I believe any package with Eugenix is guaranteed quality..  (any package is better than an Instagram hair mill)

    • Your hair seems to be on thin and very straight.
    • Your donor area is untouched and seems to be good for what you need
    • I would make sure they dense pack it. As our friends have suggested 3,500 would be absolutely perfect. Keep in mind you are planting grafts on area with 0 hair.
    • Regarding the hairline and temporal points, they are very nice to have and this clinic is great at them. They frame the face and give a natural look overall.. but evaluate your priorities first

I'll repeat, make sure they dense pack it... i prefer a higher hairline with tight coverage, down a lower hairline and sparse density.  I'm sure you will make the right judgement

Sorry about the late reply. Am 40. I started with Finasteride. 1 mg alternative days. It’s been a week. Haven’t noticed any side effects yet, should I take it daily ?

Here's my personal take on things. Stay on Finasteride and see if you can increase the dosage to 1mg every day sooner so you block the maximum DHT possible.

The next thing i would urge you to do is add Minoxodil into your routine and Microneedling with a derma pen once a week at 1mm to 1.5mm. You should also maybe try use a 2% ketoconazole shampoo like Nizoral.

If there's any inflammation on the scalp, seb derm, dandruff etc. You should take care of that too. Also do a blood test to make sure your vitamin levels are all okay.

I would then tell you to save up money and research the clinics who deal with your hair type and ethnicity to put out the sort of results you want.

Give the hair restoration at least 12 months to work its magic. The majority of the results are achieved then and hopefully puts you in a better position.

How do we add minoxodil ?

I had a hair transplant 2,5 years ago, but i am not happy with the result (maybe on this pics it looks solid, but only on this way like on pics it looks styleable, otherwise i cant do much. Thinking to do a touch up end of this year. What do you think, how many grafts would i need this time? First one was 2600 grafts. I am 35 years old and on around 0,6mg Fin every day (still loosing like 20 hairs every day). Pics are from before, after OP and most of those pics are from now. Pekiner is probably my best bet, if i dont wanna spend more then 4000 Euros, right? I hear Bicer suggested many times here, but i am not convinced with the results i saw so far. I know people from my country who had great results with Dr. Akar, but yes, i know its a russian roulette there.

    Hi guys

Just wanted to tell everyone that I found this forum pretty helpful in identifying what is a hair mill and who is a reputable doctor. However my search was limited to doctors in Turkey and while I have seen reputable doctors in Istanbul, namely Dr Bicer and Dr Demirsoy, I was wondering if anyone here could help expand my search given my geographic location.

I currently reside in Karachi, Pakistan and am alright with the idea of traveling for a transplant but am unsure of where I should be looking other than Turkey perhaps. I am somewhere between a 5 or 6 on the Norwood scale so would likely need upwards of 3000 grafts.

Does anyone have any good reputable doctors or clinics in mind that are not too far? Also would like to point out Eugenix is another clinic I hear about pretty often but unfortunately traveling to India is difficult where I live. Please let me know whatever recommendations you have. Also while price is still a concern I feel 2 euros a graft will be affordable but am flexible if a better option is available for not a lot more.

Are u sure about 3000 grafts? Am NW 3A n I will need around 4000 grafts. Please correct me if I am mistaken.

  5. I received an email from HLC , requesting all for a feedback

We recommend you to let transplant about 3800-4300 Grafts. With this amount, we can rebuild the hairline and close the temples. We will also give to the front half area more density. We have to transplant the hairline with a density of approximately 50 Grafts/cm2 to provide a dense and natural look. The exact number of Grafts depends on how the hairline is designed and how large the thinned/bald area is. We can only see this in detail on site.

We use single hair on the hairline only. We are using 6-8x magnification loupes during the extraction and implantation and also have Microscopes for selecting the single hair. For the temporal points, triangle, we use fine hair behind the ear.

  6. 1 hour ago, Ryan Daniel said:

He needs dense packing because its light skin with very dark hair. The contrast maybe give a particular result if not properly dense.
Also very straight hair may give a see through appearance, even if grafts are implanted with correct angles

It’s half to be on this forum. I was wondering the same about my straight n fine hair. I have noticed that members with curly hair have had wonderful coverage of the front area.

Stay positive and buckle in for the long ride! All good wishes to you my friend.

Also, are you getting the 20% off on your booking or have they modified the offers?

Hi Captain, would you know more about how the 20% off works ?

@Alphabeta - The other surgeons at Eugenix are @Dr Abhinav Kumar , Dr. Priyadarshini Das, and Dr. Alok Sahoo. I understand that Dr. Kumar doesn't like being represented as a surgeon of Eugenix on this forum. His role on this forum is more of an FUE expert, dermat, and a hair loss patient who has undergone FUE surgeries. I had a bunch of questions that I sent to Nelson and Abhinay last week, about the new 'Complete Pkg.' My budget also calls for the same pkg. as you. I can share those questions and answers with you over PM when they reply back. I also had a call with Dr. Bansal and she cleared some doubts that I had at that time.

You could also look into the discounted summer (April to June) HT rate that Dr. Bhatti offers.

Hello, could you also kindly share the question n answers with me. Am also looking at the comprehensive package. Thank you

Could you help me understand under which package was this procedure performed as I understood there is Comprehension, Exclusive, Premium and more.

  11. Hello all, I have read good reviews about the clinic. I did send my photos to them and they came back to me with approx 3000 and they have made a sketch over my photos. Since there are many experienced members here, I’d request their feedback. Also since am working on a limited budget , am thinking about going with the Exclusive package, would be ad if any member has undergone a procedure under this package. Thank you.

Hi @densehair2016- all looks fantastic and I’m always impressed with how much coverage Eugenix patients get with not a ton of grafts.

I think you made the right choice with the conservative design and full coverage.

True that you can grow longer and the design itself is not even that conservative.

    Looking forward to your progress!

Hi SLA, I am in touch with Eugenix and they replied with a sketch on my photo. It mentions 3000. I am new to this and don’t know how much 3000 will cover. Since there are some experienced members here , I’d request their opinion as well. Attached is the photo.

Having made the trip from London to Delhi, I’m pleased to report that I underwent a 6,009 HT graft procedure with Dr. Arika Bansal and Eugenix across 3 days from 02-04 October 2021.

I’m delighted with the decision to choose Eugenix for my HT and for them working with me. I'm staying in India till 14October to maximise the initial 10-day recovery period.

I look forward to sharing a personal account of my experience and providing updates along the journey.

This thread is dedicated to YOU the reader spanning HRN members, non-members/lurkers, HT hopefuls, and educating anyone + everyone.

Special shoutouts (in alphabetical order) to my better half, Anil, Dr. Arika, Rishabh, Suryakant, and the entire Eugenix team for making me feel part of the family.

*Please note that I will capture an update log in this first post and link to subsequent posts found throughout the thread to provide a singular view of my journey.

    Background

    • I’m 32 currently living in London and have spent over 12 years suffering from hair loss with a NW6 classification.
    • In the past 2 years I went from a NW3 to a NW6, experiencing dramatic deterioration and it was time to act.
    • After using Nioxin in my early 20s, I gave up and was resigned to the fact that I was unable to stop my hair loss.
    • All the males from my maternal and paternal side of the family are bald NW 6-7.
    • Time was of the essence, the stars aligned for me, and it was time to get the plan in motion and kick it into overdrive!
    • My objective was to do this once in my lifetime, maximise the number of grafts, and recovery quickly in time for my engagement in early 2022.

    Research

    • I rekindled the interest in my hair around 2 years ago in late 2019 and began researching HT as an option.
    • In my shortlist were several top-rated doctors with documented photo evidence from patients sharing their journey.
    • Quality, consistency, interviews, and costs made up the scoring criteria for decision making purposes.
    • Eugenix credentials for me ranked at the top of my list in the scoring criteria. The overall quality, consistency, aftercare/service, and assured timely responses.

    Eugenix Journey (pre-arrival)

My point of contact, Rishabh, was helpful and quick to

    • provide documentation for visa application (UK is the old school visa process with India requiring physical documents + meetings and not accepting electronic visas)
    • coordinate Dr. Arika’s time for pre-op meetings and procedure planning
    • pushback HT date by a week to anticipate/accommodate the visa approval dates
    • provide detailed commentary on requests for information and pricing matters
    • schedule and confirm accommodation details
    • respond to questions when they came up and verify blood tests and results

    Eugenix Journey (HT across 02 – 04 October 2021)

Extracted 4K from back scalp, 1.6K from beard, and 0.4K from side burns. Implanted 4K in the front/middle scalp and 2K in the crown.

    HT Day 1 - 02 October

    • Landed 1205 IST on 02 October. Performed the necessary covid PCR tests, immigration, and arrived at the hotel by 0300 IST.
    • Received a call from Eugenix around 1500 to come in that evening for 1900 for planning, hairline design, and slit creation (initially planned for 03 Oct.)
    • Blood pressure and local anaesthesia allergy checks performed by Dr. Anil and got to meet Rishabh
    • Dr. Arika began with the hairline design and checking the available grafts from scalp and beard. Once this was complete a few before pictures were taken and shaving began.
    • The nurse came and gave local anaesthesia to the front of my head and ready for Dr. Arika to begin with creating the slits.
    • The night ended around 2330 with around 3K slits being made.
    • Suryakant who leads the QA took good care of me checking in on me, asking if I wanted water or juices, ordered a special chicken food request, made me feel at home, and even transported me back to the hotel along with the driver to ensure that I was cared for and comfortable.

    HT Day 2 - 03 October

    • 03 October the procedure start time was on for 0800. I started the day with an enjoyable breakfast at the hotel and made my way to Eugenix with the driver for 0800.
    • Changed into the overalls and began the local anaesthesia. Extraction began and by around 1430 around 2K were implanted.
    • A nice lunch was provided, and we were soon underway, closing the day with maximising the scalp with 4K grafts (estimates were around 3.3-3.5K available) and implanting 4K and around a total of 5K slits created.
    • Driven back to the hotel and had a heavy meal ready for the final day.

     HT Day 3 - 04 October

    • 04 October the procedure start time was 1400. I arrived at Eugenix and was greeted by Anil who I met for the first time, and we had a run-down of the gameplan for the day and re-echoed my objective to maximise the number of total grafts where possible.
    • I liked Anil’s detailed explanation and attention to care about the days work. Anil then checked to see if I had eaten lunch and mentioned I had not and was not hungry – Anil insisted I eat to provide fuel for the day ahead. I ate a nice lunch and we began.
    • Local anaesthesia was given to my beard and extraction began and implantation to the area prior to the crown and crown areas.
    • Dr. Arika came in to create further slits amounting to over 6K and the extraction from side burns began and implantation to the crown area and mid scalp. The day closed out with a total of 6,009 grafts implanted at around 2110 hours.

    Post HT

    • A comprehensive aftercare regime is explained and supplied consisting of surgeon caps, saline bottle spray, tissue pads for neck pillow, gauzes, oral medication kit, donor area kit, and a copy of Autobiography of a Yogi book.
    • A 7-day post HT oral medication kit is supplied consisting of antibiotic (3x daily), probiotic (3x daily), NSAID (3x daily), and PPI antacid (1x daily).
    • There is a WhatsApp group that is created to manage aftercare questions as well as provide tips on what’s expected on each day post HT – this is sent via email and on WhatsApp.
    • I go to Eugenix daily for 7 days after the HT procedure and till the completion of the first head wash. Eugenix arrange for a pickup and drop-off from the hotel for daily dressing of the donor areas to apply betadine (iodine antiseptic wash) and fusidic cream (topical antibiotic).
    • I significantly increased my water intake during the HT and post HT to around 3.5-5 litres of water daily.

     Day 1 Post HT – 05 Oct

    • Everything seemed to be fine the 2 nights before sleeping in a 45-degree angle. A driver picked me up from the hotel and took me to Eugenix for donor area aftercare.

    Day 2 Post HT – 06 Oct

    • A bit of swelling was present at the top of the forehead and applying cold ice and massages to the forehead.
    • Got to Eugenix for donor area aftercare. Spoke to Dr. Pradeep Sethi for 40 minutes about the Eugenix operating ethos and general chit chat. It was refreshing and nice of him to spend time with patients chatting in a casual and approachable manner. Recipient sites feel a bit itchy.

    Day 3 Post HT – 07 Oct

    • Swelling at the top of the forehead was present. I was able to follow the PPM method (push, pull milk as Dr. Pradeep Sethi mentioned) and did about 20-25 reps of this every hour or two coinciding with the saline spray to the recipient areas. The back of my donor area felt very warm and felt a lot of heat emanating from the back of my head. Recipient sites feel a bit itchy.

    Day 4 Post HT – 08 Oct

    • Swelling gone down considerably. The heat from the back of the donor area has gone down a tad and it feels itchy with a light burning sensation.

    Day 5 Post HT - 09 Oct

    • Swelling pretty much zero, non - existent or minimal. Back scalp donor feels considerably less warm. More movement in forehead now.

    Day 6 Post HT - 10 Oct

    • Feeling good and normal. Removed all scabs and gave all my donor areas a great wash before going to Eugenix for daily dressing application to donor areas (betadine and fusidic).

    Day 7 Post HT - 11 Oct

    • Excited as it'll be the first day for the head wash. Feel fairly normal now.

    Vitamins + Supplements + Medicines

    • Began Finasteride 10 days prior to the procedure and will continue to take it on a daily basis. No side effects yet
    • Began daily Biotin 10 days prior to HT
    • Daily Vitamin B complex for years prior to HT
    • Daily Opti-Men multivitamins for years prior to HT
    • Daily Vitamin D3 for years prior to HT
    • I will start to take MSM once I get back to the UK. Credit to @Zoomster
    • I will begin Hair Fact recommended by Eugenix after the 7th day

Hello @Indian_Canadian, thank you for tagging me and your points mentioned above is a valid concern. I was also looking at a FUT + FUE, or just FUT with trichophytic closure, since with FUT I can get dense coverage. But then, there is scar stretching issue. As far as I have read different skin work differently. Since most of us are looking at doctors online and considering (and paying the fees) with just online consultations, we may not (or even the surgeon) may not get a full picture of our skin for FUT. I am still thinking of an FUT first, but I am not convinced with results. The scar stretching is a real thing, and it can happen over time. I even spotted the scar in one of the videos  (at 3:33)

I wish clinics showed their results up close and stretch marks as a close up photo, instead of combing video.

Based on your pictures however, it seems like you are a good candidate for FUE alone. You have a good donour area, and you don't have any signs of hairloss on the neck. You could proceed with Eugenix in my opinion. They have comprehensive and few other packages too. I had spoken to many clinics in India - MedLinks, Medispa, AKClinics, Eugenix, to name a few. So far AKClinics and Eugenix were the most professional in responding. It took me 3-4 times to push to Medispa to get any reply. I guess they are too busy :)) I even spoke to Dr. Suradej Pong in Thailand. His response was really good, and his website have quite too many results (before and after), but he is pricier than any Indian clinics.

Anyways, I hope you'll get to decide soon. By the way are you taking any medicines now? I am on Dutasteride and Minoxidil since 3 months, but planning to switch to Finasteride, Biotin, Minoxidil, etc by this month. I think by taking medicines I can see if I get any results, which would eventually be the way to keep the hair after transplant as well.

Hi , does trichophytic closure help ? A doctor proposed FUT with this closure.

Hi Everyone- I'm coming close to decision time. I'm pretty much set on Eugenix, but like others, I am not sure which package to choose. I am 48 and virtually an NW6.

I am debating between the 120INR (led by senior doctor) and the 210INR (led by Dr. Arika).

Since I began the process back in late 2020 and was unable to fly due to the pandemic, they have offered the 120INR package with Dr Arika assisting with hairline design and she would make the hairline slits and then the senior doctor would take over.

Since I have seen results (only good ones) from Dr. Das, especially from @ADil, I asked specifically for her and we had a video call in which she answered all of my questions. She said has been with Eugenix for 5.5 years and has done around 500 -/+ solo surgeries with around 15 being on Caucasian hair type (although I am not concerned so much about that).

When I asked if she is as good as Dr. Pradeep and Dr. Arika, you could see she had enormous respect for them and called them her 'gurus' and said she wishes in this lifetime she could be as good. I do think she was being modest, because when I asked if she could produce as good as a result in my case, she confidently and  unwaveringly answered, 'yes'. When talking with her, she seemed like a Dr. Arika 2.0 in her knowledge. In a conversation with Dr. Pradeep, he assured me of the same level of results from Dr. Das.

Aman, the sales counselor I am working with sent me one of her results on a high NW which looked great. He will be sending me more results.

So in my mind, I am thinking, "If Dr. Arika is doing the hairline design and slits, all Dr. Das would be doing would be the slits for the rest of the scalp (they want to do around 4k grafts- 1k from beard) and she has done around 500 solo surgeries and we have seen great results from her, then why would I not go for the 120INR package to save money knowing the high graft count I would need/want. How could there be variance from a surgery entirely led by Dr. Arika at 210INR, especially since at Eugenix, the extractions are done by junior docs/technicians?"

Calling all, especially those more senior members who have undergone HTs to let me know the soundness of my reasoning.

    Thanks everyone!

I too have the same question in mind. Am sure Dr Arika and Dr Pradeep will be teaching and passing their knowledge to their juniors.

If the hair loss has slowed down and probably at a much slower rate now then Finasteride can probably help you maintain.

As a general average, most people who are experience hair loss do so in a pattern hence the term "Male Pattern Baldness" and that's what the Norwood Scale for hair loss. However, it isn't perfect and there's always a few real life examples that won't match exactly.

The hair loss usually is thought of as more aggression in your teens, 20s and then slows a bit towards your 30s and by your 40s the kind of hair loss you have should be more slower but it will continue. Depending on how aggressive it can be and when you started with hair loss, Finasteride may or may not save you from things. It all comes down to genetics but it will at the very least slow it down as much as it possibly can.

Just start Finasteride in your case, save what you have left and another benefit may be that it helps thicken the donor area. A lot of people overlook this key aspect. Donor area is DHT sensitive too. Whilst it may be more resistant, it's not immune to the effects and boosting a DHT block with Finasteride helps keep them much healthier for longer. Age will as always degrade our bodies and nothing will stop that i think, but there's a few things we can do.

Just save up, do your research and decide the best clinic for you if you choose to get a hair transplant.

    Good luck.

Thank you. I was thinking exactly the same about helping the donor areas. I am researching some clinics from Turkey and Delhi( India). I found in India that the Doctors are the ones involved in the whole process. To be honest, it’s not so easy to choose as the bodies n results are almost similar.

Honestly it's difficult to say and nobody can give you a definitive but depending on your individual hair loss situation say even 10 years ago, there's a chance you may have been able to preserve more hair.

Unfortunately Finasteride is not a magical remedy and there are those that despite taking it will still lose hair because their genetics are probe to aggressive hair loss but Finasteride does what it can and if they hadn't been on it, likely may have been even more aggressive.

Personally i like to stick with an average example and that's that most people probably slow their hair loss down. So depending on how much hair you had say in mid 20s, early 30s etc. you may have kept more than you have now. Don't dwell on it and the past. Just do what you can from here.

Thanks for telling about the beard. Has your hair loss been stable for a little while now? Taking Finasteride will probably still help but it just helps knowing if your hair loss has slowed down because if so, you might more easily be a hair transplant candidate unlike somebody say in their early 20s who's a Norwood 3 and still losing ground even with medication.

Yes , the hair loss has not been very drastic. It has slowed down but not stopped.

Thanks for providing the pictures. You are somewhere around a Norwood 4 to Norwood 5. Finsateride will still help you keep the majority of the hair hopefully on the top and if you add some Microneedling into the mix once a week with a derma pen at 1 to 1.5mm it might help thicken that crown area up a bit more too

Ultimately you would benefit from a hair transplant but i think you would have to settle for the higher mature hairline design. The whole midscalp to frontal area looks like it would take a lot of grafts and without knowing what your beard is like, it's hard to say whether it could be used.

Hope that helps a bit but use the forums recommend doctors list to send out some pictures you gave above to them and see what they advise.

    All the best.

Thank you, am an Asian so have very light beard. Had I started the finasteride earlier, would I have avoided this situation or was this bound to happen.
