Well I am at 4 1/2 months post op.I do have some growth but there is not much density and it appears that some of the grafts have not come in. I have also had some severe shock loss. However, it is much better than what I had. Let me know what you think. -
It is good to be back. My computer crashed about five weeks ago and I just got it repared. So far most of the growth is from the old plugs. There is some fine new growth but nothing to get excited about. I hope over the next sixty days I will really start to see something. I have had a significant amount of hairloss around the crown! This has concerned me. I know everyone talks about shock loss and I assume that is what is happening.I just cannot afford to lose anyone hair.

Well I am close to three months post op. Most of the growth seems to be from the old plugs which were partially removed. However, I do believe that there is some new growth. Some of the old hailine plugs are still visible but I hope the new hair will hide them. Anyway, It is a huge improvement over what i had prior to the procedure.

The waiting is the hardest part. So far everything seems to be going well. I am surprised that some of the old plugs which were removed have actually started to grow again? I may have to have some additional work on some of the old plugs in the hairline.

I am about four weeks post op. I have noticed that the hair around my crown area has thinned since I had the HT. Is this shock loss? Will the hair grow back? I cannot afford to loose anymore hair.

Could someone explain shock loss. Does it refer to the newly transplanted hair or the existing hair at or near the donor area? Does the existing hair fall out as a result of SHOCK from the HT? If the hair starts to fall out will it grow back?

I am just a few days away from my one month post op. I just wish I was three months along. To me the improvement is a dramatic improvement over what was there prior to the procedure with Dr. Charles. I just hope I have enough donor grafts left for another 2000!

Last night I was reading the post from foreigner and looking at his pics. he was a NW 6-7 and had scalp reduction surgery and then HT's a while later. His results look very good. Could someone explain how a scalp reduction is done. I do not fully understand the process. Can you have the reduction done after you have had HT's? has anyone else on this board had a reduction with good success?

I appears that many of the people who post pics are NW 2-4. Does anyone know of someone who has posted pics after having HT's who is or was a NW5-6?

Everything seems to be going well. I still have some large scabs where Dr. Charles removed some of the large old plugs behind the hair line. These were so large he had to cauterize the area after the plug was removed. I can't wait for the next procedure. I wish I could go back to Dr.Charles next week!

If I want to have another HT how long should you wait between procedures? The first one I had was to the hairline. I want to try and get some coverage on top and maybe a little more repair on the old plugs in a section of my hairline. Once the donor area is healed is it OK to proceed?

Eventhough my results at the two week point are not very dramatic, it is still a huge improvement over what I had prior to the procedure. I am still going to need additional work done on the left side of my hair line and on top. I just hope that I have enough in the donor area for another 2000.

Staples, Stitches & Sutures..OH MY!...How do you choose?

I also just had a HT out of state in Florida. Dr. Charles who did my HT uses stitches. I am only two weeks post op and my scar is very hard to see my scar even if you pull my hair up in back. I was also concerned about who was going to remove the sutures. I have a dermatologist who I have seen and i discussed my HT with him. he agreed to remove the sutures. -

I have seen some photos of Toppik users on this site. However, most of the before pics show that the individual had a decent amount of hair. Is there anyone on the MB that uses Toppik and has very thin fine hair in the crown that can post some before and after pics? My crown is very bare and I want to know if this product with give me coverage in the crown.

Dr. Charles gave me an antibiotic to take for three days after the procedure. He also gave me some pain pills which I never needed. Extra strength tylonel worked fine. I do take MSM and vitamin E and used an ice pack for the first week. By the way, are you a St. Louis Ram fan as your name suggests? I am a huge Ram fan who lives in South Carolina.
