  1. Thank you dude! Always appreciate your more than kind words! Lets just say we had a 'negotiation' 😂, he stared at me for a good like ten mins drawing and redrawing until we got to the right one, I was sat in the chair where he takes the photography and then walked up to the mirror every few mins. But in all honest it was like 75% him
  2. *Month 2 Update* Hey guys, not much to report over here, I think the shedding is definitely done with, maybe a few hairs here and there. However, whats interesting is, I think I may have some growth, the existing hairs that didnt fall out in the shed are getting quite long, but I definitely feel like there is some growth of a few whispy hairs here and there. I think the redness in the pictures below are a little exaggerated in the pictures, but hopefully that goes down in the next few weeks. I did my first month of post HT PrP using the Fidia System that Dr Couto recommends, Plus some redlight therapy was included free with the PRP. I appreciate all your thoughts on the photos attached, to see if the growth is new hairs or simply just those that didnt shed. Im really happy with the donor and have experienced very minial shock loss, which was an initial worry of both Dr Couto and mine. so yeah thats it
  3. Hey Bro, Good luck on the journey, I know exactly what you mean about the confidence and identity, its not like me or you were bald, but at the same time, styling options, the ability to look the way you want, its a nice option to have. This is just bringing you back to what you had, rather than anything extra. Im happy for you and will be following.
  4. No it was me actually, I thought having thick hair would make me a great candidate, but it turns out that in Coutos opinion, medium thickness, rather than coarse thick hair is better, because there is more to chose from for the hairline. Second, his worry with dense packing it, was the fact that graft survival is arguably more important than having loads of hair packed into a small area, because you can always add more later, and arguably having more hair survive when implanted, means that you also dont need to harvest the donor area for more grafts to have a similar impact.
  5. Not at all, ask away... When I was in your position I was positively wanting to know everything :D. I only had my frontal third done, so they started with the hairline, Couto did like 80% then the last like 150 grafts were done by another DR.
  6. Yes I did, literally on the way home. I bought a snapback the day before, there is a way to put it on, that doesnt disturb the grafts.
  7. Hey Youth_again, I think it is getting thicker, but you can still see through the hairline which I would not rest on, since you still have 5 months it will get better but I don’t think it will be as full as you probably expected a couto result would be, but I recon like another 3-400 grafts will do the job. Have you asked if he would do unshaven this time, because he told me if I do ever need a small top up to perfect the result he would do unshaven to ensure I don’t have to go through the process from start to finish all over again
  8. Yeah quite surprised and happy with the donor to be quite honest. That quoting is very weird, but if you’ve had a consult with couto he will do another one on the day and give you his final feelings on graft count
  9. I’m Mediterranean/ North African, so we have v thick hair normally, which is why I’m surprised at the graft quote, but yes I didn’t have to do temples, I’m in the uk.
  10. Hi mate, So far its too early to tell tbh, im only coming up to month 2 next sunday, so hopefully growing phase will start in month three I believe. I was only one day for 1475, if yours is a similar case how comes you have so many grafts quoted, whats your hair characteristics ? Couto is a machine, the day I was there the surgery finished at like 8PM and he was still working another case after finishing mine. Honestly I think on weekdays its all he does! He will most likely do like 730 grafts a day for you if its 2500, which means that you need three half days rather than full days if you get me.
  11. It really is on a case by case basis, I think if your hairloss is not severe and if he has to implant between hairs, Fin is a must, but if your hairloss has already progressed and is predictable, he may not require it. He has unmedicated cases on his youtube, but as always to slow progression and make sure the transplant lasts he will likely ask you to medicate. But i cant speak for him, I can only speak for my situation
  12. I Just wanted to update regarding two things. 1. Vertex hair loss seems to have actually gotten better since the HT, with regrowth. 2. I don't think I have experienced any shock loss in the donor, which if i'm honest was my biggest worry when undertaking the process. I will be reaching month two next week, really dying to see results but am trying to be realistic all the same
  13. Hey dude sorry to hear and read about your situation, if you do want my two cents, I would recommend @BHR Clinic, for the very specific reason that I think Dr. Bissanga is the best most ethical choice for repairs. From what I have seen, he may be able to advise you in an unbiased manner, for ethics I would truly tout him as such a genuine Dr. Im saying this without being his patient, but when I spoke with Ian, his patient advisor, I really felt like they put ethics first, and I think in your case this might work for you.
  14. I totally agree with you, especially if you wear your hair above a grade 2, it would be undetectable, I did make a point about the donor though because of the fact that I do like a skin fade so I’m quite happy with the way it turned out. Try to preserve your donor because it is the supply of all things you will need in the future
  15. I do agree, especially when compared to the other side, which has grown in way better! But basically unshaven it should be awesome with the touch up
  16. Dude tbh for the stage youre at i think it looks bloody brilliant, the fact that he wants a second crack to touch up, in my opinion simply indicates he just wants to perfect it.
  17. All I can say is, yes the wait is long, but I guess we’ll find out in this thread eventually if it was worth it
  18. To be quite honest the redness is quite minimal in normal light to the point today one of my coworkers pulled my hat off and didnt notice. I mainly wear a hat to cover it up currently but not really bothered if people know, it’s more just not having to explain to everyone I meet that I had one. I was very surprised with the cut, all day I wanted to get home to see what the donor looked like, I’m not sure what your thoughts are on how visible it is but I asked for the same cut I get every time and from my eyes it looks hardly noticeable and maybe even with some smp would be undetectable. I also got my graft count today luckily enough Total Follicular Units (UFs): UF1: 150 UF2: 636 UF3: 601 UF4: 87 Total implanted hairs: 3573 Ratio: 2.4
  19. *1 Month Update* So I wanted to wait a little while before updating you on the 1 month progress until I had a trim. After having a skinfade, I am really quite impressed with the harvesting. I have attached photos for the haircut. Until now I'm quite happy with the progress. I spoke with my mum, who basically knows nothing about hair transplants and tried to explain the grafting to her, to get her to see if she could notice the missing grafts from the donor zone, and she was having a tough time identifying it. But I'm uploading for the more aware purveyor to give feedback and see the progress and give thoughts. I would really appreciate any thoughts on the one month progress. Most of the transplanted hair has fallen out, but as expected it's the shock loss ugly duckling phase. My only thing that I would ask, is the transplanted area supposed to look like that now, looks a little bumpy, and just wondering if this goes away and when?
  20. agreed, and also to keep it positive, you can always add the grafts to make things better as an option, so chin up dude and yes its a patience game
  21. Hey Youth_Again, Dr couto made similar comments regarding me, not many soft hairs for the hairline, so he had to go lower into the donor, just wondering if you have spoken to anyone at the clinic yet, and if so, what they have advised?
  22. Ive been wearing a cap since the second day, but only minimally and with special precautions and a special type of hat (snapback), to keep my head away from the sun and everything, just gotta make sure its a large one so it doesnt touch your head, Currently im not sure about shaving it, ill only consider if it gets to a point where it all looks silly but im hoping i can comb over the thicker hair behind over the HT at some point when it grows out
