  1. 9 Month update The first photo is with no product. The next two are with Toppik and in different lighting. The last is what it looks like from the front obviously. How we looking for this far in?
  2. It cost 127,000 Thai baht. I can’t remember the exact cost per graft but it was very cheap for a doctor who only does one surgery a day and is very hand on. The clinic is fairly new so I’m sure prices will rise pretty quickly once they get their reputation going. I stayed around the corner in a cheap hotel in Bangkok for around $30 AUD/night. Yeah I didn’t realise how much area I had to cover until I saw the photos from above my head. Before that I actually thought my balding was minimum and had just begun. How wrong I was! I’m hoping to avoid a second surgery with the growth that’s still to come plus hair fibres. It’s looking alright from the front and sides, just a bit thin/fluffy still.
  3. If you started Finasteride after getting those transplant results, it could just be an initial shed which is completely normal when starting meds. I’m surprised the clinic couldn’t tell you this. Stay on the medication and wait another 6 months then judge the situation.
  4. Thanks Gatsby! That’s reassuring to hear. I was under the impression that majority of results would be known by 6 months with only small improvements in maturity and density of current hairs. Do more transplanted hairs actually start coming through after this point?
  5. Thanks. I do hope the mid and crown grows in more to prevent a second transplant.
  6. 6 Month Update. I’ve taken a few photos in different lighting. I was a pretty early grower, but hopefully more growth to come, especially around the mid/crown as I feel like it’s still lacking a bit. Thoughts?
  7. I was getting absolutely hammered on a weekly basis from around day 10 after my surgery and results looking good after 4 months. I think some of us are way too cautious when it comes to hair transplants. What you eat or drink isn’t going to dramatically affect your results.
  8. Had a FUE procedure 2.5 weeks ago and was sleeping on my side normally after 3-4 days.
  9. No idea what you’re worried about. The hairline design looks great and suits you.
  10. Yeah, we only had 3500 grafts to work with in the session and concentrated on the front third. My diffuse thinning was pretty bad so I expected the whole mid/crown area not to be densely packed. Hopefully once I grow it out again styling my curly hair in certain ways will be able to give illusion of density in those thin areas. Might use hair fibres as well. I wish Minoxidil didn’t give me side effects as I think that would really help my hair in that area with all the miniaturised hairs.
  11. You mean it looks like there’s more thin areas in the middle that need to be transplanted into? Keep in mind we only had 3500 grafts to work with in the session so had to distribute these in the most important areas first. A second surgery is a possibility down the line but I’m hoping with my curly hair, growing it longer will still give the illusion of solid density as it is.
  12. Just an update 10th day after surgery. How are the grafts and donor area looking?
  13. Just an update on 10th day after surgery. How is it all looking, grafts and donor area?
  14. Yeah, hopefully it stabilised my DHT and hair loss enough to prevent permanent shock loss. I still had a lot of miniaturised hairs.
  15. This is what I always thought, but I hear ”permanent shock loss” thrown around quite a bit on these forums.
  16. Thanks. Fingers crossed. Hopefully I’m not at high risk of shock loss due to implanting between hair that is diffuse thinning.
  17. Yes, been on Finasteride for 10 months and Dutasteride twice a week for around 3 months.
  18. Hi everyone, This was the card I was given after my recent 3500 graft FUE procedure. A few questions: 1) Is having so many doubles but not many singles and triples normal? I also thought quadruples were possible. 2) Do the density measurements seem like it’ll give the end result enough density? 40 grafts/cm2 at the front seems low? I’ve also attached pre and post surgery photos of my hair. Thanks!
  19. Will do. Fingers crossed I do get the results I’m after. Any other opinions? seems to be crickets around here when it comes to anyone not on the forum list lol.
  20. I don’t understand how a soft pillow can dislodge grafts after a few days when you’re putting more pressure on the grafts even just washing your hair gently.
  21. Hi all, Thought I’d share my experience of having 3507 grafts done via FUE method at a clinic not much spoken about around these forums. Obviously I’m still waiting for the results, but so far I’m very happy with the experience from their constant communication through WhatsApp, easy booking process, brutal honesty about my situation and their own capabilities, and the doctor’s knowledge and passion for her field. The process all began at 7am yesterday morning and finished around 4.30pm. I was changed into a robe and slippers, had to my hair washed, original photos were then taken from all different angles. After this I finally met Dr. Patty who was a delight and spoke good English. She assessed my hair and recommended that I do not lower the hairline any further as through the rule of thirds the distance between my eyebrows and bottom of hairline was already shorter than the distances between eyebrows and bottom of nose and bottom of nose and chin so she thought it would look strange. This also meant we had more grafts to increase density on my all-around diffused thinning and reinforce the current thinning hairline I already had. She then drew on the hairline and had assistants double check that it looked alright. More photos were then taken and it was time for surgery to begin. In the surgery room, there was Dr. Patty and several other assistants. They were all pretty quiet and respectful throughout the whole process. The surgery ended up taking longer than expected as there were some issues with laying face down for the extracting. It was so painful that they had to move me to my side for parts of it, which apparently made the graft extracting process longer. The implantation stage also took longer than expected at around 3.5 hours as apparently I had tough skin in my head and grafts kept popping out. In the end, the dedicated team kept working, apologising for how long it was taking, and got the job done. I also liked how they kept giving me more anaesthesia (and massaging my feet while injecting it) to keep me as comfortable as possible. The chicken stir fry was a nice lunch too! I have a follow up appointment today for a hair wash, LLT and bandage removal which I’m looking forward to. I’ll add some photos and you can judge the work for yourself. A few questions: Does it look like clean work? Does 3507 grafts seem about right? Could I have gone any lower with the hairline for maximal aesthetic appearance? I’ll add a photo of the donor area when I have the bandage removed later.
  22. Would you agree with this? They encouraged me to sleep on my back using a neck pillow for the first night (which has been absolute hell) but are saying it’s fine to go back to normal sleeping on my side on the second night. I had 3500 grafts done to the hairline/frontal area, mid scalp and crown but no temple work.
  23. Just finished my hair transplant in Thailand at HairTran Clinic and thought I’d share some photos. How many grafts do you estimate it to be and what do you think of the work?
