  1. Hi, John, Esma and Serkan Tetik. I know cash only isn't ideal but trust them from what I've read. It's just easy to freak out a bit when someone puts thoughts in your mind.
  2. I mentioned it to my brother, who's a police officer, and now my heads full of comments about being robbed by the clinic and left for dead 😄
  3. Thanks, both. I just worry my bank, HSBC, might put a lock on my account if I use my card over there, as they can be a bit dramatic with security sometimes, even though I plan to notify them of my trip. Rather just have cash in hand.
  4. At first I was thinking the equivalent of pounds, but 2000 Lira seems a bit much considering all I'm paying for is three evenings room service and a single taxi 😄 Any advice?
  5. So I got my travel pillow but now it occurs to me that the travel pillow will still be touching the donor area? Is this okay?
  6. Thanks, again, John. Like my tour guide 😄 My preference would definitely be to go to sleep for eight hours and then someone tap me on the shoulder and say ''all done''. I mean, what sort of position are you in during a transplant, sat upright, laying on your belly? Would I be able to have my head tilted in the manner you'd need to play games? Watching the Turkish version of F.R.I.E.N.D.S for eight hours doesn't really appeal 😄
  7. Thought I would ask some other basic questions, for myself, and anybody else in the future. What do people do during the procedure? I was thinking of getting one of those cheap Gameboy things with the four hundred games to play during. Or do people listen to music, watch TV? How does charging ones phone work in Turkey? Do I need to take some kind of converter? Does my phone just access the internet as if I were in England? Do I shave my head myself the day before, or is it something that has to be done on the day by the clinic? Is there anything anyone should know when traveling to Turkey? Sorted a new passport. Figuring out the payment situation. Thinking about all the little details, like a travel pillow, but want to make sure I don't get over there and realise I've not done something important.
  8. Thanks, John. I'm going to go in to HSBC next week and get all the info I need about using my debit card, which apparently is just the same as using it in the UK. I'll update this though because others like Hairgain will benefit.
  9. Thanks, John. The surgeon I'm using doesn't speak English and our communications are done through Google translate, so I'm trying to keep things as basic as possible and was hoping it was a straightforward answer I didn't need to bother him with. It seems cash is the preference, but I have no idea what that means. If I stick my card in a Turkish cash machine will I be able to withdraw the amount in Turkish cash or Euro's, whichever it is? Do I have to get the cash over here at the travel exchange and take it there? Somebody must know?
  10. Can I take my Visa debit card and just withdraw the money from a cash machine? I don't especially want to have to take thousands of pounds in my luggage, nor convert thousands of pounds in to whatever the currency is in Turkey and take it over there, if that's the thing? I haven't been abroad in a good while, like I said, so I have no clue about this stuff.
  11. Thanks, all. Gatsby, The clinic I'm going to, I've read a lot of threads from other guys that have been there, and happy with my choice. I am aware of the risks of going to Turkey. It was actually one of the main posters on here that led me to the clinic in question. Neil, Thanks for the advice about the bank transfer. I'll see what they say about that. MachoVato, Thanks for mentioning the card fee's and about the pillow.
  12. Not sure if this is the place to post this or even appropriate but I have some general questions that I was hoping someone could answer. After the transplant, would it be okay to wear a hood over my head? It's obviously not like a hat, it's just a hood loosely over the head. I'm just thinking about how self-conscious I'll be on the plane and airport back. I'm going to Antalya for my transplant, so it won't be like Istanbul with other transplant patients. How is payment handled? I've been told it's cash, so do I need to take out x amount of Turkish currency or euro's? Can I use my Visa card to take out the money over there? I'll ask my clinic too. Will a travel pillow be of use? I thought I had more questions 😄 I guess that's it for now. Anybody wants to offer any advice, that'd be appreciated too. Haven't traveled since I was a kid, so bit anxious.
  13. Well, I mean, it wasn't really a conversation, I was just hoping to get more information on the almost mythical cheap Turkish transplant surgeon that's recommended on this forum, and assumed others would been having the same problem, as there's nothing extraordinary about my laptop. But of course, it's a hair loss issue, so of course the website won't work ðŸĪŠ
  14. Thanks. With me all I get is just the text from the site, but when you try to click on a thread the page just times out. I don't have an iPhone.
  15. I apologise, as I'm sure this has been asked, but I couldn't find the answer. How long does one have to wait between FUE transplants, if the first one was on the front and middle, and the second on the crown?
  16. Thanks, Portugal. I know, it's just it won't display properly, no matter what I do. Just wondered if anyone had managed to get it to work. Curiously, the first ever time I went on there it was fine.
  17. I understand we can't link to other websites but people might know the one I'm talking about? I'd just be interested to see their reviews but the site just won't function. Anyone got it to work?
