  1. It will be extra interesting to follow your journey, considering we hade similar extent of surgeries almost at the same time. But with different clinics. Looking good so far. Cheers!
  2. Question: The clinic claims that a cap should not be worn full days until a year after surgery. There is a significant difference between the clinic's advice and the reflections I find on the internet. Don't get me wrong - I'm aware that one should always follow the Dr's instructions. But a full year just can't be right?
  3. Thanks Clev! Next update is here. Celebrating 3 weeks today and I'm shedding all over the place. According to plan! Donor pic is a bit blurry, but it there might be some shockloss in that area.
  4. I believe it would be fair to define a good result as having correctly placed grafts in the recipient area combined with a high survival. And with that in mind I would not call this a good result unfortunately. Plenty of other doctors/clinics would have given a better end result than this with that amount of grafts. I would also have been dissapointed, I feel you man!
  5. Hey Digi! Exciting times ahead it looks like. I'm only 14 days after surgery so far and I'm also experiencing pimples in the donor area. Have they stopped showing up for you? If yes - how far down the road exactly?
  6. Thank you @Gatsby The pretty face of mine deserved one of those hairline designs. Hopefully it'll be a fine outcome!
  7. Clinic was very determined with their instructions - wait at least 3 weeks. Let's put it this way: I'm much more looking forward to getting back to training than the ugly duckling christmas.
  8. I share your opinion! So far so good I was adviced not to do any kind of exercising upp until a month after the transplant. Most hits on google says that after 14 days I can go on with any kind of training except contact sports. Anyone willing to chime in on the subject?
  9. Cheers @JDEE0 I believe the same goes for you!
  10. I'm now 7 days out of last day of surgery. I apologise for the quality of the photos. My phone camera and I are not best friends, but hopefully it gives you a hint at least.
  11. Hello everyone, Last week I had my first surgery and I'd like to share my experience with you all. I have this forum to thank for a lot and want to pay it forward. Background: I'm 33 years old and have taken my time researching different options. I've always had quite a big forehead and hairloss has been progressing at a very slow rate since I started finasteride 6-7 years ago. Really wanted to wait out possible side effects, not putting myself in a bad situation. Choice: Luckily my hairloss is quite mild, so I knew a first procedure would be focused on a small correction of the hairline. Which happens to be one of Dr.Keser's specialties. I've been watching basically all of his published cases and I've always liked what he achieves. From what I can see - natural results, usually with a smaller amount of grafts than average. He's not very well documented on this forum, but there are quite a few on other websites. I am also fond of his approach. He's involved in every single stage of the surgery himself, no technicians are even present at the clinic. Only his two nurses who assist him. They were absolutely delightful to me although there were some language barriers. He extracts no more than 700 grafts per day and has 1-2 patients per week. I've also never seen any kind of marketing coming out of Dr.Keser and his clinic. To me all this adds up to something that can be categorised as professionalism. He genuinely seems more interested in his patient's end results rather than making good money of of people. Experience: Based on the pictures I sent before the surgery the Dr estimated around 1500-2000 grafts. On arrival and after a closer look he found my hair situation being in better shape in person than in the pictures. I ended up having 1410 grafts spread over 3 days: Day 1 - 500 grafts. Day 2 - 500 grafts. Day 3 - 410 grafts. The Dr and staff all had very good patience with me and make me feel at ease. At the end of day 3 when implanting the last grafts, the Dr had me sit up and walked around the bed board, so that he could watch the hairline from a different angle. Then I was told to lie back down and the Dr walked back to his original position to fine-tune with another few grafts. This was repeated about 4-5 times and they even extracted a few more grafts. This actually made me feel quite reassured and like I was in good hands. I believe Dr.Keser is a perfectionist and an artist. The future end result will be the judge of that and I cross my fingers for everything to turn out fine and dandy. A lot of people out there had a shitty 2020, but in terms of work and relationships 2021 has been really rough for me. I'm working hard everyday to get back on my feet and that fight is completely separated from my hair situation. Having a good result from this surgery would be a total bonus though! So here's for hoping that a small amount of grafts go a long way. Hope everyone is well out there! Cheers! Pre-Op: Shaved: After surgery:
  12. Inspired by your line @BLE123, I created the attached reference. I'll use it in the future communication with clinics. Looks like around 2000 grafts to me, so let's see what the updated estimates brings me.
  13. Appreciate your inputs. I think that the factors bed head and strongest possible bathroom toplight makes it appear more thinning than it is. My hair has also always been on the finer side. Maybe the appearance of things was taken into consideration when advising me not to move forward. I agree about Keser. I've only seen stellar results from him. And when it comes to pricing @Melvin- Moderator - if I'm not mistaken he's been charging 3.5€/graft for +10 years. I do agree though that there are a couple of names on the list that could be considered even more artistic. I just want to point out that for me personally pricing is highly secondary. And it probably should be for more people out there. It's better to save up money not being happy with one's natural situation for the time it takes, than rushing into a low price alternative possibly ending up with a sub par or even unnatural result.
  14. Thanks guys. The drawn line by @BLE123 is absolutely close to what I'm looking for. It might be that I'm focusing too much on the clinic basically getting back to me with the verdict: don't do it. I'm aware that surgical restoration should be the last go-to-solution. I'm very interested in hearing opinions about the whole thing possibly being a bad idea or not. Also @Melvin- Moderator, if you don't mind - could you please elaborate on why Keser is not on the same level as the others in your opinion?
  15. Thanks for your reply @Melvin- Moderator Yeah, that's correct - I'm in Europe. Dr Konior is number one all categories, but for a number of reasons I'll stick to this side of the sea. As per now I'm trying my best to find the right time to do this and the waiting time is quite long for the clinics. Anyone that can shime in on why the estimates are so different? And as mentioned - would greatly appreciate inputs about my situation in general and whether it'd be a good or bad idea to move forward with a restoration at all.
  16. Hey guys, I've been lurking around this forum for quite some time and in terms of research it's been an extremely valuable source to me. I'm turning to the neverending knowledge here not because I don't feel well educated. I'm quite confident, but now that I've for the first time have reached out to my favourite clinics the big variation in recommendations and estimates has got me confused and to be honest - I've found myself in a little bit of doubt. Background: I'm 33 years old and I was born with a quite big forehead. The hairline has receeded a bit, but I'm in a quite alright situation for my age I believe. I'm on finasteride. 1mg daily. It has kept my hairloss stable and I believe I gained some general density from it. I'm not certain but I think the hairline keeps receeding, but at a very slow rate. Is this common? Communicated goals: When reaching out I've been explicit with my ambition with a potential restoration. A natural and future proof result is my absolute main focus and I want to be realistic about things. I'm only looking for a slight lowering of the hairline along with a somewhat conservative closing of the temples. Contacted clinics/Doctors: Dr Bisanga Dr Feriduni Dr Lorenzo Dr De Freitas Dr Couto Dr Keser So far so good. The doctors listed above deliver high-end results on a regular basis. However, as mentioned earlier - the recommendations and estimates have differed significantly. The highest estimate has been 2400 grafts and one doctor adviced me not to alter with anything in any way. In other words, the range differs from 0-2400 grafts and then there are estimates from 800grafts, 1400 grafts, 1800 grafts within that range. I'm attaching the pictures I've sent. Both dry and wet hair can be seen. Any advice or suggestion is much appreciated. Thanks everyone!
