  1. Thank you!! 😁😁 I’m thinking the oral minoxidil has really changed my hair. I knew it felt so much different but my hairdresser confirmed today how much thicker and coarser it is. I’m definitely not upset about this as that just translates to me as stronger hair!
  2. Hey guys, I realized my recent updates weren’t super detailed photos wise and since I just got a haircut I figured I’d post a few more. I know I had a request to post in sunlight and I promise I will do that at my 5 month update! Also just wanted to note, I have not cut the top of my head at all yet and that is the reason for the difference in lengths between native and transplanted hair. My thoughts are that I’d be able to have natural longer hair sooner if I keep growing it out, instead of shorter blended hair now. hair natural From left from right brushed back left side brushed back All transplanted hair brushed down. Very little if any native hair in the forward section donor
  3. Flying is the safest form of long distance transportation the world has ever known. It’s far safer than driving a car, so try not to stress too much about that part. It’s almost impossible to get lost with a smart phone. Just make sure you contact your carrier before traveling to make sure you have some kind of international plan set up. Keep your phone on you and you won’t have any issues. Cuoto is one of the best, so as far as a bad outcome goes, you’ve done everything you can to avoid it. You are going to come out on the other side of all this wondering what you were so worried about 😉 congrats on taking the leap and good luck!
  4. 4 months have come and gone since my HT and it’s definitely been a roller coaster. At this point I’m fairly happy with the results and look far better than when I started. I’m excited for the hair to mature and grow over the next several months, and expect it to be a lot less anxiety inducing than the last 4 😂 I have reached a point where I can put a little hair fiber in and go out without a hat, and that in itself makes it worth it for me. A huge weight has been lifted and I’m so happy I finally did this. It feels like I have a new lease on life and I can’t wait to find my confidence again.
  5. I stayed in the Silken from the 20th - 29th if I remember correctly, and the extra nights that weren’t provided by the clinic + breakfast were about 1200 euros. If you have the ability to do this, I would highly recommend since you can go to the clinic on day 8 to have them wash. I received the blood test instructions as soon as I confirmed my date, along with all the other pre op instructions. I will send you a DM of what I received. as far as the hairline design went, I went in with the intention of lowering my hairline and I expressed that in my consultation. The doctor drew the hairline and I was immediately pleased. I think he probably starts at the most aggressive he is willing to go, and then depending on how conservative the patient wants to be, you can discuss how far up you want to push it. There was no discussion on my end as he had drawn my dream hairline from the jump. as far as what I’d do differently, I’d take more time off and go to València earlier to enjoy the city. It is absolutely beautiful. I walked around with a hat on my last day and was so sad I wasn’t able to see more. I’m 5’8 so unfortunately I can’t relate to the issues that arise with being tall 😂 but even I bumped my head in the cab on the way home after the 2nd day (no issues) so it’s important to be EXTREMELY cautions. Especially at 6’8.
  6. Thanks man! Seeing daily improvements at this point and can’t wait to see what’s in store over the next few weeks. You have made an amazing decision going with him for your surgery. I can say with the utmost confidence that you are in incredible hands. Let me know if you have any questions about anything as you get closer to / following your procedure. Im happy to answer!
  7. Couldn’t wait for 4 month update as the growth I’ve experienced over the last few weeks has been crazy and I have to share. It’s safe to say Dr. De Freitas changed my life and I never thought I’d be ready to say that at 3.5 months lol. So without further ado here is a pic from today at 3.5 months post op.
  8. Wow… those people sound like a great time🙃 I’d be looking for every excuse not to go. It’s already hard enough dealing with this process. Having a group of people dog you for a few hours about it definitely wont help.
  9. I just don’t think your expectations are realistic man. You want to be able to shave your head, but also want a 100% perfectly natural result. These two things usually don’t go hand in hand. Most hair transplants will look best grown out since it is an illusion of density, and the ability to create that illusion dwindles as the hair gets shorter. No cosmetic surgery will ever look 100% natural. Want to know why? Because it isn't natural.
  10. Hey guys, just got my first haircut post op so wanted to include a little update of my donor. Not really seeing any difference between pre op and post op. It looks nearly the exact same.
  11. Like I mentioned, they’d slide right out of any incision you make for them. There is no follicle to take root. Our scalp doesn’t work like a wig cap
  12. Because they would slide right out of your scalp, and they would never grow.
  13. Thank you! 😁 can’t wait for the next update. Luckily I work from home so I was able to remain somewhat private about it, but everybody in my inner circle knew that I was getting it done. The people I couldn’t hide it from lol. The new head of hair would be pretty difficult to explain otherwise 😂
  14. Hey man! Yes, when I first started noticing growth it was just a ton of peach fuzz and I wasn’t sure if it was the normal peach fuzz I had near my hairline, or if it was transplanted hair. Then they started getting much longer than the surrounding peach fuzz and after a few weeks I could really see them. Initially I could only see them in certain lighting but I could feel them.
  15. 3 month update Hey everyone, I’m just shy of 3 months post op so it’s time for an update! Since my last update I have noticed the transplanted hair continue to sprout. It seems like every day I can see a difference in density and thickness of the hair. Really excited to see what’s in store over the next few weeks. I can finally breathe knowing the hair is alive and well lol
  16. Hi guys, just wanted to make a post to include pics of my first signs of growth, since I found it somewhat hard to find close up high quality pics of early growth when I was doing my research. I started seeing hair sprout around 60 days post op, and while I still have a long way to go, at least seeing the hairs has been very reassuring. The longer thicker hair that you see is the transplanted hair that never shed.
  17. Hey everyone, just wanted to do a quick 2 month update. Everything seems to be on track, with new hairs popping up every day. I have especially noticed it in the last week and I hope I’m finally turning the corner and will see big growth through the next few months.
  18. My clinic gave me travel size spray bottles to transfer the saline solution into before my flight. You can get these from Amazon/Walmart/CVS if you’re unsure if the clinic will provide them to you.
  19. Congrats man! I actually was in Valencia for a little over a week so I was able to get it from a pharmacy there before I left. I’m not sure what I’ll do once that 90 day supply runs out. Let me know if you find somewhere with 5mg!
  20. 1 month update: Hey everyone! I wanted to provide a one month update. As you’ll see from the photos, I am deep in the ugly duckling phase. I noticed shedding up until the end of week 3 and from then it seems that the transplanted hair has stopped falling out. I am also noticing new hairs pop up every single day and am very excited for the journey. other than that, there really isn’t much to update on. I am still on oral min and fin and have not experienced any side effects. Redness in the recipient area is definitely subsiding as well.
  21. Shedding is absolutely normal at this point. I shed almost all the hair by the end of week 3. Don’t stress yourself out lol
  22. You definitely can fly if you choose to and I don’t think there’s any risk of grafts popping out from pressure. I just didn’t want to feel like my head was going to explode for 10 hours 😂 my swelling was BAD.
  23. Yea I think the clinic advises 10 days. Everywhere seems to have a different opinion on this, and really the only fear is the hat catching on a graft and pulling it out. A tall trucker hat that isn’t touching the grafts, and one that can be taken off from the snap back very carefully, should be fine after a week. I think clinics just like to be extremely safe with these recommendations.
  24. Here’s the graft breakdown for those that are curious. Still waiting on the official photos from the clinic but will post those as soon as I have them!
