hey man. Thanks for your reply. Do you have any update pics?
i am at 6.5 months with the same dr and mine is also not looking to good.

did you do anything different this time except the shampoo?

If you look back at my posts you will see my original 6 month photos.

I also took antibiotics because I got folliculitis.

Have faith, you could be a late bloomer like I was. It’s almost like the second procedure spurred the second one on.

hey man. How is it looking at the moment?
I’m 6 months and bit in and somewhat in the same boat as you right now.

Really good - I am ecstatic with the result so far. Still until end of June for it to be a full 12 months.

Have had different hair dressers comment on how thick my hair is and even attempted to use thinning scissors.

    Absolutely stoked with the result.

@Ramons Great Result! Thanks for sharing the scalp infection variable. One of the conditions to watch for folks who are in the post-op phase.

Can you please share a link to HiScrub shampoo? Searching online no product link comes up. How many days after the procedure did you observe signs of infection and/or start using the shampoo?

Dr Laorwong provided the shampoo but is basically an anti-bacterial wash.

Also it was Dr that picked up the spots during my procedure and provided the treatments. Started the wash 2 weeks after procedure.

Dr laorwong identified the problem and fixed it free of charge. A dr with high morals and ethics that doesn’t do this job just for money , a very humble talented surgeon im lucky I found him thanks to this forum 😊

    @Jamos1982 well said brother 👏.

This is one aspect that gets overlooked - not all procedures go according to plan as there are a lot of variables and each patient has their own challenges.

So what must be considered is what the surgeon does if it doesn’t go according to plan.

This is another reason why @Kongkiat should be at the top of the list for anyone considering a procedure within the region. Above his skill and his consistency is his ethics . An absolute rarity in any form of business these days is genuine care for customers, standing by your work and ethics - he has it all.

Just in case you are wondering if this is a sponsored post - it isn’t - I am speaking from experience…check out my posts for context.

Hi everyone, I am a 28 year old man, currently around a Norwood 3 and considering a hair transplant later this year, likely with Pekiner or possibly Laorwong (I prefer Pekiner's hairline work though, he actually thought I was a Norwood 2 but I think I'm closer to 3). Had online consults with both, got some good info. However, I have been on oral finasteride 1mg for around 9 months and unfortunately I am still losing hair. I understand that I could potentially just be going through another shed, but I do have a family history of some very aggressive male pattern baldness. Both grandpas completely bald, dad is almost completely bald, uncle isn't but he had a transplant and uses finasteride, all of them starting balding very young like I did, late teens early 20s.

Fortunately I'm not getting sides from finasteride at all but I do think I probably need oral dutasteride. I have a more severe genetic disposition to balding (i remember the first time someone noticed my hairline was receding and I was only 18!!!) and dutasteride isn't more likely to cause side effects than finasteride according to all the most recent studies. We even have some long term studies on dutasteride, a 5 year Korean study was published not long ago, hopefully we get longer 10 year studies soon!

Anyway, i just wanna make sure my hairloss has STOPPED before surgery and want to hopefully grow back a bit and lower the number of grafts I will end up needing (looks like it would be around 2500 based on my level of loss) and could potentially even avoid surgery entirely if I am very lucky and grow back a lot on dut.

What do you guys think? Seems like dut is a safer choice before surgery. Plan on using 0.5mg once a day.

Be careful about Dutasteride. I was on Finasteride for close to 2 decades -  overly healthy libido, fathered 2 healthy children….no side effects whatsoever.

I switched to Dutasteride and felt like sh!t. Had depression, dark thoughts, no libido - it was like it had plummeted my testosterone. I stopped taking it mid script and felt better within days.

    Hi everyone,

Being  new haven’t seen previous discussion if I’m asking a question.im curious as to price difference between Australia and Turkey for a like for like . Admittedly there is $5000,00 difference for travel and accommodation costing for travelers to Turkey .
    im based in Perth .

    any recommendations?

I am based in Perth also.

After my experience and most from this forum the only surgeon I can recommend is Dr Laorwong.

Excellent results, very well priced, close to Australia, well credentialed.

Above all a surgeon who genuinely cares about your results.

How did your donor scarring look when it was shaved down for the second procedure? It's hard to tell from the photos.

TBH I didn’t take a lot of notice in it. I have some beard trimmers that I used to trim my hair around a 5 setting and you couldn’t see any sign of extraction.

Probably one of my character traits is being way to relaxed about things and once again TBH throughout this 2 year process it hasn’t been a factor for me.

Even now I can’t remember even thinking or wanting to ask about it. I have never buzzed or faded my hair low so for me wasn’t a concern in my mind.

wow interesting, i wonder how much of that was due to the 2nd transplant? maybe the 1st one thickened up as well, or maybe it was spurred on my the 2nd one?!

    thanks for sharing the update.

I too wonder because I stopped wearing hats at 4 months so maybe the first was positively impacted? Who knows?

Even now at 6 and a bit months I still have new growth coming through the skin.

    **6.5 month update**

Thankfully the wiry / grey thin hairs have finally started to thicken and density has started to kick in - hooray!

I have had friends comment how they've noticed change in the last couple of weeks and I am getting a few more comments / compliments which is nice.  I'm stoked with the result thus far and hoping it continues to get fuller / denser over the coming months.

Have included some recent photos as well as a pic of my last haircut before heading to Thailand for surgery as a comparison.

Have a very hairy Xmas all - thanks for your support and feedback this year. It is much appreciated :)

  10. Recently had a hair cut and the lady said "at least you don't have to worry about going bald" :)  I then told her my background and she was absolutely shocked - she couldn't tell at all.

So shout out to @Kongkiat once again your skill, ethics, morals and dedication have had a huge impact on my quality of life - I honestly can't thank you enough.

The freedom of not wearing a hat like a had for close to 20 years, being able to style your hair, getting compliments, having other men ask what you are doing to your hair cos it looks thick and a hair dresser not even noticing - shows the elite end result....I am chuffed beyond words.

Wow 😮 what an outcome 👏

So happy for you brother, you must be feeling ecstatic.

Also respect to you for sharing your story in such detail, I have no doubt your experience would have positively impacted many people 💯.

As we all know on here the debilitating self doubt and impact on your confidence hair loss has so to know there is an option out there like @Kongkiat is reassuring and the outstanding results speak for themselves.

Once again congratulations for having the courage to make the initial decision and to share.

    Absolute insanity 🥳🤩🤯

Completely agree - ridiculously good result.

Shout out to you for having the courage to take action and also for sharing 👏.

Also another jaw dropping outcome from @Kongkiat….get in quick, I feel Dr Laorwong will soon have a lenghty waitlist.

Fingers crossed will be dropping some results like yours also in the coming months….just clocked up 3 months post 🤞

Interesting, thank you for that information. Glad to hear that there are early signs the new protocol is helping!

Out of curiosity, have you ever used ketoconazole shampoo? I believe that's a common ingredient in antibacterial shampoos and also regularly used for hairloss prevention.

    Yes I have.

I haven’t read the difference between but my own personal experience is the HiScrub is much more effective.

I didn’t feel like the keto controlled it much but the HiScrub definitely does - if I feel 1 or 2 lumps they usually subside within 12-24 hrs with HiScrub.

Also not sure this is a positive but if HiScrub gets anywhere near your eyes you look you have been on a road trip with Cheech and Chong….never got that level of chemical clean from keto.

So HiScrub will be a permanent part of my regime going forward as I work in a hot, dusty environment and wear hard hats frequently.

Thank you for sharing your experience. It's really valuable to hear about cases like this where the result was not optimal. I'll echo what others have said -- both you and the doctor showed great maturity here. I'm glad that you found a resolution that will hopefully satisfy your concerns.

Do you or Dr. Laorwong have any thoughts and what might have contributed to the poor survival rate? That information would be very helpful to those of us who have recently had procedures.

Wishing you a comfortable recovery and spectacular growth this time around 🙏

The variable we controlled this time was scalp infection. I was given 2 months of antibiotics and HiScrub antiseptic shampoo.

First time my scalp was pink and tight for months…this time colour is normal and scalp doesn’t feel tight.

Also this time not as many hairs shed and can see some grafts stayed in tact.

So the contributing factor would be scalp infection.

I will post updates as I come out of the ugly duckling phase as I am just crossing 2 months - donor has bounced right back and no sign of around 5000 grafts being harvested.

I texted the clinic around 3-4 weeks ago. They just read the question but never replied. I asked for the photos and if I can start using the sauna again.

About plucking, those hairs didn’t change since day one. I read that if a hair doesn’t shed or grow after the transplant it means the root is death. It just feels like as if you pull out a straw out of a glass. The skin didn’t even move while pulling out.

5 weeks ago I was at the clinic and the doctor plucked out a tons of hairs by himself and I didn’t feel any resistance. So I assume I lost a good chunk of grafts.

That's why I am not so sure about my future result. Freaks me out a bit.

Try email…also what was the verbal response at the clinic? Do you mean you were back with the Dr in Thailand and he plucked them?

Wow…that looks dense. Expect a life altering result 🙏.

I would email the clinic again for your photos, I found them and Dr very responsive.

Also not sure why you are plucking hairs…71 days is still very early in your journey - judging by your post procedure pic and if you adhere to the post care instructions you will be very happy.

    Hola fellas ...

Here is a 4 month update,4 months and 3 days to be precise..its getting better and better day by day..actually i am a pro responder to medication and prp and due to that my native hairs are getting better and better and i really lost track of my transplanted hairs and its getting difficult to keep an eye on them but i can feel them as i run my hands through my hairs, anyways those improved native hairs plus transplanted hairs together making the area super dense..i never had such a density even during my college days so its like am back to the school days minus those grey hairs..Touch Wood

First 3 Pics in black sando are right after shower with damp hair and 4th and 5th one in the room with all the led lights turned on and last one in pink t-shirt is on terrace so its in day light condition

    OMFG - what a result…congratulations.

An absolutely ridiculous 4 month progression, you must be absolutely thrilled.

Enjoy the new found freedom and confidence.

Shout out to @Kongkiat for another life changing result 🙏

Thanks!  I was deciding between Turkey and Thailand, but then realised my air miles would only get me to Thailand so that made the location decision easy.  I looked at various doctors work and Dr Kongkiat Laorwong came up time and time again with clean work,  good results and good recommendations.  I looked at Dr Path as well but he was more expensive so I chose Dr Laorwong.  It was 70 or 75 Thai Baht per graft, I cant remember which one. I remember Dr Path being about 10-15 baht more expensive.  I'm really happy with my decision and it's been a breeze apart from the pain extracting the hairs during the procedure. I have a sensitive head and that really f'ing hurt!  Short term pain for long term gain though.

Also of note is Dr Laorwong spent time learning his craft under Dr Path if my research serves me correctly so you can’t go wrong.
