Hello everyone 😁
After 1 year of researching and thinking about it, I decided to get a hair transplant at 27 years old.
I‘m planning to write a proper journey post after surgery. But summarized:
1. I used finasteride 1mg a day for 2.5 years when my hairloss started at 19/20. Did not have any side-effects that I recognized. Slowed/Stopped hairloss.
2. Stopped fin at around 22 y/o because of fear of sides (probably stupid decision), started applying minoxidil, ran out of it and was travelling so didn‘t apply it for 2 months and then irregular min for 3 months. Hairloss came back.
3. Started using min every day and slowed it down a lot.
4. After looking at bodies of work, requested Pekiner / Bicer / Demirsoy / Gur / Turan / Yaman consultation. All of them friendly/good communication. Gur / Turan (FUEcapilar) stood out because they asked more questions and wanted particular videos/pictures.
5. I liked the hairline and pricing of Dr Gur 1.5 / graft in the VIP package where he does almost everything (because it was between pekiners 2.7/2.8 graft and the hair mills for 2000 EUR). I had to pay 500 EUR as deposit to secure the reservation, which is understandable.
6. Dr. Gur recommended I take at least a microdose of fin so I‘m taking 0.5 mg a day since 3 weeks and feeling fine. He thinks I‘m NW VI and we will not do the crown but do 3000+ grafts density increase and conservative hairline.
Okay my questions:
1. What do you think about my case?
2. Am I a NW 6? I would‘ve said 5 at first but not sure (and doesn‘t really matter in the end)
3. Are 3000-3500 grafts enough? I like that Dr Gur seems to be mindful of donor area health and rather conservative hairline, but on the other hand I feel like with my donor area is good enough do around 4000 grafts with a rather low hairline. (Pekiner said this in the consultation.)
4. Pekiner wanted to take 3000 from the normal donor area and 1000 from my beard. I thought it‘s a good idea (especially from the lower parts). Why don‘t others consider this?
Anyway happy to answer questions and update in a few weeks. I trust Dr. Gur and looking forward to the trip, operation and results! 🙏
Hope everyone has a great day 😎
