The studies have been with 2% so if you can get it, it’s much better. But 1% still works.

I'm not completely clued in on Keto. It says that it attacks the fungi that leads to dandruff.

But it also helps with hair growth?

And if it works, then how soon after a HT would you use it?

Agree. For a caucasian man, this how that would look like:

Even if he started to bald, he would have a very, very high number of FU in his donor area, and he would need to use less than others with different hair characteristics to cover the same balding area. Basically, cheat code hair type.

He still has quite a high hair-skin contrast. With lighter colored hair it would be even more optimal.

...also, a buzzcut is a really bad choice when it comes to seeing the benefits of an HT. You want 6-8cm's of hair length for it to achieve it's maximum coverage value. Also agree with the colleagues, the yield does seem rather poor.

    I'm not sure about this.

Long hair with this low density will just make it look like a comb-over. He has some pics where he left it that long, and it looks completely see-through and not very good.

I would personally prefer a buzz-cut that looks neat than a comb-over and the social shame that comes with obviously trying to hide it.

The "wow" type of results come from patients who have thicker dark coarse hair and are able to tolerate Finasteride. This includes advanced NWs. Of course this is for those who have gone with an elite surgeon and had excellent work done, not for all cases.

For the rest of us with fine or average hair caliber I think you have to go denser at 60-70 grafts/cm2 for the hairline and also try to stick with Fin as much as possible, to approach the same level of density.

Bandit has fine light coloured hair. Karl has light coloured hair.

I don't think you can say that it has to be dark hair.

Another issue is the scalp to hair colour difference, which usually makes black hair more difficult to achieve satisfactory illusion with than a hair colour such as Bandit's.

So yeah, I don't think "dark thick hair" is necessarily the holy grail. Coarse certainly will help, but dark can be a hindrance.

What do you think of this man's hairline? It is concave. I do wonder how he'd look if he brought down the centre point a few millimetres. But I think most of us would love to have his hair anyway.

Interested in what OP thinks of this too.

He has a handsome face and everything going for him. His hairline is not one of these things. Of course it looks quite good and young, but I certainly think it could be better by being more convex. It would send a (subconscious) message "adult male", and from an evolutionary psychology point of view that would be a good thing. However, he is still young and could be 20-30 years old, so it's still not weird. If someone wants an extremely low hairline as an adult (which I'm not sure always looks good - for one thing because many have forehead muscles that would make it impossible) that also looks good 40/50 and above and not look too androgynous, then I think Brolin's hairline is just about the optimum.

This discussion reminds me of how men think that women want in men what men want in women - and women also think that men want in women what women want in men. Both are mostly wrong.

  6. Interesting topic about hairlines. Personally I think juvenile hairlines (before the onset of puberty and testosterone) look like that to me. Like there is a lack of testosterone. Usually in an 8 year old we know what the reason is, but in an older person it just looks weird with a concave hairline.

I guess tastes vary. But do some people actually like these concave hairlines? Sure, they look cute in kids, but in a grown up? Here is an example of a guy with somewhat of a concave hairline and it might be natural (?) but it looks anything but good to me. Brolin above has an extremely low hairline, but still very convex with clear male temples. Although Brolin's hairline is extremely low it still looks good.

  7. 1_asdqaweqwe.pngI guess Doctors and clinics are trying to avoid the many examples of people who end up looking weird although their goal was to look younger.

We know this has happened across such vanity operations (like HTs). We all know countless examples I'm sure - traditionally of women like Madonna, Cher and whoever else. And in recent year men are also starting along the same.

For example Cowell, who may have smoother skin, and a socalled juvenile hairline.... but to quote Bill Burr "why do these people prefer to look like a 25 year old lizard, rather than a 50 year old human?".

I guess a counter argument to how these doctors see it might be that HTs do not have the same risks as other plastic operations etc.

Day 1 finish in Eugenix good and bad news.

Good news- they told me that my donor area is good & hope to take 4500 graphs. I was absolutely delighted this cost a bit extra but I felt like I won the lotto. As they taught donor area was poor from pictures so was originally placed for 3200 graphs. But 4500 would be full coverage.

Bad news- when Dr Das started making the slits my head oozed a lot so she had to stop. Back tomorrow & Thurs. But my flight home is thurs at 9pm local.. so they don't know if they get it all done in time depends on ooze. The hav given me tablets to help for tonight and tomorrow so please god they work 🙏

Picture below is of 2700 incisions she done today.

Anybody any similar problems with oozing?

    Hello dear forum participants,

maybe you can support me a little bit in the decision making process. For various reasons, I prefer doctors from Turkey (for example, I have friends there and it is not far from my home). I have 3 doctors in the short list (Gur, Turan, Yaman). I know that it is recommended to do several HTs and wait after each, but I know that I will most likely do only one HT. Therefore a good/passable result after the first HT would be my goal.

    1) Turan rejected me and told me to take medication for 1 year
    2) Gur said 3000 grafts in one day from donor area would be possible
    3) Yaman said 4500 grafts (if needed also from beard or hand possible)

Who would you recommend for my case looking at my hair and considering my above mentioned wishes/goals.
Thank you very much. I appreciate any advice, just please no recommendations that I should fly to Mexico or Asia for the HT. This is not in accordance with my wishes. Thank you!

I agree with Turan. That is the most sage advice of the three.

Yeah, here’s his 12 months update. Looks great. If I get to approximately that point I think I may be completely fulfilled and satisfied, or at least as close to it as possible with the one big procedure I’ve already had!

Etwan. You are ahead of me in the timeline. I would be curious to learn what your thoughts are now that you are almost 6 months in? What about the current state makes you insecure? Any contexts where you feel comfortable not using hat or anything? If your remaining issue is density, then how much more density do you think you would need to feel secure to not use a hat in social situations?

    Hi

It’s  day 10 for me after my hair transplant. Scabs aren’t really shifting, nervous to touch them. I’ve read it’s quite important to get rid of them to allow grafts to breathe. Just shampooing with sebamed shampoo.

Hair doesn't 'breathe' like a plant. Hair get zero oxygen or anything else from the air. It get all of that from the blood supply. Still you should of course get rid of the scabs soon to give the hairs room to grow. Some say 10 days some say 14 days.

In regards to being scared of touching them, they are pretty well locked in now and you won't loose them by just touching them.

Yeah, I think some people get super perfectionist in this entire world of hair. In reality, most adult men do not have perfect heads of hair; the majority show some amount or area of loss, and for those of us who had so much of our natural youthful expectations aggressively taken away from us, our main goal is simply to get a good amount of hair back on our heads that looks presentable.

I honestly can’t really even put into words how renewed I feel, after not even 6 months. The change in confidence and personal acceptance is indescribable.

That's great to hear mate. I am looking forward to your next pics.

Well I would like more coverage/density on top. Them picture are under direct light. But I have seen well worse cases on this forum and have gotten HT to good effects. Like I reckon a good 4000 grafts would be enough bear in mind that be double my last HT There is a different 100% just not a great one but have since learnt 2000 grafts is not a lot. but my misses things I lost a bit of my natural hair since my HT in her words my hair was a lot thicker a few moths after my HT. but to said my hair is to extreme for a HT is a bit over the top. Like this is a hair forum and there lads nearly bald on this.. I thick my hair lost has stabilised now as well

My concern is why the first doctor said you didn't have more than 2000 grafts?

If he just really bad and needed to use your entire donor to get 2000 living grafts out of it, or what is the reason?
