3 Months Update
Finally at the 3 month mark!! I should have now entered the party 😵💫
I swear the first 3 months take forever, especially when you’re looking at your hair every day.
Ive noticed over the past week or so, the outline/shadow of the transplanted hair has become noticeable around the temples and mini hairs are starting to sprout.
Still early days but looking forward to this next month.
Medication Update
Approximately 6 weeks after the surgery I started oral minoxidil 1.25mg. Will be increasing to 2.5mg soon (I’ve had no noticeable sides)
Donor area seems to have now recovered. Pretty much looks no different compared to before this second surgery - which I think is pretty good after another 1600 grafts 👌🏼

Thanks @Etownone
yes there is some overharvesting in that one section for sure. No one else has ever noticed apart from me (so I’m lucky it’s not too bad)
I think I’ll wait until 3 months as there’s nothing much to report… pretty much back to baseline how I looked pre-transplant 😅

Did you notice much of a difference between each dose @TheManeMan

Spot on. And how are your results from it? @Viney

Currently 6.5 weeks post 2nd op in which I have another thread linked.
I started using topical minoxidil again 10 days after surgery but can’t help myself from looking at the benefits and ease of oral 👀
There seems to be such conflicting information about the side affects depending on who you chose to watch and which side of the fence they sit on (pro vs against oral)
Overall, what are your thoughts on whether oral is worth it long term based on current research?
*if I did start, I’d start at 1.25mg per day the increase to 2.5mg after 2-3 months (based on research advice)

Looks great!
How are you feeling on Oral Minox?

The quality of the photos don’t seem to do it justice

Do you have any photos just before you started finasteride out of curiosity?

I’m a little over 1 month post surgery and seem to have bit of Shock Loss/Redness/Native Hair Colour change (in which the hairs have gone very light/almost grey haha) just above my ear on the left side where quite a few grafts were taken (See photos below in different lights)…
*I have a separate thread on here speaking about my 2nd procedure which was with Dr.Mwamba on the 1st February ‘24 (1600 grafts)*
The other side doesn’t look like this.
Does anyone have any idea how long this usually lasts for? (I was slightly worried that it was over harvesting but considering it was with Dr.Mwamba, I highly doubt it)

1 month
id say around 70% of transplanted hair has shed. My left temple point has pretty much completely shed (shown in the photo below). My right temple point has only shed approx 50%, so who knows if that will linger around or not over the next couple weeks.
It’s difficult to tell if the hair behind the hairline has shed due to the other hair… but I suppose it doesn’t matter if I can’t see it 😅
Donor is getting better although on my left side above my ear where a lot of hair were extracted, there seems to be a bit of noticeable redness/little bit of shock loss which hopefully will recover soon.

Day 20 | First hair cut
Had my first haircut today (3 weeks post op as of tomorrow). Couldn’t wait to tidy it up a bit and resemble somewhat of a normal style (although still needs growing out)
Transplanted hair I think is showing signs of beginning to shed (on my left temple peak mainly) so I’m preparing myself for the next few weeks!
My donor looks decent but I’m looking forward to seeing it once it has grown in, in another 4-6 weeks.

Looks good man! Similar to my design I’ve just had on my second op 👍🏼

DAY 10
Scabs are now approx 80% off. They’ve been coming off progressively over the past couple days.Overall, I think things are looking good!
Now the scabs are off, you can see the mini transplanted hairs popping through.
There are quite a few grafts behind the hairline which you can’t see very well due to the existing hair covering them.
donor seems to look pretty good too (I have had some itching over the past couple days)
Id say the only minor worry atm is that there seems to be a small noticeable separation between my transplanted right (my right) temple-point and the native hair behind it. I’m hoping when everything properly grows in it’s not noticeable (let me know your thoughts?)
the left (my left) temple-point doesn’t have this and looks great.

Donor 2 days post op
As you can see, the donor hair is longer across the midsection at the back, this is because Mwamba said he wasn't going to take any grafts from there due to the slight overharvesting from my first transplant.
FYI, I have just applied cream before this photo which is why my head is shiny.
Currently the head is itchy!!

Thanks man @WhatsHairGotToDoWithIt
one of the reason I chose Mwamba was because of his shorter waiting times.
from memory, it was around 3-4 months
