  1. Hi all, Apologies for the delay on the update here - the clinic called me after this post and I was not impressed with the reaction. I did not speak to my original patient coordinator, Andreea, as she was out on maternity leave. Shoutout to Andreea again, she was the only good part of this whole experience. It was very much a sense of "why did you not contact us first?". I know how this works, I think we all know. If I didn't use a platform such as this, I likely wouldn't have got a call from them. It took a few YouTube videos for the previous person mentioned(planetstephen) to get some repair work completed. The part that was really frustrating was when I asked about repair work, and I said "I assume there will be a discount?". The response was "all returning clients get 15% off, but let me talk to the doctor". I didn't bother following up. I did a lot of research before I went and I believed ASMED was a good choice, but I think I got mine done around the time where their model shifted to a hair mill. I think they're doing dental work now too, which sums it up for me. I feel like I lost a lot of grafts, probably due to poor implanting, in the recovery phase. You can see in the photos after surgery that the grafts don't look gappy. But there was definitely hairs lost in the recovery. My barber was so shocked by it all and she cuts a lot of transplanted hair. She said my left side is ok, but on my right side there are just small islands of scalp where hair was either lost in the recovery phase, or just not implanted at all. I am going to contact a few clinics in London to see if I can get some repair work. For now, I am using Toppik to fill in the gaps. I don't mind using Toppik, but I'm just so conscious of the obvious gaps, I feel like I should do something about it.
  2. I guess the positive is it’s not that terrible of a result and will require a few more grafts to fill in the gaps/density. What I mean is it’s not the only elite super expensive surgeon can repair terrible result, any competent non-hairmill surgeon will fix you right up - really appreciate this comment. It's helpful because I do believe I won't have to spend a really high amount to get it fixed. Lesson learned though, I will know for future transplants. I'd like to think I've helped a few people here that are thinking of going to ASMED in the future. Just forget about the clinic or touch ups or whatever. Refund is obviously out of the question, I haven’t seen elite doctors offer free touch ups much less refunds, this is a hairmill after all and I would be surprised if any sort of that happens. Even if they offer free touch up, are you going to take it?? Of course not - I suppose that is the acid test here. I had looked back on the "planetstephen" stuff before and there was another post where they have offered a refund/discount to a client. Their next step here is important and I will keep this thread updated with the feedback. If they care about turning around their reputation, because it has clearly been declining the last few years, then their communication with after care is crucial. The really frustrating part is that my two friends went to Hair of Istanbul and they got better results.
  3. Thanks for the honesty Melvin! I have sent them details on this post, but I can tag them here @ASMEDMANUALFUE Let's hope I get a fair solution!
  4. Have you got a photo of your crown? That's the best one I have on my laptop. I can't find the USB with all the photos at the moment. I had seen these photos and it didn't bother me. Other consultations had said that it will eventually thin there, but it was delivered in a "sales" manner at ASMED. I would definitely contact the clinic and your coordinator and well as JT directly with photos showing your concerns. I've sent this post to the clinic. I've to fill out a form to get Tillman's attention, but I'll pursue him. I respected his work, but I can't believe he's still backing ASMED. may I ask if you had any complications post surgery? None at all there was a guy on YouTube under the username “planetstephen” that had his done at asmed. He may even have a forum post here. He received a poor result which they ended up redoing for free. Could be an option depending on how much you trust it. Another clinic would most likely be a better option but still a frustrating outcome! I did see his clips before but it looks he has deleted them all now. At this point if they offered me Erdogan for the whole fix, I'd take it. Shouldn't be a big job to fix it. Again, sorry for your results, clinic have done you dirty here. Appreciate the empathy dude!
  5. I followed the journey below and the results looked good. I also read good reports online, but I can now see that there was definitely a change in quality in the last few years. I may have been reading historic posts. The discount was a major draw. My two friends that went to Hair of Istanbul got cheaper rates then me and better results.
  6. Is he easy to get in contact with? I was shocked when I saw him repping them
  7. I haven't had much communication with them. But I will be sending them this post.
  8. Age: 30 Donor Capacity: 9000 grafts Grafts used this surgery: 3243 Ratio: 2.00 hair/graft Temporal: 485 grafts @ 1.74 hair/graft Parietal: 1401 grafts @ 2.02 hair/graft Occipital 1357 grafts @ 2.07 hair/graft Singles: 638 Doubles: 1997 Triples: 579 Quadruples: 26 Quintuple: 3 Sextuple: 0 I debated whether or not I would publish this post, but I believe these posts are beneficial for people who are looking at future hair transplants. I travelled to Turkey in November 2020 for my hair transplant at ASMED. I got a reduced rate for my transplant because of covid. I can’t fully remember, but I think I saw the offer online. The offer was pretty much “if you take the risk to fly to Turkey we will charge you at a cheaper rate”. I booked the transplant around May, I was supposed to travel in June but it was cancelled due to restrictions. Andreea was my patient coordinator. She was amazing, so helpful and welcoming. Can’t give her enough praise. First day: First photos were taken and I was brought into Dr. Erdogan’s office and met him. We discussed my hair, the transplant and what I wanted. This was the first part that I was disappointed with. I had attended other consultations and I was told the only area to worry about was my frontal area. But Dr. Erdogan showed me a picture of my crown and said it was thinning. I couldn’t see any ALARMING amounts of thinning in the photos he was showing me and he did say that there was no need to add hair here for this transplant, but I would need to consider a future transplant there at 35. The bit I was disappointed with here is that this was new information to me and I was a bit shocked. It was delivered in a very “”matter of fact” manner, I tried to portray that I was surprised but, it was just quite cold. As many people in here would know, conversations like this impact your mental health and I just found there was a lack of empathy in the room at that point. It felt a very “sales” orientated. Dr. Erdogan drew on a hairline and asked me to check the mirror. I asked about my temple points. He agreed and drew the temple points. I was told this would cost more, but I said I was happy with paying more. I did push back a little bit on the frontal hairline as I felt it was a bit lower than expected. I was worried about the density of the new hairline, and I asked about raising the hairline to ensure I was getting better density. I was assured that it would be fine. My worries were proven correct, as you will see in the photos below. I was then taken to the salon room and my head was shaved. I was then brought in for some more photographs, and there were about 5/6 nurses in the room. Dr. Erdogan walked in again. One of the nurses briefed the room in Turkish, I’m guessing she was giving details on my transplant. Dr. Erdogan then said a few words and then all walked around me at different angles and suggested small changes to the hairline. When this was done, they asked me to inspect the hairline in the mirror. I expressed concern about the lowering of the hairline and my forehead lines interrupting the hairline. Again, I was reassured that this was fine. My main regret here is not pushing this more. As you will see in my photos, the density is absolutely terrible. Surgery day: First part of the surgery lasted until about 12/1pm and then I had a break. I was starving, but I knew from previous posts that patients got a lunch at this point. I was in my room awaiting a lunch, but 20 mins went by and nothing came. Andreea returned to my room and said “ok, let’s go for part 2”. I asked about the food, but I was told that “food wasn’t recommended during the surgery”. I am livid with myself for not pushing back on this because I was so hungry. I met two other patients after the surgery and they didn’t get food at this interval either. Very strange. Next part was the incisions. Dr. Erdogan completed these incisions. Then the team was left to do the implanting. I was pretty spaced out at the stage. The surgery ended about 5pm. I was brought back to my room and I got food straight away. Dr. Erdogan and the nurses then visited my room and talked about the surgery. They said they were happy. I then asked Andreea about the ATP spray, but I was told it was not needed. I also asked why I was not taken to the laser cap treatment after surgery. Again, I was told this was not needed. Both of these features were in the original plan and I know that ASMED gave them to previous patients. Like the lack of lunch, I found it a bit strange. Felt like a cost saving exercise for the clinic. Next day I was transported to the airport and went home to recover. The first photos I’ve attached are from the day of the consultation day. Then I have attached some from after the surgery. The other photos are the results now. No point in adding the other photos in for the months in between. Overall, I am disappointed with the density on my left side, it is quite poor. The hairline didn’t need to be lowered in my opinion. I had two friends that went to Hair of Istanbul after me and they now have better results than me. Maybe it was a risk with the cheaper rates during covid, but I feel a bit duped. I will definitely need a second op in the near future to improve the density. Feel pretty cheated with it all. Wet hair pre-op: Pre-op, graft calculation: After surgery: 22 month result:
