  1. I wouldn't say so, that was just my request because it suits me the best. If I remember correctly they first offered me some date in March so obviously waiting list is around one year long.
  2. I have booked operation with him on April of this year and we've agreed upon my request for December 2023. Price was 7000€ for 2400 grafts (around 3€ per graft) which was his estimate at that time based upon my pictures. You have to pay 800€ of deposit so that they can lock your date. He's still extremely affordable if you take into account results that he's delivering.
  3. I'm from Croatia and in my personal opinion you can't find anything that's worth mentioning on the Balkans, except for dr. Zarev who is actually very close, you can reach him by car easily. That's one of the reasons why I've opted for dr. Freitas in the first place, I wanted to reduce risks associated with surgery as much as I could. You may end up with some good result with that clinic but you're diving into abyss hoping for the best, that does not sound very promising. Plus, you should hold off any thoughts about surgery before you try proven medications. If you want to chat about that in native language, you can PM me.
  4. Still pretty much at the beginning of growth phase and it already looks stunning. Difference can hardly be put into words, this one looks like another home run in the making. And there's so much more to come. Those hairlines that he manages to create never cease to amaze me, absolutely top notch. Can you tell me at which hotel did you stay. Is it Silken? I'm very curious because I have surgery booked for next year.
  5. I was wondering for quite some time about this and decided to post a question just to make things clear(er). Dr. de Freitas gave me online prescription for oral minoxidil and I was able to get it from my drug store but they are always giving me capsules. Does anyone else has any experience with capsules and should I be worried about it? Maybe I'm only overthinking a bit too much, however some kind of confirmation would be very welcomed.
  6. Time to refresh this topic with fresh pictures. I've watched Arsenal today and when Holding came in as a replacement I just couldn't believe it, he looks like completely different person.
  7. There are two major takeaways from this story. Obviously, technique wasn't as advanced as it is today and three separate operations were needed to implant a little over 3000 grafts. When you only hear about some guy that had three operations and you compare that with pictures you would be pretty disappointed about your future outcome. But, reality of the situation is that today you can get more than 3000 grafts in one session and more than double in two. Second thing that has to be pointed out is the fact that DHT blocker wasn't taken for whole decade and this only serves as a cautionary tale for guys that are willing to do HT without meds. I firmly believe that with absolute best doctors today you can have decent and life-changing results for as long as you care in two bigger sessions. Of course, it's necessary to take meds during all that time. There's no way that I'd accept operation from de Freitas next year without dutasteride and oral minoxidil even though he insisted on just finasteride. You better be ready to do everything in your power to protect yourself from the future possibilities or you'll end up being remorseful somewhere down the line.
  8. FIrst of all, I would like to openly say that I've already booked surgery with dr. Freitas for the end of next year. In my consultations with many elite surgeons it became evident that there are slight differences in the way they are recommending medical treatment. It would be nice to create some kind of database based upon your experiences also. De Freitas - 0.5 mg Dutasteride (Monday and Friday), 1mg Finasteride (Tuesday,Wednesday, Thursday, Saturday, Sunday), 5mg oral minoxidil (every single day) Pinto - 0.5 mg Dutasteride (from Monday to Friday), 5mg oral minoxidil (every single day) Ferreira - 1 mg Finasteride (every single day) - insisted that it's more than enough for my case. I'm interested to hear other comments and perhaps valid discussion about which approach makes more sense or what kind of arguments are out there to support that.
  9. No, I have received estimate from HLC and dr. Pinto will certainly give his own prediction in next few days. Dr. Ferreira still hasn't given his own vision but that does not mean that I have something against that. He responded with greatest enthusiasm that you can imagine to everything that I've posted. He absolutely delivers that personal touch and puts your mind to rest with his expertise. It's probably quite normal for many clinics to book surgery and give an estimate along the way.
  10. Thank you Melvin. I'm familiar with their procedure, it is necessary to wait at least 1-2 months for doctor's review of your case. However, if by that time I don't see any response from the clinic Ignacio will certainly be on my list, just to remind him that my case was submitted. With huge influx of messages that they receive daily it's perfectly understandable that some patients disappear from their radar.
  11. And I have also one valid question that probably deserves another thread. Would you book surgery without proper estimate of how many grafts you'll need and how often does that happen?
  12. It was confirmed to me that price was raised to 2,95 €/graft. I have received tremendous feedback from his coordinator Emilio which is really distinguishing dr. Pinto from other clinics that I have contacted. And that includes Ferreira, de Freitas and HLC. I will wait to see what every doctor has to say and then I'll definitely decide.
  13. Would like to hear opinions. Is there considerable difference, are they on the same level, who would you pick and why?
  14. Thank you for kind words. They have informed me that I can expect doctor's prognosis some 4-6 weeks from now. But I was already aware of few instances where files from people were lost or misplaced. My intention is certainly to stay in contact with them and remind them of my case if I don't receive any kind of confirmation. On the other hand I'm still waiting for reply from dr. Ferreira regarding price. I did ask them if it's possible to include older prices if I book their dates immediately. My gut feeling tells me that they are extremely busy and that's why they're trying to book me without proper estimate. I know that it's hard to predict number of grafts based upon pictures but I want rough guess before I book surgery with anyone. I have to say that dr. Pinto asks for so much more details compared with de Freitas or Ferreira during initial communication with his coordinator Emilio. He asked for videos of me combing my whole donor area, for example. As things stay right now, I'm more inclined to go with de Freitas, especially if prices have remained the same. But, you can hardly miss with this trio, they are truly outstanding.
  15. Thank you, Melvin. In the meantime, I was able to get response and they have accepted my pictures via e-mail. Unfortunately, they are not willing to disclose prices before doctor does his assessment. I think that De Freitas is worth every penny, however.
  16. It's impossible to upload images within form provided by his clinic. Every single time window pops out that contains message: unexpected error. Has anyone else encountered this problem? I've tried to compress pictures, to alter format, but nothing helps. Advice would be greatly appreciated because their customer service isn't very forthcoming and ignores my inquiries.
  17. I also want to add that dr. Bruno Pinto increased his price, this was confirmed to me by Emilio, his coordinator. It's now 2,95 euros/graft. Unfortunately, that's understandable if we take into account current situation where prices are really skyrocketing every where. That table from Portugal25 needs some revision, haha.
  18. Yeah, thank you for the encouragement, I'll certainly try to do that because there is nothing to lose, I'm certainly not rushing into anything. I will let you know what happened at the end.
  19. Yeah, I've paid for FastTrack before when it was available and he was replying swiftly every time since then. He reviewed two different sets of pictures after 9 months of finasteride consumption and confirmed that I'm suitable candidate. Alexandra sent me today pricing ranges and up until that point everything was going smoothly, haha.
  20. Yeah, I'll wait and see until I receive graft estimate. I really do value his work and he always replied readily, even on Sundays which was really helping to establish trust and piece of mind. It's tough, you don't want to place budget among the most important priorities. But, I come from Croatia and even though I work as an civil engineer, this is really stretching my budget close to the breaking point. This really caught me off guard, I didn't expect it.
  21. I just wanted to share this piece of information with everyone else on this community. Unfortunately, I thought that I was about to book hair transplant but now I have second thoughts because this is really stretching my budget. I think that I'll have to switch my attention to dr. Pinto and wait for his assessment. I really wanted to go with Ferreira but he has jumped out of my league financially.
  22. Let's take a look at the positives here: - You have great amount of hair for someone who is 40 years old. I believe that it's getting hard to style and that weather conditions make it look awful sometimes but there's always a good old hair spray that can save the day. - Even though you haven't posted before it's clearly obvious that you have studied this field to some degree. You have chosen one of the best out there and you didn't rush into it before taking any kind of medications. That doesn't happen by chance. - If you still insist on hair transplant or if it becomes more viable option after consumption of oral minoxidil there are other doctors in the field who are specialized in harder cases, dr. Jose Lorenzo is definitely one of them. But, don't get me wrong, dr. Bisanga deserves all the credit that he receives, he's undoubtedly on the top of the food chain. - As Melvin mentioned there is always that possibility that some other therapy proves to be jackpot in terms of hair maintenance or regrowth (dutasteride can always be considered, if it affects your body to the point that it's messing up with your everyday life you can always decide to let it go). - If the hair loss bothers you so much that you are spending too much time in front of the mirror or you don't feel satisfaction for any other reason whatsoever you can try to shave it. Shaved head would certainly make you feel liberated, at least at the start. SMP can always add that extra touch to the look and make you feel more happy with yourself. I strongly advise anyone to stay positive and patient, no matter how hard their current situation is. Just imagine sometimes how much harder it is for some people in comparison to you. There are people without limbs, people suffering from all kinds of incurable diseases, they have it much worse but they still persevere.
  23. Can you maybe post pictures from the back of your head? It would be interesting to see how that part of donor looks like in your case.
  24. Maybe it's not that apparent from these camera angles but frontal recession is very obvious and it makes my already big forehead more prominent. Plan would certainly be to bring symmetry to the face and frame it in the best possible way. That doesn't necessarily mean that hairline has to be lowered, someone as skilled as dr. Ferreira can certainly pull it off by implanting reasonable amount of grafts at the existing hairline which would make great difference. Temple points are another potential area for few hundred grafts. Again, everything revolves around medications and how I respond to them. Patience is paramount as well as balanced expectations, everything else should be put aside and considered entirely redundant, at least for now. I really appreciate kind words and support.
