  1. So what youre saying is if youre not prone to alopecia then increased testosterone wouldnt accelerate hair loss. But what if one's hormones are so low that increasing it a bit doesnt increase hair loss? Say one stabilizes their hormone level to baseline, not too high and not too low either, just normal level without affecting hair. That may be also a possibility.
  2. Hi Curious25, Appreciate the reply. As for 5ar inhibitors like finasteride and dutasteride, I have erectile dysfunction so use of these meds may worsen my ED condition. That said, do you know of any alternative inhibitors that block DHT without side effects? As a side note, there are guys who've actually noticed thicker fuller hair while on TRT. Looks like testosterone helps with hair production but too much is bad it seems.
  3. Do you know if Clomid which is a medication to improve testosterone levels can also cause hair loss?
  4. Has anyone here been prescribed testosterone due to low testosterone? As a result, did it cause hair loss? .
  5. Would you mind telling me who said that? Appreciate it
  6. I'm confused by your response. What do you mean the person who replied above you is lying? No one else replied above your reply.
  7. Didnt see a topic created for this question so here it goes.. Does the covid vaccine cause any hair loss?
  8. Hi gatsby, Greatly appreciate the speedy response! Thank you for that. I listened to joe tilman on his radio show advising to take great precaution with hts. I'm a bit stuck in the middle with some leanings on not going through with one. I'm still somewhat uncertain. Based on my pics with my hair styled, if you were me, would you honestly get a ht?
  9. Hi gatsby, Appreciate your reply. To answer your question, I'm in my 40s and I'm not on any meds (thank god!). To answer your more important question, I'm really not 100% sure of getting a transplant in all honesty. A part of me wants to get a ht. But the other part of me is saying not to.
  10. Appreciate the reply doctor. I'm in my 40s and I'm not on any meds. Are you about your evaluation? Did you look at the last 4 pics showing my hair styled? I'm able to style my hair despite the loss. I've asked people I know about it and they say I dont need one. Looking forward to your response.
  11. But did you look at the last 4 pics of my post showing my hair styled? Dont you think I have enough hair in the front that it doesnt warrant a ht? With all due respect I've seen lots of ht results from guys here who have less hair than me when styled. Not trying to necessarily influence your answer, I'm just trying to point out details you may take into consideration that maybe might change your answer. Just being extra sure here. Hope you understand. Looking forward to your reply. .
  12. Hi everyone. Greatly appreciate this site for all of us. I have some pics I'd like you all to see and judge whether or not I need a hair transplant. But I'm in a situation where when I lift my hairs on my scalp that I have some areas of scalp showing shedding and loss. But when I style my hair like I usually do, it looks like I dont need a transplant at all. Some guy on the street randomly commented I have tons of hair which is a good compliment. It very much looks like I dont need a transplant. But I'm on the fence and am not 100% sure. I came here to gather your opinions just to make sure as I count your opinions as gold and unwavering since many of you have been on this site for years giving honest opinions which I am seeking with much respect. The 1st 3 pics show my bald spots. The last 4 pics show my hair fully styled. I await your responses. Again I appreciate this site and thank you guys for all your honest help and anticipated replies.
  13. I see. Unfortunate. Perhaps there are alternatives to epinephrine that can be used instead? As far as you know, is there any ongoing research into ways of blocking or reducing shock loss?
  14. Hi Doctor. Very sorry, but I need some clarity. When you mention epinephrine do you mean you use it as a medicine? Or do you mean its a pesky hormone that contributes to shock loss which needs to be reduced from affecting the scalp?
  15. Hi Doctor TBarghouthi. Its a pleasure receiving your professional input. In your vast professional experience, do you know if theres a way to reduce epinephrine (adrenaline hormone) and/or other contributing factors/hormones to reduce trauma and in turn reduce shock loss? IMHO, I strongly feel shock loss is the BIGGEST enemy in the hair transplant world. Once thats mitigated completely out of the picture for good, hair transplantation as a surgery becomes a godsend for the leery patient. Awaiting your feedback doctor! Ok that makes sense. Appreciate that gillenator. I'll be sending you my pics soon. Just give me some time. Always appreciate your honest feedback!
  16. Unfortunately I cant take those meds. Kinda confused by that. What does the number of native hair have to do with shock loss? I did not know that. So if thats the case the more follicles transplanted the higher the shock loss to surrounding native hair, right? As to your 2nd point, if a patient has a diffused pattern of hair loss, it wouldnt matter that those diffused hairs are killed off by shock loss since theyre diffuse, weak and few in number relative to the higher amounts of other surrounding native hairs nearby, is this right?
  17. Hello everyone. Will ht patients experience shock loss to one degree or another in any procedure no matter how big or small it is?
  18. Lol.. exactly! Good point. I'll go ahead and ask others. Appreciate that. I'll be sending you my pics soon. Thanks for the input!
  19. Appreciate the reply. But are you saying that shock loss is to be expected to a lesser degree or another no matter what? I'll be sending my pics soon.
  20. Appreciate your link with pics. According to your pics at 5.5 months postop you look very good. I'd say in 2 months it'll look perfect with no need to wait the full year postop. Currently I'm torn between couto and baubac. Both are highly capable doctors. My concern is will it turn out to be what I expect? That is, will I get density and what about shock loss? Those are my 2 biggest concerns. How much did doctor Zarev charge you?
  21. 1 person cant understand 1 word and it deemed a report? lol strange but ok not that serious Incredible! 7000 grafts in 2 sessions in 2 days? But even in capable hands dont you think its a bit overboard? The first thing I think about is shock loss since more than 10,000 holes are punctured in your head which includes those from the donor area. Yes your presumption is correct, I have seen yt vids on these big sessions. Its just amazing how some patients' follicles during such a huge sessions manage to survive to later on thrive to blossom a year post op. Would like to see your result Link it up! Looking forward to it
  22. How did that go? Any issues? Did you go back to get it redone?
