https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC9008875/ https://www.science.org/doi/10.1126/science.aba2374 Regeneration without scarring Wounds in adult mammals typically heal by forming fibrotic scars. Mascharak et al. found that a specific population of skin fibroblasts (Engrailed-1 lineage–negative fibroblasts) activate expression of Engrailed-1 and turn on profibrotic cellular programs in response to local tissue mechanics in wounds (see the Perspective by Konieczny and Naik). When mechanical signaling was inhibited in these cells (using either genetic deletion or small-molecule inhibition), skin wounds in mice no longer formed scars but instead healed by regeneration, restoring skin with normal hair follicles and glands, extracellular matrix, and mechanical strength. Believe me square...i feel ur frustration... I'm not happy about this..this sucks and i just want him to update in some way, either verbally, in written form or by uploading a video update... it's easier to get updates from Dr Bargouthi because he updates us directly on the forum and we can tag him so when he's not busy he sees that, and he is a member of the community, I'm not sure if Dr Bloxham is. I think the best thing we can do with Dr Bloxham is have someone see him regularly as a client, and ask him in person and then relay the information back to us here. I think someone said they are going to see him for a consultation, so they might get an update for us.

this doesn't make sense to me...for docs to suddenly decide to make their trials secret, because the cat's out of the bag already...there would be no point in doing that, the word of mouth has been spreading like wildfire..we now have dermatologists interested in doing trials on scar patients... this isn't something u can really keep secret... i think it's more likely that they are busy more than anything

that question has a complicated answer, because it's a protein that performs Many functions, but for our purposes for skin and hair regeneration, the YAP (Yes Associated) Protein tells skin fibroblasts after a wound occurs to quickly put down layers of collagen at the wound site resulting in the formation of a scar. Verteporfin blocks YAP signaling to allow the fibroblast cells to create normal functional skin with its appendages including sweat glands and more importantly hair follicles

Someone in the verteporfin research telegram is saying they healed their scar on their left leg with topical simvastatin, and the hair grew back as well. Wow! could it be a YAP inhibitor perhaps. They posted pics as well and it does seem to show hair growing out of the area I found an harvard publication that may suggest that statins may be a modulator of fibrosis and promote YAP inhibition. https://bioinformatics.sph.harvard.edu/publications/screening-yap-inhibitors-identifies-statins-modulators-fibrosis

do we have any update from Dr Bargouthi when he will begin the full fue verteporfin trial? How will he do a full fue trial without a control, i think it will be better if he leaves a small area for control and divides the rest of the scalp into several test areas where he injects the verteporfin in different concentrations/doses and that he marks the different sections or even the individual extraction sites. Either that or leave no control but mark the invidual hair follicle extractions with smp, or electronically or something

I will say this though...they will fail if they are trying to do that. It's already taken off like wildfire , the verteporfin research telegram gets alot of traffic , we have several people already interested in getting scar revision procedures done with verteporfin, and are reaching out to doctors in their respective countries to test it on their scars. It's amazing and we have a redditor who will be testing it this month with microneedling as well

it's really perplexing that we saw hairs growing directly out of a FUT scar in Dr Bloxham's pictures...what on earth could those be if not verteporfin induced hair regrowth. We know that with traditional FUT zero hairs are supposed to grow out of the scar..but we see hairs growing directly smack dab in the middle of the FUT scar region where verteporfin was injected, two or three hairs in single spot in some cases, sure it didn't show dozens or hundreds of hairs like Dr Bargouthi's patient..but it's still something.

btw everyone i joined a verteporfin telegram for people with scars, they are very interested and they will be testing it on their scars probably with scar revision. They have a doctor that has access to verteporfin that will be administering it i believe , so we should have more cases soon. Also someone on Reddit is ordering verteporfin next week, he will be doing a microneedling test! I'll update you if i get any further information on these.
