hi friends,I've been using minoxidil only on the crown area as i was aware of that it will have its effects only on crown area, but my doctor insists me to apply on front area as well but since that was transplanted i've never bothered to apply.But after last week's visit to my doctor i've started applying minox on frontal area(which has some native hairs and transplanted hairs) then after few days(9-10 days) the hair of frontal area became very thin and im very upset that i was losing density.I immediately stopped applying minox on frontal area.Has anyone faced this problem,Is it fine if i don't apply the minox on frontal area since already hair transplantation is done at that area.Can i regain my thicker density of hair?Please advise.

leonardonw1, yes agreed with all get on to finpecia even im also on it.It really helps us to save hair. But on a side note avoid masturbating daily since finpecia has known to make semen thinner!!!!! also some times less volume to some people which will make you frustrated and worry more!!!! if you see your semen.But that varies from person to person. some of my mates tell me that finpecia decreased their libido level which helped them to eliminate this excessive masturbation habit!!

Hi mates, I would like to post my 3 months update today after having surgery @ Dr.Madhu.I guess the growth has already started!!!!Is it the normal growth expected after 3 months or is it finasteride effect???Please have a look @ my hair blog in the moving signature. Appreciate your comments.

hi azazelgs, Not sure about the sexual boost due to intake of propecia(very strange), but some studies especially ayurvedic studies in india that excessive masturbation viz every day could eventually causes thinning of hair. It's general common sense that too much is too bad...one should not be addicted/get controlled by one's habits. One should master their habits but not habits should not master one. Sorry i might have gone off the topic...:-)

hi jon jones, Im from india, Here doctor has prescribed Candid Tv shampoo manufactured by Glenmark pharmaceuticals ltd and antibacterial lifebuoy soap.Im not sure whether these product are available in your country.But i can tell you the compositions of the shampoo. Candid Tv shampoo : Clotrimazole IP 1% w/v , Selenium Sulfide USP 2.5% W/v. I think shampoos having compositions of these chemicals might help. I would suggest you hold back for HT surgery for while till this flakes problem is solved because this condition may some times makes the situation worse after HT.Because HT itself brings up lot of other itching effects and scabs. Consult your HT doctor and ask if they could able to perform successfully with this existing problem. Also better consult some good dermatologist and discuss your problem with doctor. All the best :-)

hi jon jones, I think you are facing scalp psoriasis or sebarrhoic dermatis.It looks similar to my story.I suffered this same problem for about 13 long years.Initially i thought that this could be a dandruff problem and someone told me to rub lime on the scalp which actually cures dandruff but that was of no use, I used all kind of oils, herbal rememdies but everthing went invain. Then i applied anti dandruff shampoos for 10 years but still the problem persisted.Then i consulted one good dermatologist, he told me that it is scalp psoriasis and this can only be cured if we keep our head clean and tidy, there can be no.of reasons for this problem but the solution would be wash your hair daily with antibacterial soap and any good coaltar shampoo.

hi gtz101, It's better you contact them directly through phone, As there will be huge no.of mails they recieve they may not be able to reply your query.According to my knowledge dr.madhu performs 2-3 surgeries per day, and you may not be able to have your surgery done immediately after consultaion.Even in my case i've waited for 2 weeks to get date slot. It's required to book your surgery date in advance. I haven't heard that he gives exact no. of grafts estimates looking at your pictures.But i think it's possible to identify patients NW class with the help of high quality pictures. Also, He examines your donor area personally as how many grafts he can extract from single strip. so, it's advisable to contact them on phone if you could not hear them thru mail. All the best!!!

hi subbu, Before performing surgery he will mention how many grafts are required.If say grafts required are 2500 - 3000 then its totally our choice whether to go for 2500 exactly or more and they will note down the exact no. of grafts on your profile document. The same happened with me, he mentioned i required 2500 - 3000 grafts, i went for 2500 grafts. As far as i remember he won't compell/force us to go for x.number of grafts.

Dear shines, I can understand your problem. Till now i've not met any madhu's patients who have done post 1year HT.Im saying this because only after 1 year transplanted hairs will gain complete maturity. Yes i totally agree with your two points mentioned.There can be possibility that people can create fake ID's and promote doctor. Regarding believing the before and after HT pics :-(.Let me tell you something... I met with one of my colleague who had HT with Doctor pulli ravindra reddy(pacific hospitals), although he's happy with his surgery, i could still see his skin peeping through his hair. I've even saw few pictures on this forum who had transplants from Dr.Ashok,Dr.Ravindra reddy from hyderabad im not convinced with the pics as there were lot of gaps between the follicles and after meeting with Dr.Madhu as per my knowledge he told me that they can place 60 grafts per sq cm which is very good and gives us natural look. I've believed the above said statement because just immediately after hair transplant i look into the mirror myself, he beautifully placed the grafts very closely which would surely gives me good result after 1 year. If you think im a fake id guy!!!!!! just blabbering about good points about madhu then i can meet you personally as i also stay in hyderabad working in software company.

Yep, here in india, they ask us to get these following tests: a)HIV b)Hepatitis -B c)Blood clotting.

Hi Confused123, Use any mild shampoo on your Transplanted area, Rub gently in the forward direction, do not rub in the reverse direction.Use palms(not fingers) upto 2 weeks post operation.Because after 2 weeks the grafts will get stable in your scalp.Later you can slowly use fingers(but never scratch with your nails) If you want to get rid off scabs,rub gently in a circular fashion(as told by Bill) I've applied the same instructions as above, it was useful to me. If you did not find it useful, you can consult your doctor or can search for more links on this forum.
