  1. Almost to the point where I no longer wear a hat to the gym. Left corner growing in slower than right. Still thin on top but it gets a little thicker each week. From this: 4 months photos coming later this week.
  2. I did them myself at 10 days, following his explicit instructions. 15 minutes under warm water, then remove with fingertips.
  3. This photo was taken with near sunset lighting on the beach.
  4. I don't remember any of the calculations he told me. I'll post a few random pics from my trip to Hawaii last week. My monthly updates are done around 16th/17th of each month. That is when I send my monthly updates to Dr. Zarev.
  5. Check out my thread. Still in the early stages but Dr. Zarev reckons he'll get me full coverage with acceptable density and I was much further gone that you. Many great options out there though. Eugenix, Pitella (my brother is having is procedure done there), Hasson and Wong.
  6. It's worth looking at Zarev. A level of detail I didn't see in all my consultations with other docs. That said, you could still get a great result from the doctors you mentioned. I went to Zarev. My brother is going to Pitella. Both great options.
  7. Here’s my 3 month update. Tons of tiny little roots budding. Lots of weird long hairs I think that never fell out. I’ll probably buzz it all down in the next week. Heading out in a little beach vacation. Dr said another month until my shock loss in donor area starts to fill in.
  8. I don’t think I understand. Days 1-20 everything is still intact. It grows just barely in that time. Then it all starts falling out everywhere. At 3 months I can say it is growing slower. But my head is still kind of a mess. Lots of little hairs sprouting but too early to tell anything.
  9. I paid the day after. He was probably okay with it since I was staying in town and I had to come back 9 months later. Some guys paid before, some guys paid inbetween days. 8 or 9 days from now. Seems like it’s starting to come in more fully.
  10. My surgeon had me start minoxidil 10 days after surgery.
  11. Don't know too much about them. I've their quite expensive as well with waitlist as long as Dr. Zarev's. Plus I haven't seen them massive NW6 & 7 cases. They may exist but I haven't seen them. For FUE scalp hair-only NW6 and 7 Zarev is the guy. If you're good with beard hair then Eugenix and Pitella are the other good options I've seen. Best of luck in your decision making process.
  12. Yeah as for visiting in person it makes sense to me. I know think it's interesting that clinics can quote graft numbers via Skype and some photos without seeing you in person. Seems like microcamera photos are invaluable. But then again people are getting great results without it, but it made sense for me the way Dr. Zarev requires to see you in person. Yes, it is very expensive. There are more affordable clinics out there so don't give up on a transplant if Dr. Zarev is out of your price range.
  13. @HugoX You're totally right. We're looking similar. I'll just keep throwing a hat on and forgetting about it. @asterix0 You're right. I may shave it all down again here soon. @WhereIsMyMind Thanks for sharing. Yeah, I've just been wearing a hat everywhere and mostly not thinking about it too much. @Gatsby The key is just to put it out of our minds. It'll happen when it happens. I guess the longer hairs are just ones that haven't fallen out yet.
  14. Yes, I feel like I was very lucky to still have temples being a nw 6. My bro is the exact same. Yes, definitely trying to be patient.
  15. You definitely feel confident after your consultation with him. I did consultations with several docs and felt the best after his. Are you going to wait and do the surgery with him, then, Hairman?
  16. Yeah just gotta be patient. Still can’t tell on the hairline. 50% of the time I like it. 50% of the time I think it’s too high.
  17. Dr. Zarev says still too early for growth in the recipient area. Will start to see first signs of growth at 3.5 months. Donor areas will begin to recover from excessive loss after the 4th month. So I guess the hairs I'm seeing in the recipient are hairs that haven't fallen out yet post transplant.
  18. 2 months. Ugly duckling is hitting hard. I am worried about a couple areas but need to be patient to see what areas get good growth. Cant tell how much of the donor thinning is the hairs extracted versus shock loss. Again, I just need to wait. Anyone have luck with fibers? I’m waaay to think to try fibers now but have a beach vacation in 1.5 months and might try them there. Could it affect new growth?
  19. Feels like it's taking a while. I'm more concerned about the shock loss than the recipient area hair. I hope you're right. Hugo had a very quick result. Hoping I'm the same. Yeah, you leave his office with complete confidence. His consultation was the best I had out of the 8 or 9 that I did. I'm happy for you mandark. Hopefully you can get in soon and you get a great result.
  20. @hairman22 Some lighting it looks pretty good and some it looks quite thin. But yes, all things considered I think I'm doing okay. @mandark86 I am in the US. Not sure why it won't let you message me. You might as @Melvin- Moderator.
  21. @HugoX I've sort of turned off the waiting mentality and have stopped looking in there mirror 9 times a day. Ha. It'll happen when it happens. I'll be thrilled if I have as good of result as you at 3 months. Doctor Zarev said it may month 4 or 5 until I've got some strong looking result. @Xanadu Yes, it's two procedures. He aims to make the donor area and recipient area of homogenous density and coverage. At the moment my donor is more dense than my recipient. There is enough room in between my grafts for additional follicular units. He's only planning on another addition 2,000, so less than a quarter of what I had originally transplanted, which should be just fine.
  22. 1 month. The shed has started. I reckon 30%-40% of transplanted hairs have fallen out. Also, my shock loss is significant. Maybe 30-40%. But it’s a long game. I’m 8 months from my second surgery, maybe 16-18 months from final result. Thankfully I work from home so I’ve just been wearing hats. Also told my few coworkers so it wouldn’t be weird.
  23. Actually it was 4 euros per graft with a quote of 6k grafts. When he did 8,300 he put the adjusted the price to to include 7k grafts at 4 euros per graft. He didn’t charge for every graft moved. Very gracious of him.
