I first wanted to get the honest opinion of the gentlemen in this forum. I am 2 years post op (Dr. Cortez HMR), and I feel as though the 1,800 grafts I got could have been better. With that being said, I have 3 questions:
1. Is my result common for my hair/ skin tone?
2. Should I trust the same doctor or go to a different one?
3. How many grafts for density would you recommend(2nd procedure)?
First 3 are after. 4-6 are before. Last is in direct sunlight

I'm new to the transplant world and had a couple questions about temporal point reconstruction. I know it's a very crafty procedure that requires artistry and experience because of the angling. What are some doctors you recommend for such a procedure? Any outside of the U.S.? Thanks in advance!

Thanks John! I am generally very happy with the result. I will be honest, there are some spots in my donor area that even I can't tell were harvested lol

Your donor looks incredible, I don’t think you need anymore hair, but of course hair greed gets us all!
Thank you for the input, I think at this point I will continue to maintain what I have and prepare to get a touch up if need be in the future.

As I keep hearing, sometimes even when we get a solid result we always want a little more (when you look at your own hair everyday, you always find something wrong or good).
So I am going to post some before and after pics of my 1800 graft FUE procedure from Tijuana Mx (Dr. Cortez). I am generally happy with the result, but on my right side it seems a bit lagging? Maybe it's the natural progression of my loss? I also keep my hair shorter than most guys with a transplant so that might be a factor. And to be fair I have not used finasteride religiously this year, but looking to get back on a steady pace. Here is the order of the photos: First 5 pics are pre op. 2 weeks post op. 2 months. 3 months. 4 months. 5 months. 6 months. 9 months I'm outside. 11 1/2 months 4 photos and donor area with double zero blade. LAST 5 PICTURES ARE RANDOM PICTURE I CAN NOT DELETE
I would like to get your opinions on the overall result? I will admit I'm a bit sensitive on the topic, so please only constructive criticism. Thank you so much in advance!

I have a couple questions for the veterans. Keep in mind, although I'm very happy I also have some thoughts:
1. Is it normal to not achieve the density you want with 1 transplant?
2. Is it normal for the transplanted hair to be darker than native hair?
3. Is it normal to have a transplanted spot that seems to have lagged behind in terms of density?

Looks fantastic 😀 you must be really happy with it
I am! I think for my age my doctor did a good job of being conservative, but still providing me with good hair coverage. Plus the placement of the hair shafts is on par with what I remember as a young 20 year old. I can either keep it as is or go back for a small procedure for density, either way I can live happy with what I have now 👍

Absolutely! They were terrific in answering all my questions thoroughly and patiently. Their English is pretty good, but some things I had to say in Spanish. So that would be the only thing I would tell someone who is considering a procedure with them. Go in with a direct game plan and communicate that.

Isn’t that HMR? I’ve seen some great results on YouTube, they’re definitely doing good work.
Yes sir! HMR is the clinic. I believe it's two brothers, Jimmy and Jorge Cortez

I just wanted to say thank you all for the positive words of encouragement. I know I still have a ways to for my final result. Even still, I know some guys go back for a second or third procedure for density but for now I am riding this one out and see what happens.
Additional details: I went with Dr. Cortez in Tijuana Mexico. I am also on Fin (5mg 1 once a week), Ketoconzole 2% shampoo and minoxidil.

*DEEP BREATH*.... I am a first time poster and I am a bit nervous to do so (I tend to be a shy person by nature).
I won't go into too much detail at this point but just go with the essential facts: I got a hair transplant almost 9 months ago (9 months in 10 days) and I just wanted to get some alternative opinions of where I am at in the hair growth process. My procedure was 1,800 grafts FUE, all on the hairline. Thoughts of the overall progress?
*My personal opinion is that the yield looks a little low for the amount of grafts that I got so far. Is it possible that more will grow in the coming months?

Should I go back for a 2nd procedure?
