I died my hair at two and half months post op with a non permanent hair dye. I would use as natural a product as possible but once your scalp has healed completely you should be good to go.

Any recommended hair dye brands that use natural ingredients? TIA B|

    HairMe,

i’ve never heard any hair surgeon say that you should wait several months to a year to trim the donor area with hair clippers. That said, the answer will vary a little depending on whether you’ve had FUE or FUT/strip.

With FUT/strip, it’s pretty safe to use hair clippers on the sides and back of the scalp after the sutures or staples have been removed.

With FUE, if you’re careful you could probably use clippers a few days after the procedure however, I suggest waiting at least a week to let the donor area heal a little bit and then still, proceed with caution/care to minimize any discomfort.

Now, the above is my personal opinion and personal experience however, I always suggested patients follow their hair transplant surgeons postoperative instructions.

If your surgeon is telling you to wait several months to a year, I suggest asking him or her why they feel it wouldn’t be safe to use clippers on the area sooner. I also suggest posting about it so that we can discuss it here.

At the end of the day, I think most surgeons err on the side of caution.  Ultimately, many of the postoperative  instructions are more like guidelines rather than hard fast rules so it is good to discuss them with your surgeon and get opinions from others who have had different instructions from their own doctors.

    Best wishes,

How long would you suggest to wait before using hair clippers on the recipient area?

  3. From your current list, Dr. Bicer only and she's booking well into December, maybe further.  Outside of her, Dr. Gur or Dr. Turan are high-quality surgeons that take on one patient per day and do the main parts of the surgery ie. incisions harvesting the recipient area (the techs remove them once ready) and making incisions for the donor area.  To avoid overharvesting of the donor area, aim for doctors who'll do max 3000-3500 grafts per session.  Good luck.

Thanks for sharing your review, Dr. Gür is part of FUEcapilar right? I’ve heard good things. I’ll be following your results closely.

From what I've gathered, Dr. Gur is affiliated with FUECapilar and that they send him referral clients looking specifically for expertise in FUE procedures (Dr. Turan is a DHI expert) but all the work is done at Dr. Gur's own private clinic with his own staff.

Hi, I would like to recommend the service of Dr. Bicer and tell you my own story.

I am a Norwood level 6, therefore I was looking for a Doctor who will do an excellent work with no mistakes.

After more than a year of research which included many questions in different forums, along with conversations with patients with similar situation to mine who have had this process, I have decided to go with Dr. Bicer.

The whole process from beginning to the end was great. The crew was amazing and very professional.
Miss Ozen kindly answered all my questions immediately,  even when I sent her messages at 10-11 p.m.

The clinic receives only one patient per treatment which is great.
The crew gives you 100% and more for anything you need with a big and warm smile, while providing top-notch performance.

Dr. Bicer was in the clinic during the whole process, performed her magic and gave me a lot of confidence, which I definitely needed.

My treatment includes 4,000 grafts and took almost 10 hours. I did not feel pain at all. During each part of the process Dr. Bicer and her crew explained me what they are going to do, and they were extremely professional.

Dr. Bicer, thank you for your amazing work. You deserve every word and comment that people wrote about you.

There is no doubt that you are one of the best doctors in the world for hair transplant.

And for everyone who have doubts if they should do hair transplant, I highly recommend doing it and not being afraid.
    This is life changer!

Has Dr. Bicer given you an estimate of grafts needed for the second session?  How does the donor area look post-op?

  6. Definitely Dr. Gur between the two choices.  Strongly recommend to go with Dr. Gur doing the bulk of the surgery (extraction and incisions -- techs do the implantation).  Dr. Gur's results are really good and natural, he takes on 1 patient per day and his graft estimates tend to be more conservative which is ideal to avoid any chance of over harvesting.

Anyone quoting you 4000+ grafts in one session is not looking out for your long-term goals here.  You're better off going with 2 sessions spaced out for recovery to achieve the full (or near full) coverage you're aiming for.
