If white hairs are not many in the donor, it is usually possible to be more selective of the non white hairs to the best of our ability. However, if that black hair was to become white in the future, then it will become white in the recipient area later on.  The donor area runs from one side of the ears to the other, including the back part of your scalp ofcourse.
As for cloning, there seems to be some steady steps. One group in particular are allowed to “ store” follicles in a tissue lab for further research and development. This was a good milestone in that regard. However, it will be still few years mostly before anything materializes- provided everything goes at a good pace.
I would add Ketoconazole (Nizoral) shampoo twice a week to be used. It is an anti dandruff shampoo, but it could have some role in reducing DHT levels in the scalp. Caffeine based shampoos can also be used other days as there is some weak evidence that these can also positively affect hair.

@DrTBarghouthi is it safe to use Ketoconazole shampoo shortly after a hair transplant?

For myself I first developed sexual side effects after 2 months (roughly) on 1mg a day. For others it can be ten months later and for some it’s been stated that side effects have occurred after less than one week. I think the best thing is to not even focus or to try and think about side effects. I thought I was fine because after a month nothing had changed.
If however side effects do occur then simply cease the drug. My sex drive came back after a week with a bang! I tried Finasteride a second time micro dosing up to 1mg every second day. By six months after I reached 1mg my libido disappeared again! I’m no longer on the drug. I may choose to go back to 0.5mg every second day (which I was fine on before).

I had ED for years aftewards...yeah yeah could've beeen due to other reasons but my doctor thinks it was due to fin.

It is all relative.. At the end HTs are all about demand and supply. Some say that a good HT patient should not be dependant on Finansteride cause he may not be able to commit to the medication for life.

Also some patients not on Finansteride with the right caracteristics carry a lesser end risk than other patients on Finansteride.

That being said, for younger patients, with more aggressive hair loss Propecia is a almost a must.

Very true. As men get older they produce less DHT, so less need for medication.
