Congratulations…density looks amazing.
I regret not taking more photos of mine close up - shedding now so will have to wait.
Donor area after 11 days looks exceptional also.
Agree that this forum helps immensely and when considering which Dr to go with Dr Laorwong should be in the top few surgeons to choose within the Asian region.
If you do choose this clinic I stayed at Avani+Riverside Hotel which is a 50 baht can ride away. Immaculate hotel, awesome rooms, breakfast included and a centre attached with 7 Eleven and many restaurants - highly recommend it.- 1

Looks really good. What dose of oral minoxidil are you using? People on oral minoxidil tend to see early growth.
1/2 of a 10mg per day

Thought I would share some pics of my recent procedure with Dr Laorwong.
As you can see I had a massively receded hairline which I had hidden for years with hats or an average comb over.
Some stats;
- 43 years old
- Finasteride for over 15 years – with no side effects
- Loniten for over 15 years – an oral version of minoxidil, only side effect is total body hair growth 😊
- I have a large head so surface area compared to others should be considered when comparing to others
- I chose the higher hair line due to my age, my starting point and due to always having a high hair line
Shout out to Hristo13 for posting and providing me with the courage to go ahead and for answering my questions.
Procedure went well, no pain, sleeping was easy – was a long day though and got increasingly uncomfortable in the chair…old man bones seizing up. Flew out back to Australia 2 days after the procedure and had no discomfort flying…and only 1 overzealous security guard making me take off the bandana – the shock on his face though said he wish he hadn’t.
Overall a good experience and I would recommend it.
I am 1 month post procedure and the shed has commenced so I will post again once I get some growth.
Thank you to Melvin for your time and efforts to keep this forum running and to all who share – it truly makes a positive impact.

I think that’s what I had in mind. Start fin again and see where I’m at in 6 months. So that if some hair grow back I can get even more out of the Hair transplant.
Whit the minoxidil , why would I do it if I already do the Fin ? Isn’t Minoxidil for people who are scared of taking fin because of the side effects ? If I could spare the trouble of having to spend 15 mins per day doing the minoxidil that would be preferredAussie T there is also Loniten available in Australia which is an oral minoxidil - as always consult your doctor and be prepared if your are a hairy dude elsewhere because you will need to trim your firebreaks every fortnight 🤣

Thanks!
Do you know how long ahead we need to book for the surgery? I know some surgeons need to be booked few months ahead.
I recently booked with Dr Laorwong, he asked for atleast 2 weeks notice

Definitely need to get on finasteride - been on it for over 15 years now and no side effects: horny AF, no performance issues and 2 healthy kids.
With your budget and condition it seems Turkey is the option but I suggest saving up some more and going with Dr Laorwong in Thailand - great results and well priced…not cheap but well priced at around 70B per graft.
You don’t want to risk going for a cheaper procedure and ending up with a low density job that stands out.

3 MONTH UPDATE
Surgery January 5 ... Pictures taken April 8
Lots of shock loss for the first two months - I started Fin for the first time on January 6 so that could also have contributed to it
Redness has only started to fade a little over the last week or so
So far everything has gone extremely smoothly - no soreness, no itchiness, no complications whatsoever ... Use Fin 1mg daily, Minoxidil foam twice a day, lots of different supplements.
First four photos are taken with dry hair and no product - however i did put Minoxidil foam in about two hours before the pictures which does tend to thicken my hair. Last three photos are with wet hair.
I said I wouldn't make a judgement call on how it looks until about the six month mark as, in my opinion, that's when you tend to get good a sense of how it may turn (understanding there are exceptions to this). However, in saying that, I am extremely happy and looking forward to continued growth.
😳👍👏looks ridiculously good - mad respect.
Looking forward to my procedure soon with Dr Laorwong also.
Awesome results and I wouldn’t worry about temple area the curve of the hairline looks very natural as is.

On August 11 I had an FUE HT with Dr. Kongkiat Laorwong. It was suggested that 2500 grafts were needed to cover my crown and hairline a few weeks ago through some photos I have sent him and the assessment didn't change on the actual day. There were only three main factors I chose this doctor: a) he has an archive of his work showing good results, b) he has 10 years of experience and does the surgery himself and c) he is a Diplomate of the American Board of Hair Restoration Surgery (ABHRS) he was a well-trained hair transplant surgeon by fellowship training program certified by ISHRS and he is a Fellow Member of ISHRS ( FISHRS).
In my experience, things were very professional. Dr. Laorwong doesn't ask a lot of questions nor does he talk a lot but all the information he needed were in the form I filled up. After taking photos and deciding the hairline height, the procedure was done without incident (I noticed the assisstants massaged my legs before the injection which was probably a diversion). I was given a free PRP injection and was half awake (even noticed myself snoring) and was happy that everyone was very professional.
After the surgery, I was given medication and a post op pamphlet which I followed. I never took the sleeping pills nor the pain killers as I didn't really feel any discomfort after surgery (except for recurring hiccups) and was able to sleep well at the hotel. The next day, the doctor himself washed my hair and gave me extra ointments for acne, in case it developed, and to reduce the redness in the area for free. As I wanted to go around Bangkok (which is a beautiful place by the way), I asked for an extra bandana and shower cap.
Everyday I sprayed my head, applied petroleum jelly, wore a shower cap and a bandana, and went around. The bandana was black so people didn't really think anything about it. When I started working 3 days ago, I couldn't spray my head constantly anymore so I just applied vaseline petroleum jelly on it (the clinic gave me one as well but I used it all when I was in Bangkok), wore a shower cap, then a loose summer beanie. Nobody asked questions as the beanie was fashionable. Although, I stood out wearing a suit with a beanie.
Today is the the 6th day and I took these photos after shower (I am still waiting for the doctor to send me my pre op and post op photos) and removal of the petroleum jelly from last night. To remove the jelly, I use a disposable kitchen towel because it is absorbent and stronger than a tissue. Moreover, the petroleum jelly sticks to it. I tap my head lightly with the kitchen towel and then reapply the jelly. I do this twice a day as I shower before work and before sleeping.
A small information about me. I started taking propecia a month ago because I thought that getting a hair transplant was pointless if I don't take the medication. The non transplanted hairs would thin out and I would look bald again. I have been all around, as most balding guys probably do, getting information about HT, etc. in my case, I didn't experience any side effects. ED is scary but I didn't really give much thought about it as the scientific evidence doesn't really lead directly to the medication (as far as I have read). Brain fog was a big concern as my job requires intense intellectual energy all day. I didn't experience any so I was quite happy.
So far, I can say that the current results are pretty good. I am just thankful and excited to see how it would look like in a few months.
Thank you for reading and I am looking forward to any comments if there are any.

I have attached some photos with my now thicker hairs (photos were taken while my hair was wet inside my room). I have been taking finasteride and minoxidyl for the past 12 months and 8 months, respectively, without any side effects. I am very happy with my hair and no longer worry about strong winds, going to the beach or the pool.
I hope you guys have a successful surgery and great result as well. The new hair really gives me more confidence and I hope you guys will feel the same way too.
I highly recommend Dr. Kongkiat Laorwong.
Cheers!!
Congratulations Junior - your procedure looks very impressive.

Hi Everyone
New here just joined but I am headed to Istanbul the first week of June 2022 and looking to book in at a clinic for my first ever hair transplant. I'm 41 yrs old. Done a lot of reading on this and looking at FUE been told I can have between 3000-4500 Grafts. I've so far been in touch with and have had replies back from the following DR's and clinics:
- Dr Yaman - Will avoid temple grafts and opt to reinforce my natural hairline
- Dr Bicer (she is away when I'm there)
- Dr Achar, Cosmedica/get more hair
- Dr Alev, Dr T hair Best Hair Transplant clinic
- Dr Akpinar, Smile Hair Clinic
Ok that's all I have for now so I appreciate and all advice from this Forum!!
Kind regards
Mad respect lad…I am planning the same for the start of June. Leaving from Perth, WA.
Just stumbled across Dr Ma from Freia Medical in Singapore….check it out

Honestly, when I shave my head right down with a blade, to me it looks just the same as it did before the surgery. This is a big relief for me.
Dr Harold Ma in Singapore.
I am still in month 2 of recovery, so I will share full photos at 6 months to share if the procedure worked. I am hoping for a high graft survival rate, but cannot tell yet.
At least if it fails, I know that I can just continue shaving my head without worrying about scars.
Looks like a great job…what were the per graft rates?
