  1. Thanks guys. I think thats good advice...I wll keep up with once a day..
  2. I have been taking 1/4 proscar everyday for the past 3 years... I have read some post here of people taking it every other day, is this as affective? I hate taking medication (I don't even use Tylenol) and if I could cut this back without adverse affects that would be great... However my main concern is hairloss..

  4. I forgot to mention that he used Absorbable stitches and about 5 non-absorbable which he removed about 5 days after surgery.
  5. Bill, He did use the trichophytic closure method. I can feel a very slight raise in the scar, maybe a 1/4 of the width of the redness...I am hoping this will be the size when healed. I am using aloe, bio-oil, and a silicone scar gel...maybe a bit excessive.
  6. Hi NervousNelly , Thanks for your response. I completely understand the need for scrutiny on this site.. its a huge discussion, and one I will not be completely comfortable with until I see the results. Regarding my scar, I am very concerned about it.. I have worn a hat for the past month and was really hoping that it would not be so noticeable by now...I go back to work in a week and cant wear a hat...I tend to hold redness in scars for sometime and my hair is light and fine which makes it worse.. I'm a little (a lot) stressed about the whole thing.
  7. Thanks for your feedback...It differently helps. My doctor was Dr. Pathomvanich in Bangkok. It seems that non-coalition members and S.E Asia seem to be a bit controversial on this site...but for the most part I have been pretty happy with it. Not overly keen about my appearance at the moment but I know its all part of it...
  8. Hey everyone,Just thought I would post some one month photos of my 2080 grafts. Would love to get some feedback from the veterans out there on my healing progress and what the results might be density etc..Thanks guys! 11 weeks, thought I would update! Just a bit on my experience with Dr. path... I arrived in Bangkok the night before my HT. I had my consultation at Bumrungrad hospital with Dr. Path and his team the following afternoon. He told me I was a good canadate and we decide on a hair line, Dr. Path said 2000 grafts densely packed would give me excellent results and ensured me I would be very happy... I was very impressed with Dr. P, his team and the hospital itself. The following morning we meet back at the hospital for my procedure. We discussed the hairline again I was given Valium and was taken into the operating room. I was given the needles for freezing all the time being massaged which helped to take my mind off the needles, it wasn't that bad at all. Throw the entire surgery Dr.P and his team ensured I was comfortable while they did their work. After surgery they went over my after care instructions and set up an appointment for a wash the next day. I put on my hat and walked the two blocks to my hotel...easier then going to the dentist! The next day I had my wash meet the guy who had his procedure done after mine, I believe Dr.P does two a day. I spent just under a week in Bangkok before getting the few non-absorbable stitches out. And left with my hat on to travel around for the next month before Flying back to Vancouver. All and all my experience was good as you can see by reading my past posts I have and still have concerns its all part of it I guess. At 5 months my scars still very pink, but I do believe when the pink goes it will be difficult to find. As for my recipient area I have yet to see much action only time will tell!
  9. I just got off the plane today, I was asked at the four separate security points to take of my hat off and I just discreetly asked the officers if I could leave it on as I have stitches underneath... everyone said fine and swiped the hand wand detector over my head and I went on my way, no problems.
  10. Maybe I'm stressing out too much, but I am almost at a month and my donor is still bright red...I have been looking at other pics on here and haven't noticed as much redness...besides the redness...I think it looks OK and to touch it I can hardly notice any raised area....is this OK? am I worrying too much?

  12. How long does it take for the donor area to somewhat heal (scab free)...I'm only at 12 days but it still is one big thick scab....I know this is early but it is very obvious as my hair is short blond and fine...also how early can I start using aloe on both recipient and donor? my recipient has no more scabs...just very red. thanks for any advice!!!

  14. Just wondering if anyone has suggestion on limiting redness of both the donor and recipient area....I am on day 9 post surgery and although I know its early I have a history of lasting redness with scars...I was thinking maybe cortisone? any suggestions on what worked for you would be appreciated.

  17. I just had my first hair restoration of 2100 grafts done 5 days ago and as they shaved back all my existing hairline to make it easier and I guess more affective to implant the new grafts, I was wondering if my original shaved hairs will grow back as normal or will they all suffer shock loss as well...I head back to work in 3 weeks and want to look somewhat like I did when I left...I don't want it to be obvious what I did...any help? Very Corncerned!

  19. I will be having hair restoration in a couple months in Thailand with Dr. Damkerng Pathomvanich... just hoping I could get a few questions answered... In general how long does the receipt and donor areas stay red? is there anything I can do to help it? I don't use Rogain now just proscar... should I use it on my donor are, receipt area after? When will it look like pre-surgery? I will be gone for a month will it be noticeable that anything was done when I return home? When will I be able to swim? Any Recommendation for faster healing and for less scaring? Will wearing a hat everyday for the first month cause any problems? Thanks in Advance
