  1. Darween, I hope this forum topic helped, as you can see you will get some people who favor one doctor's work over the over, hopefully based on previous procedures. But the point most have made here is "not to rush", go ahead and research them fully and then come to your own conclusion....I'm sure you will be happy with your decision! Thank you Mickey85, had my last procedure in 2008 and still get complements on my hair today, for me its was beyond my expections!
  2. Darween Trying to find the right doctor for a life improving event is one of the most challenging decisions to make. But after months of homework, which includes: checking reviews, visiting each office for a 1x1 meeting with the doctor, and finally talking to previous patients, I decided to work with Dr. Arocha. I had my TP with Dr. Arocha simply because he is an artist, and his work always looks natural. Arocha Hair Restoration is 100% focused on hair restoration surgery. Clearly money is not the only motivation here. I encourage you to meet with Dr. Arocha, his passion for his profession is palpable! In regards to, Mickey 85, this person seems to make posting on the HTN network more than a full time job. Not clear if he has not had a hair transplant, nor does he take any treatment for hair loss according to information on his profile. I understand he is passionate about Dr. Konior's work, but has he worked with Dr. Arocha? I would never try to deter you from one doctor over the over. But I will give you my personal experiences...That is the main reason I'm here. Take care my friend!
  3. Speegs, Dr. Arocha's work is well documented to be very refined and state of the art. He has been posting many examples for over 1??years, often at an early stage of growth. Frankly,I am puzzled by : 'Next I drove to Austin and met with an energetic and kind doctor named Dan McGrath, a hair transplant patient himself. He was kind and to the point, he too expressed a discomfort with doing megasessions on a norwood 3 case and estimated 1500-1800 grafts at 6k price tag. My lone complaint with him was on his website, his hairline on the web looks dense and full, in person although he is far from bald his hairline can be seen through a couple of inches. Granted obviously didn't operate on himself but his hair on his website is fuller than in person. I think he too has an MHR background.' It makes you uncomfortable that he is showing a fuller looking transplant on his website of himself, yet you still are leaning towards him a bit. Well, what's makes you think that he has not embellish the results of his patients? By the way, I have had a hair transplant by Dr. Arocha, and I could not be happier. The procedure went very smooth, with little to no discomfort. Although my hair loss was diffuse, I suffered no shock loss. In fact, I now have a full hair of hair. All the luck to you in your quest of finding your doctor.
  4. Not sure I understand what happened with Sharptooth??¦Dr. Arocha, was very responsive to all my questions and was willing to work with me on prices. I do not know the other Doctors in the coalition, all I can do is share my experience and hope others have the same. I underwent my hair transplant procedure 7 months ago with Dr. Arocha. The pre-surgery, during and post-surgery went better than my expectations. Dr. Arocha and his staff made certain that the procedure and the process of hair transplant went flawlessly. Pre surgery: Like everyone here, I have anxiety towards any type of surgery. Dr. Arocha could since my stress level, so before surgery he sat me down and again explained the entire process. This is one of the main reasons I went with him??¦his personal touch! During the minor surgery: Dr. Arocha made sure I was given ample sedation and I did not feel any discomfort. He and his friendly staff provided a very comfortable atmosphere, where I enjoyed movies and soothing music. Post Surgery: Dr. Arocha provided me post-operative instructions that were clear concise. I followed them to a tee and lucky enough I did not have the swelling and discomfort I hear about after surgery Congratulations Dr. Arocha, you truly deserve to be recognized!
  5. Last week I was able to visit a couple Hair Restoration clinics here in Houston...MHR "Dr. Recasens" and visit with Arocha hairrestoration "Dr. Arocha" I have to say both clinics seemed to be very skilled and professional. They understood how emotion it is losing ones hair at such an early age of 16. I tried hair systems (NEVER RECOMMEND to anyone!) and shaving my head, but I always felt cheated of my youth. After going through the consultations, and understanding the entire process, I felt much more comfortable with Dr. Arocha. He dealt with me directly, I was expecting some sales guys telling me about my options and what to expect, the norm at MHR and Bosley. I was excited to hear that I have good amount of donor hair and a transplant is an option! I will keep you all posted of my status and when I plan to have surgery.
