LOL This thread is cracking me up. Personally, I think we should all contribute some of our shill earnings to <span class="ev_code_RED">PurfectPoo</span> for the great laughs he has generated. I think I'm gonna become a frequent poster again if we get this kind of fun going on a regular basis.

  3. Nobuzz: Thanks!

S&P: Technically, I didn't have "crown" work, because the second surgery covered the middle top third (went up to the beginning of the crown). I think the HT2 (middle) growth was about as quick as the HT1 growth (front). Right now my sides and front third are about 2 inches, but the middle-top (HT2) is only about 1 inch, which leaves me with an imbalanced profile. As soon as it all fills in and evens out (I suppose another few months) it should look even better. In your situation, the crown itself is notoriously slow. And, of course, some people grow more slowly in general.

Jobi: Look at the top shot: I had no hair in the middle third of my scalp before HT2. Also, I think the new hairline is more refined. In HT1 Dr. Hasson used a jagged approach. Given the quality of my hair (dark, course), I asked Dr. Hasson to make it less jagged this time. I think it was the right choice.

Hairbank: Thanks, bud. It's really amazing, even to me. In going through all my old photos even I could hardly believe how far I've come. The industry has made humongous strides in the last few years. Despite the torture of wearing a hairpiece for so many years, I'm glad I waited.

Pat: Thanks! How do I attach a sound clip? icon_eek.gif

B-spot, there was a day, when you were young and innocent, in which I was king of the alleged-shills. You young whippersnappers don't know what a real battle is -- I lived through Shill-War I, and heroically survived the front lines!

How about if I work for you? I could be a shill for a shill. I could post on how much knowledge you possess regarding selecting physicians. I could probably quit my day job with all the business we could generate. icon_wink.gif

    LOL!

  6. Each clinic will give their own advice as to how long you should wait before re-attaching a hairpiece, but I'd say 2 months to be safe.

This is probably the first piece of incorrect advice I've ever seen the legendary Bill give. icon_eek.gif

Transplanted grafts are securely set in around 3 days. Placing a hairpiece, hat or bandanna over them after that point will in no way damage them. The only potential problem would be using glue or tape over the grafts, which can 1) rip out the grafts and 2) clog the follicles and kill them. Therefore, it is safe to use a system with clips, and to secure the front with a narrow strip of tape, which would be placed just in front of the transplanted hairline.

I used a piece, and was wearing it 4 days after my surgery. Dr. Hasson had suggested I stay away from it for a week or two, but I needed to use it once on the fourth day, though only briefly. Having said that, I always tried to take it off as often as possible (in other words I'd only use it when I absolutely needed to, then used a baseball hat or just stayed home and wore nothing.

  7. <span class="ev_code_PINK">As soon as I walked out of the locker room there was a confident well built guy standing in middle of the machines and I instantly knew it was him. It was a very rare experience and I felt very comfortable approaching him because I knew he was a very down to earth guy. I walked up to him and said "Hi, my name is Hairfree." He was puzzled and when he took off his ipod and after I mentioned Hairfree a couple times a big smile came across his face and was just as happy as I was to meet each other.</span><STRIKE> He motioned his lovely wife to come over an meet me.</STRIKE>

Now, why did the friggen wife have to come in and muck up a perfect story? Can you imagine where this could have gone? Meaty biceps, manly chests, smooth, sexy hair, sweaty embraces in the sauna . . . The title of this topic could have been "<span class="ev_code_PINK">The bond we shared</span>." icon_eek.gif

Ok, ok, let's be serious. Great story, guys, and thanks for sharing it!

  8. I think chat might be fun. Imagine if we could get a doc to come in for a Q&A chat session! Well, why don't we try it out?

I PROPOSE WE ALL TRY AND MEET THIS <span class="ev_code_RED">SUNDAY EVENING, MARCH 18, 9 PM EST, FOR OUR FIRST SCHEDULED HTN CHAT! SUBJECT: HAIR TRANSPLANTS AND PHOTOGRAPHY</span>

Pat, is it possible to email all members a chat announcement?

What about a doc who meets the "celestial" standard? icon_wink.gif
