Customer service type of job. I don't care about the customers seeing me. I don't know any of them personally nor care what they might think. It's my co-workers that I'd rather not reveal the surgery to. And please, to all, no I'm just not comfortable with the "Just be open about it!" mindset. Just a personal choice. I work for a big company and would just rather it not go around that I'm the guy who got "hair plugs" as people still call them most of the time.

Just curious what others' experiences were like. I don't have much of a problem going back with a buzzcut out of nowhere for a month before my native hair grows back enough, but I am concerned about the redness. I feel like I will be prone to redness and that would be quite weird and embarrassing for people to see. I've heard that you can apply some light makeup but the whole thing seems like a bit much, especially considering it will probably fade off after a few hours, then I'd have to go touch it up in the bathroom, etc. Also, no, I cannot wear a hat at work. TIA

I just saw your other thread with the frontal photos. Yes that is pretty aggressive hair loss for only 27. Medication would be the first course of action but I still think a HT for the frontal third to reframe your face wouldn't be a bad idea. I'm not sure about your temples/sides but it looks like a wide frontal third to cover so you may be looking at a large number of grafts.

Maybe it's just me but that donor looks fine, and I've seen an endless amount of photos of HT's / donors over the years and have seen plenty that have looked worse. Maybe this doc is just very conservative/selective? Sure maybe the hairs aren't as thick as tree trunks but I don't see any reason a HT of a few thousands grafts can't make a nice impact. 

That's nothing. I once saw a video of a dude who's eyes blew up like baseballs bc of the drop in swelling. I hope yours has gone away by now.

Final update? Did the redness fade away?

You want to avoid any kind of UV rays, whether from the actual sun or a tanning bed, for many months after a transplant. Based on all I've read though, you should be in the clear within 4-6 months. That being said, even if you did go into the sun after that timeframe, I'd still make sure it's very moderate and that you don't end up burnt at all.

For 10 weeks/2 1/2 months I would be thrilled, wow. That is definitely early growth. While I can't help but feel like 3500 grafts in such a relatively small area was overdoing it, at the same time I trust this doctors approach. I guess bc of just how dense the rest of your hair is he wanted to try and match it?

I understand where you're coming from. I know all too well what it's like to look in the mirror and see your hairline receded badly and just wanting to do anything to get it back. Personally I would not suggest smp in your case but that's just me. If you truly understand all the potential consequences of a HT given your particular situation (i.e. You will likely need at least one more procedure down the road once your forelock thins out, if DUPA persists further the FUE scars may very well become more noticeable, and also that you will likely have a completely bald crown one day without grafts to cover it, etc) then I do think a conservative 2200-2500 graft (or so) procedure for the front could give you what you want, reframing your face and adding some density to the overall frontal third area. Pekiner is one of the few best in Turkey, but if you have the funds financially, I would suggest staying in the US for all the obvious reasons. I had a consult with Dr. Dorin and he was great, just way too expensive for me.

What do you meant you had a hair transplant "at DHI". Which clinic?

Are you on finasteride? If not, the rest of your forelock and midscalp appear as if they will thin out over time and you will need a second surgery. Also, I'd go with Turan's approach. 

Doesn't get much better than this for a NW 7 3700 grafts, and you still have a ways to go. Add some dermatch or fibers for even more visual improvement.

I don't think anything went truly "wrong" here at all other than a bit of planning. The design of the hairline and the growth were all great. The problem lies in the amount of grafts chosen for the area. I'd say you should have been given 3000-3200, not 2500. It definitely sucks to have to go back for a "touch up" even if it is free of charge (i.e. flight costs), but I feel you would be happy in the long term if you do.

I feel for you man. For the time being you can use some Dermatch type of product like Lebron.

You can get it from either side or even both. If your paternal side has all NW7's and you're losing hair in your 30's but your maternal side has flawless hair, that may play into things and give you hope for not going full NW7.
