Dr. Cooley said that he would remove the front row of old plugs one at a time. He felt that he would put a stitch in the large holes if needed. It will leave some scar but he felt it would heal nicely. However, it the scar was to obvious he would go back later and remove an entire strip with the old plug scars. He would then slice up the plugs into individual hairs and replant them higher up. He felt that he could get 2000 from my donor area. He felt that he could give me a dramatic improvement over my current situation. I will keep everyone posted.

Today I drove up to Charlotte, NC and met with Ailene and Dr. Cooley. I was very impressed with how thorough and how much time they spent with me. I was there for over two hours. I am in the process of researching Dr.'s for repair work. When I had my first HT 15 yrs ago I recall that my forehead was very swollen for about five days. I remember looking like Herman Munster. Wiht the new techniques used today do you get the forehead swelling? I have not seen anyone mention this problem on the board.

Socialdrinker Dr. Cooley did a great job. Were you his only patient that day? When do you have the stitches out? Does Dr. Cooley offer staples or sutures. I was just curious based on discussions on this board between staples or sutures. Anyway, you look great. I have a consult with Dr. Cooley on Monday the 28th. I just hope he can offer me so good news regarding repair work. I believe you have seen my photos and know that I need extensive repair work.

I have gone to his site for research and he seems to have very good credentials. Is there a list of Dr's who will reimburse you for airfare, hotel etc if you book a procedure with them. How about just going for a consult?

I am trying to post some pics of my bad HT on this board. I am not very computer literate. I have downloaded the pics from my camera to my computer but I am not sure how to place them in the message section for everyone to see? Could someone please help!

I am also going to contact Dr. Cooley regarding a consultation. I see that you live in Columbia, I live in Aiken SC. Are you having any repair work done? I need repair work from a previous bad HT 15 yrs ago. What does Dr. Cooly charge per graft if I may ask?

Thanks for both comments. It seems that i do have some options to repair the hair line. However, does anyone have any idea about costs? I just do not have much money but desperately need to have repair work done. Again, thanks for the info.

I cannot afford a dig camera right now. So I bought a disposible camera, took some pics of my head with the old bad HT for the free transplant photo. I got them developed on a disc and loaded them on my computer. However, the pics were very washed out and you really could not see the old HT just my scalp? I took them in my bathroom with bright light. Any suggestions on how to make the pics better so you can see the old HT?
