Hold on. This Visudyne stuff isn't cheap. You think people have bought it and just microneedled with it? Where's your proof? Do you think they've bought the FAK inhibitors too and did the same? But yes, getting the papers, seeing how it was used successfully and not successfully is what we need to know. Of course if microneedling was never tried then it's worth a shot. Even more interesting is to use the YAP or FAK inhibitor with Alma Ted and see if getting it under the skin that way could produce a worthwhile result. We have new tools and methods to use this stuff. We've got to think out of the box and creatively. I love the fact the Alma Ted delivers the aqueous through the skin sonically and without wounding the skin.

Yes, I know of two people who micro needled with Verteporfin (not visudyne) and a FAK inhibitor. Xenath on the scar research telegram and DrPhil in the discord to be precise. Neither had results unfortunately.

He needs to do a microneedling experiment, over thinning/slick bald areas.

Any one of us could do microneedling experiment at home -- no point wasting a doctor's time on it. People have tried it at home anyways, and it's failed, so not worth spending time right now. Maybe eventually, but first priority is getting more samples on FUE/FUT, as that more closely represents what was done in papers and has shown promising results so far.

    Guys,

Dr. Umar has two vials of Verteporfin at his clinic. He’s open to the idea of experimenting. But he could use some encouragement. I’ve tagged him in this Instagram post. Please be sure to like the pinned post. The more people like it, the more likely he is to try it.

Maybe also show him how popular this thread has gotten -- it might be the largest thread on HRN. This verteporfin video has over 100k views:

.  I also have the doc that I made to help doctors into it -- it's a bit outdated but still useful: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1s3JkF9woMIebkXbpE_UxrjBfNy9i7AuBclDqn9HGrAo/edit

    Hi Melvin,

Thank you for hosting this! The bad was the video cut out a few times, so we couldn't get those ideas related. The other thing that would have made the argument more convincing to the doctors is the FAK inhibitors were also tested in red duroc pigs, not just mice. Whenever mice are the subject of hair regeneration from a therapy or drug no one really is convinced as to the potential effectiveness as it relates to humans. I hope some of the doctors were convinced to do their own trials regarding YAP inhibitor Verteporfin (hopefully FAK inhibitors as well) and they should definitely first consult with Dr. Bargouthi about how to correctly go about the process.

I don't know if we should be diluting the efforts from verteporfin. It's true that FAK inhibitors may be more effective, but verteporfin has decades of safety data and is FDA approved while FAK inhibitors aren't, making it much more difficult for doctors to be comfortable with.

I think a lot of it has to do with funding. Dr. Barghouthi initially put up his own money. Not many surgeons want to do that. It would be nice to have a collection of doctors willing to crowdsource the study. I’m working on that.

Yeah, I think the ultimate thing that would get surgeons into this is 1) their kindness and 2) ability to leave a legacy. To be known as the person who has potentially cured hair loss with a treatment without any side effects would just be an amazing feeling.

We will potentially have 2-3 FUT trials in May hopefully. One is a new FUT procedure and one is a revision. These will be done in other clinics with some colleagues (will mention who once they’re happy for me to do so). I will probably travel there to share what I know so far during their trial. Will keep you updated ofcourse.

this is awesome Dr. Barghouthi -- i have no words to describe how thankful I am. As always, please let us know how we can help.

I have to more things I will explore:

I am going to see Zarev soon. I will have to see if he thinks my body hair is something he can work with and blend in the back.

    If not

I go to Mwamba and go for an aggressive Fit Farmin

Anyone has seen an aggressive fit farming on here? By that I mean, the sides are almost all BHT, and are buzz cut. Which is what Mwamba is telling me

When is your consult with Zarev?
