  1. I believe Dr Mwamba is known for his repair work, maybe you should ask him for advice!
  2. Seems like a rip-off to me. What exactly costs that much in this treatment plan? For that amount he could get a good FUE + a year of medication.
  3. 5100 sure is a big number of grafts! No wonder you have some shock loss. Your donor definitely looks like that many were taken. Don't worry, it's going to get better!
  4. I meant pictures taken right after surgery, so we can see the punch marks
  5. The usual cause of over-harvesting is a bad extraction pattern, so it would be helpful if you could show us some post-op pictures of your donor area. Anyway, two weeks after your HT is waaaaay too early to worry about this, recovery from shock loss usually takes 3-6 months, and there's surely at least some shock loss going on here.
  6. Hi, the harvesting pattern doesn't look too bad, I guess this is mostly shock loss. I am 3 months past my HT and I am also experiencing some noticeable shock loss. Maybe you should have a look at the following thread: He had a very similar shock loss, still visible after 3 ½ months, and his donor dramatically recovered soon after. Don't get your hopes up too high though, it might take a few more months for you
  7. @Yako they quoted OP 4500 grafts then extracted 6000 and left him with a huge shock loss for months and possibly permanent overharvesting: seems like a red flag to me. The ugly duckling phase is already hard enough when you have a regular shock loss pattern, so I can't imagine what it's like having a huge gap like that in your hair for months.
  8. No worries and thanks for pointing it out! One of the two spots looks and feels like a small cyst, which I planned on having removed before my second HT anyway.
  9. Yeah I already had those before the transplant. I'm actually seeing a dermatologist later this week to have them checked :)
  10. [Update: 3 months] Finally reached the 3 months mark! I'm delighted to see some growth in the recipient area. Donor still looks the same though, I'm hoping for a significant change on that front in the coming months.
  11. Don't panic! Each clinic has its own set of (strict) rules, mine said 14 days and not 10, so you're still safe. Let the scabs soak, that should help
  12. It seems a bit odd that one clinic suggest 2.200 grafts and another one 4.000. They can't both be right! Could you show us some pictures of the area you want to cover?
  13. Don't worry! You seem to have shed a bit to later than most people since you only lost 25% after one month, so regrowth will start later as well :)
  14. You should definitely wait at least a few more months to see the results of fin&min! In any case, you seem to have very curly hair, which doesn't help for hair transplants: if you finally decide to get one, I suggest you do an extensive amount of research before choosing your clinic. 1500 grafts seems a bit low to cover that area.
  15. Hi, Most clinics will transplant up to 3-3.5K grafts in one session. If you're a NW 5 or 6, I guess you'll have to do two sessions: in that case, patients usually choose to do the hairline and midscalp first because that's what people see when they look at you, and the crown later with what's left of the donor. There are some doctors who will take much more grafts in one session, especially Zarev and Pitella. But I doubt any British Dr would go further than 3.5K. Some Turkish clinics pretend to, but you can never be sure of the actual number of grafts.
  16. Looks great! Can you tell us how many grafts were implanted in each area ?
  17. Doesn't look that bad to be honest! 5 and a half hours doesn't seem too short for only 1750 grafts and two technicians doing the extraction and implantation either. Anyway, the only thing you can do now is wait for the result
  18. [Update: 2 months] Here is the situation after 62 days: hasn't really evolved since last time, the shedding has stopped. Definitely feeling like an ugly duckling! People don't seem to notice it anymore though, in normal lighting my hair is now quite similar to what it looked like before the HT.
  19. Wow that's a massive improvement in such short time! My donor looks a bit like yours after two months, I'm hoping for a similar recovery
  20. Wow that's growing nicely already! Has your donor area fully recovered?
  21. The clinic is located in Levallois-Perret, just outside of Paris. It's a hair clinic, they don't do any other plastic surgery, which seems to be quite rare in France. The extractions were done by two technicians. I paid 3500€ for the transplant (which includes the post-op treatment: minoxidil and supplements, as well as three follow-up visits).
  22. Yep, I'm not expecting miracles in terms of thickness, the doctor told me what to expect. If I'm satisfied with the results, I'll go back for a second HT next year!
  23. The picture of the recipient area was taken 3 weeks post-op; some of the grafts have shed since. Here is a picture 7 weeks post-op:
