hey bro i know how ya feel starting to lose your hair at such a young age. i started losing my hair around the same age. theres no easy way to deal with it. from the amount of threads that i have read from this site everyone will pretty much advise you on not getting a HT to early.you have limited donor hair. you could get shock loss from the HT. which means you could end up killing more hair follicles that surround your balding areas. some say you could end up worse or in the same perdicament. right now i'm taking 1.25 mgs propecia and minoxidal 2 x daily. i'm also gunna start using nizoral shampoo 2 x a week. hopefully it works cause i really don't wanna shave my dome.good luck with what ever you decide. roam around the board theres lots of useful info. later....

yes i've also read and heard from people that it can accelerate your hair loss if the hairs around your balding area were already dying from dht. sorry bro....

i just don't know what to do because i do have a limited amount of donor hair and i don't want to get a ht and end up with the same problem or less hair. maybe i'll look into that hair club for men bullshit. hopefully it looks real. what are some good sites to buy your perscriptions over the net? canada? once again thanks for all the help bro.

Do you guys think there will ever be a real cure for hair loss? Propecia, rogaine and proscar take months on end to show any promise and you never get the true results your looking for, but thats just my opinion....... i think pretty soon i'm just gunna buy a chia pet and just smear that shit all over my head.

i do have the money for surgery but if you can save on the propecia then i'd like to if possible. i think i read on this site some where, that a hair transplant surgery could possibly kill other hair follicles or fasten your hair loss where you've already begun to lose hair. is that true or am i way off? i just hate how i'm looked at by some people because i'm starting to lose my hair. and then you get the !*#@ holes out there that make comments about it. i've been really losing confidence in myself over the past few yrs. if something can be done i want to do it before i'm completely bald.

I've read so many posts on this site and can't remember if you were the 1 that said they got their dermatoligist to perscribe proscar for you because it was covered under your health insurance. I know that propecia isn't covered under mine either.Proscar and propecia are both just finasteride. (correct?) I actually have enough money saved for a HT but I have read that some people think I should wait because of my age and how my hair loss could progress. Thanks for the help.

I am currently somewhere between 210-215lbs, 5-10 and am 26yrs old. I have also begun to take minoxidil for my crown area. My goal is to maintain what I have left and possibly receive a HT. donna, i'm just curious to see how your doing after the HT. all i can say is there are alot of mixed feelings toward DR.Jones. i was considering him as its close to home but there are way to many mixed opinions on him. now please remember that i'm a newbie but the people with the best feedback are the hasson&wong tag team duo. so far....

i am currently 26yrs old and began losing my hair when i was 20yrs old. i've been currently taking propecia for about 1yr now but i think my hair is still thinning out.i also recently began incorporating minoxidil twice daily for my crown area. my question is safe to up the dosage to 1 1/2 mgs per day. i recently bought a pill cutter to do so. my stats are 5-10'' and about 215lbs. my goal is to stop the hair loss and possibly get a hair transplant.

All i can say is wow after reading the whole post on Dr.Jones. I really felt like I was the only 1 who felt the way you guys do about losing your hair. My heart and prayers really go out to you Donna. I hope you are doing better and that the second transplant went better. Bigmac,Donna if you can send those pictures you'd really be helping out other people by warning them. If what you guys say is true. A little bio on me is as follows. I started losing my hair in the crowning area during college. Now I'm currently turning 26 and have started getting more of a reseeding hairline from the front and I'm also losing hair down the middle area of my head as well. I feel embarrassed just writing this, but i know that you guys know what I'm talking about all to well. Currently i am working a job that requires extended periods of time being away from home. Oh and to top it off. I just seperated with my gf of the past 3yrs. So as you can tell I am an emotional wreck with zilch confidence. Well I definetly gotta go back to the drawing board and do more research on everyones posts from other subjects on their hair transplant stories.
