathroom with the same lighting for a fair comparison (except the pictures with the line on my forehead - they were taken just before the procedure). I honestly couldn't be happier with the results and with my experience with Dr Gabel. He responded to emails with any questions after the procedure and did all the work himself and didn't pass it off to a technician and I found him to be a really kind man. For anyone out there on this forum looking for the right doctor like I was 2 years ago, if Dr Gabel is on your list of options I couldn't recommend him more!
  4. I flew from Los Angeles to Portland - I wasn't really worried about that as I've flown a few times during covid and it's always been safe. We did 1900 grafts and I stayed in an airbnb really close by for 3 nights after the procedure. They even let me come in every day for 3 days after to have someone wash my hair and make sure none of the grafts had come out overnight. I met with a couple of doctors in LA and did online consults with Gabel and Diep. I decided to go with Gabel as I got the best vibe from him, and he consistently has good results and a good reputation. He didn't put any pressure on me and guarantees he does the work himself and doesn't pass it off onto a technician (which I can personally attest to as he was there with me for 12 hours after I'd arrived still putting the grafts in himself). He would also pop in every day I was there after to check how everything was looking and answer any questions. I've heard mixed things about Diep but he def seems to get good results so I think either way you're gonna be in good hands. But I really wouldn't let a minor inconvenience like a short flight deter you from checking out Gabel - he really impressed me and I'm so glad I went with him. Good luck!
  5. Honestly man your hair looks amazing. Me and I'm sure many other guys on here would kill to have a hairline like that. I honestly am baffled that you're not happy with it
  6. I had consultations with both Diep and Gabel and ended up having my procedure with Dr Gabel and honestly can't say enough good things about him and the rest of the his staff - he's a really decent guy and does excellent work. I live in Socal and had mine during covid too and it wasn't really a big issue.
  7. Thank you for all your feedback guys. After doing a little more research this weekend I decided against Dr Baubac - that's super alarming that they make you sign an NDA and I can't find any patients of his or examples of his work on here. Right now I'm looking at Dr Diep, Dr Mohebi or even possibly Dr Gable. If anyone has any any experience with these guys I'd love to hear!
  8. Hi guys, I'm looking to have an FUE hair transplant done in a few months time. I've met with Dr Umar in Redondo beach and a rep from Dr Baubac at Alvi Armani in Beverly hills. I liked both of them but think I'm leaning more towards Dr Baubac. They suggested 2,500 grafts for me and can do what they call the 'executive buzz' where they just shave the donor area at the back and don't have to shave my whole head. Before I commit and pay the deposit I just wanted to ask here if anyone has any experience with either of these drs and had any feedback? Or if there are other FUE surgeons out there in the LA area that I am missing? I had a strip surgery done by Ken Siporin 10 years ago with really poor results so I'm anxious to make sure I pick the best option possible to get it right this time around. Any feedback anyone can give me will be massively appreciated. Thanks!
  9. Thanks for the advice everyone.. I'll definately be doing some more research but this is a great starting point. Thanks again and I'll keep you posted!
  10. thanks guys - I work in both London and LA so a clinic in either is pretty easy for me to get to. Will check out Dr Siporin, and if anyone has any other reccomendations, please do let me know. Thanks!
  11. Hi there - am looking for some help.. I started losing my hair very young (18) when it suddenly began to recede very quickly. I'm now 22 and have been on regaine and propecia for the last 3 years. Although it has stopped any further hair loss (and even grown a small amount of it back) my hair is still fairly thin on top, particularly at the temples. I've decided to invest in a hair restoration procedure, but know very little about it and am worried about the horror stories I've heard. It's important to me to invest in the clinic/doctor who can provide the best results, and was wondering if anyone could reccomend anyone in either London UK, or Los Angeles that they know to be great. Many thanks!
