  1. After a little bit of work the clinic have come good, apologised for their slow replies and I have my surgery booked for February 2023. I understand they are incredibly busy and apologised for this
  2. 10-11 litres of water is excessive and I have no idea how you managed that in a day. Even as someone who exercises a lot I would get nowhere near that. The average man should consume about 3 litres of water per day. A lot of this water will be present in other drinks if you remember that coffee, tea, fruit juices and soft drinks are still predominantly water based. You also get water from food, particularly fruit and veg. Will it harm your transplant? I doubt it. There is a greater risk to overall health by consuming large amounts of fluid daily as your sodium levels will drop. You say you are constantly dehydrated (I'm assuming feeling thirsty), have you been tested for diabetes?
  3. Sorry you are going through this mate. Hope you get it sorted and get a result you are happy with. I'm fairly new to the forum, but quickly questioned why this surgeon and clinic are recommended. Like some others have said, as soon as I see that someone has gone to that clinic I can picture what the graft placement will look like and it is almost always poor, with very poor density. I've actually yet to see a transplant from this clinic that I would consider satisfactory, let alone brilliant. When you see some of the results from the other clinics recommended on here, it's clear to me this surgeon and clinic is not in the same league. I'm sure there will be some patients happy with their results, but for me personally I wouldnt event consider a Consultation.
  4. Haha hope you get WiFi on the plane. Seems most people have to wait, which is fine, but would just be good to get replies sooner and dates confirmed
  5. Definitely. Think I'm either going with de freitas or Bisanga. Whoever I go with I'll document my surgery
  6. @deeznuts cheers for the info. I'll chase them up tomorrow and they may reply here, 11 months isn't too bad. I'm in a fortunate position that I can take Any cancellations with just a couple of days notice, not sure how often they appear though
  7. @Falconarywow that's pretty poor. Thanks for letting me know
  8. @MachoVato thanks mate. That does seem far too long to wait on a reply. @Melvin- Moderator thanks Melvin
  9. I'm considering De Freitas for my transplant. Can anyone who has had surgery with him please tell me how long you waited for your pics to be looked at by him and then how long you waited to have your actual surgery? I was told it would be 2 months before he looked at my pics and replied (it's been just over 2 months). I asked how long the surgery wait time was but didn't get an answer. I'll wait another week or 2 and chase them up, was just curious how long others had to wait. I'm able to go at very short notice too if any of you had cancellations? Thanks
  10. Totally get it mate. I used to get annoyed when people told me "there is nothing wrong with your skin" cause I could see I had scars. What I really needed them to say was that they could see I had scars but they weren't bad. The dermatologist I saw basically said that she could see I had suffered from acne but it didn't make me less handsome. Was a nice wee ego boost and helped me to start feeling better.
  11. Scar doesn't look red at all on those pics. Hardly looks noticeable at all. But if it is an issue for you then the grey haired style fue recommended looks good. I know exactly how it feels to have scars, no matter what people say if it's an issue for you then you'll be self conscious of it. I was ready to spend yet more money with a dermatologist, thankfully she was great and told me the issues I was describing with my skin were in my head and considering the number of procedures I had gone through I had great skin. Easy to get caught up thinking the issue is terrible when its not. Years of literal trauma leave you with a warped sense of how the scars really look. Hopefully you find some peace after you get your transplant. Hope it doesn't take you as long as me to find that peace mate, you deserve it.
  12. Hey Gatsby. The styles fue3361 recommended look good. Agree the texture of the scar actually isn't bad at all, it's just the redness. I suffered severe acne as a teen and was left with terrible scarring. I've had countless operations and non surgical treatments to get rid of them. I had 3 laser surgeries which completely removed the skin right down to the dermis, each time I was left with tomato red skin for several months. My surgeon recommended a camouflage cream that was great. If you search for any green "cover up" cream or make up I'd try it. Had a bit of trial and error till I could apply it properly without it being noticable. Essentially when you apply a green to red it reduces the redness and makes it appear similar to skin colour. A lot of people use it for rossacea. Might take a while to be able to apply it properly but worth a try. Could also speak to a dermatologist about some pigment reducing lasers such as pico, q switch or maybe even IPL. Think they could take a lot of the redness out of it and you would hardly notice it. Think you're in Australia? So you're probably already good at applying SPF daily, that could really help too. Some alternatives worth trying
  13. Thanks for all your help guys, really appreciate it. Got a few more names I now need to research. Probably need to slow down a little and not let my impatience take over. Cheers
  14. Probably started to notice more loss then and that's when I discovered fin
  15. Thanks @raik783 I'll have a look at Dr Pinto too
  16. Now in the process of deciding who I will get to do my transplant. 41 years old from Scotland, been on 1mg of fin every day since 2013 and had zero side effects. Have good hair and just want my hairline restored. Had virtual consult with Eugenix and they estimated about 1700 grafts including temples, I thought I would need more, I will choose the premium package with Dr Arika. Will have an in person consult with Dr Bisanga too. I want good density and natural looking. Are there any other doctors I should be considering? Or are these 2 pretty equally skilled and offering some of the best results? Don't want to consider anyone in the UK as I just haven't seen any surgeons producing great results.
  17. Thanks mate. Have seen his work but not sure he's the right guy for me. Think I'm down to 4-5 surgeons I'll consider and Dr Reddy is the only one in the UK.
  18. Thanks Melvin, Don't think that's expensive at all and I'd be happy with that for his level of skills.
  19. I'm considering travelling to London from Scotland for a consultation with him. Anyone know average cost per graft? I had hernia surgery in Harley Street in 2007 and know costs there can be ridiculous, largely due to the name
