  1. Which clinic?

Seems about right for 2k grafts to me. Also Minoxidil could be masking the results as well, those vellus hairs could be native hair popping up from minoxidil rather than transplanted hairs. This is why Minoxidil after HT shouldn’t be used, at least not on HT region if you want to judge the Ht properly

Wow. Body dysmorphic disorder? Really? Is that your medical opinion, doctor?

Your statement is based on an opinion that you formed based on your own laymen knowledge. I sincerely doubt that you are a medical professional. You are out of line for it.

It is completely disrespectful to make a statement like that on a thread where a person wanted to get a little hairline work done. It’s not what this forum was designed for. Everyone on this forum is here because they’re suffering in some capacity due to hair loss and are looking at their options. Everyone is here to discuss, find their doctor, or share their experience.

Lastly. This should not be discussed on OP’s thread. Make your own thread and happily debate it there.

I, personally, will not discuss it further.

I do hope that OP comes back to update. I would love to see his progression.

Chill bro, BDD isn’t some “oh he’s crazy psycho” disorder. I would imagine all of us suffer from it for some part of our body to some degree. It’s not disrespectful at all. You’re overreacting a bit.

Just forget about the clinic or touch ups or whatever. Refund is obviously out of the question, I haven’t seen elite doctors offer free touch ups much less refunds, this is a hairmill after all and I would be surprised if any sort of that happens. Even if they offer free touch up, are you going to take it?? Of course not - I suppose that is the acid test here. I had looked back on the "planetstephen" stuff before and there was another post where they have offered a refund/discount to a client. Their next step here is important and I will keep this thread updated with the feedback. If they care about turning around their reputation, because it has clearly been declining the last few years, then their communication with after care is crucial.

The really frustrating part is that my two friends went to Hair of Istanbul and they got better results.

Yeah, obviously if they offer a refund that would be the best but I would be really surprised if that happens. From what I heard Erdogan used to be really great and that’s where all the old recommendations are from then he just scaled his operation up to like high class hairmill lol, the video tour JT did of his clinic, it’s the most beautiful clinic I have seen for a HT clinic.

Well, that’s the thing about hairmills. It’s a lottery and the result depends on which techs get to operate on you. Your friends won the lottery it seems, you didn’t

mixed feeling on these sides tbh, one of the reason we want hair is the sexual or general appeal since mostly we'd be more desirable, but at the same time, crippling our sexual function is pretty much counterproductive, and would be depressing and stressful, at the same level of getting bald.

That’s exactly it. You get the girl but if you can’t do much with that, what’s the point 😂

I can assure you it wasn't funny. I can usually make things work with hairspray but sometimes it's annoying as hell.

Oh, I know it would’ve been terrible for you going through that. Sorry that was bit insensitive of me.

I guess the positive is that the density seem OK for the number of grafts implanted. Maybe you can grow your hairs out long and it would be better. Shorter hair definitely don’t look that great or hard to style.

I would like to give you the contact details of dr. Pekiner's representative but i can't send private messages anymore. Yesterday i tried to start a thread about my recent procedure with dr. Pekiner but it still hasn't been approved by the moderator.  This entire dr. Pekiner thing here has become ridiculous. It's obvious personal feelings have become involved with this entire situation. I thought it was all about helping each other. Pinto and De Freitas have super long waiting lists. Dr. Pekiner is a great option as he has great results ( as you can see on this forum), his waiting list is not super long and for a affordable price. Take a look at Jarrod's results for example. That results is up there with the best of results.

This forum is great and it has helped a lot of people including me, make a good decision for a doctor but this Pekiner situation has become very weird in my opinion.

You have very valid points, having as many doctors in many locations is needed for patients especially when the wait times are ridiculous for so many of these doctors. Not just that, the money they charge too. Clearly the supply demand is working in their favour and they’re taking full advantage of it.

But I have noticed Melvin really has a lot of patience and I admire the way he moderates/administers the forum as someone who has experience running forums, I don’t display such patience. So if Melvin banned a good doctor (?) like him, it wouldn’t have been a light decision.

I think it’s easy to forget that just because surgeons are great at HT doesn’t mean they’re great human beings too. As you spend time here, you start to understand that how a surgeon is as a person is a different thing than how his skills as a surgeon. Dr House was a d1ck but he was great doctor 😄

  7. This is perfect example of why tools don’t matter but the hand that wields those tool does. You would drool over the quality of the tools that asmed uses, it’s really some high class stuff but useless at hands of techs.

I guess the positive is it’s not that terrible of a result and will require a few more grafts to fill in the gaps/density. What I mean is it’s not the only elite super expensive surgeon can repair terrible result, any competent non-hairmill surgeon will fix you right up.  Shame 3200 grafts could’ve been incredible density for your level of loss but it’s a hairmill after all.

Of course not

The next clinic you choose please stay away from hairmills. Any doctor from this forum recommended list will be good enough to have 90% graft survival and nicely plant few hairs in the gaps.

  8. I used 0.2-0.5mg finasteride every other day for two years, near the end of 2 years I would take it after 3 or 4 days ( twice a week ) because I didn’t care or would forget. Maintained hairs well and had thickening as well. I am quite surprised people say fin doesn’t work when I took it so low dose and infrequent and my hairloss is aggressive yet it worked, I lost so much hair in just 40+ days that I am fin free.

I don’t consider dutasteride an option. No way. Maybe topically but there has to be large scale double blinded placebo controlled randomised proper trials that show dutasteride doesn’t get absorbed into bloodstream at all.

  9. I see what you mean about the comb over, it’s kind of funny 😆, sorry I had a laugh imagining him groaning and grunting for an hour while implanting hairs.

Sounds like a terrible experience and the hairline is funny like that done by crap hairmill. Maybe he was having a bad day or just didn’t like you. I don’t know why else would a doctor show his annoyance verbally for an hour. I am sure no doctor enjoys implanting hairs as its menial boring work but they hide their annoyance.

Maybe you can use hair spray to tame those wild hairs

Everyone deals with hair loss in their own very personal way. Not to demean what you’re saying because there was a lot of hair there already but OP was dealing with a receding hairline and it obviously affected him to the point where he wanted to correct it. If he has the means (both monetarily and donor-wise) to fix that then who is anybody else to say otherwise?

I, personally, would also like to see an update.

In other words BDD ( Body dysmorphic disorder )

It can make the situation look worse to the sufferer than to the outside world.

I still don't know to what you're referring by 10-15%.

Also when did Melvin hop on topical Dut?

The usual formulation contains Minoxidil 50 mg/ml (5%w/v)

So 10-15% means more minoxidil mg in the same amount of water/solvents as normal formulation. I hate chemistry but this is pretty basic math here

I thought Melvin used xyonhealth which was topical dut but now I see it’s topical fin.
