Has anyone ever got an explanation as to why Diep implants grafts in rows like this?
I asked , He said it's the only way to get density . I made sure to make it clear I did not want that kind placement . As you can see he didnt and grafts are very densely packed in .

I got a second procedure with dr.diep . . Here some pix before the surgery and after . Had my procedure on 6/27/2022 3 days ago . Objective was mostly to add density and fill in my corners some more .
last procedure was 1000 grafts this 1 was the same at 1001singles 128 , two 486 ,three 292 , four 95

He did start from left to right both extraction and incision . Yeah I agree ! Yeah hair transplant isn’t a guarantee and could be hit and miss . All that being said diep does have good result far as yields go with out a doubt I’m barely at 5 months and it’s looking full and getting thick ! I have have friends and some acquaintances I know in England that have gone to Harley st with great yields and extraction was spread out through back and sides of head I seemed that teq leaves a better and undetectable donor as long with a natural look in recepient area

I was knocked out for most of the procedure with Dr. Diep, but you seem to have been awake for all of it. Do you remember if he marked the donor site for symmetrical extraction at all? As far as I could tell, as soon as the shaving was done and the anesthesia kicked in, he just went right into extraction.
He didn’t mark extraction . Sums up about what I remember as well . He did all the extractions out really quick ,made incisions really fast and left . Honestly he was in the room no longer an hour total time , it was mostly his assistants who I spent most my time with . Although I do feel like he short cuts his teq/work to complete 2 surgeries a day plus endless consultation meetings . The guy does execute and from what I’ve seen results aren’t bad . I feel like mine to soon to tell but not bad ,I’m just worried about my donor and the cornrow field appearance.

Great to see early growth which is good!
Pretty sure nobody would notice your donor outside of the HT world (and even then prob not at that length). Is that as low a guard as you want to shave your head?
Thanx man yeah me too ! Yeah the hair is starting to really come in now =D and I wish I could go A lower guard a around 3 or so I like skin fades but , idk looks like I’m going to have to let it grow out more ? My gf said you can’t tell unless your paying attention and look at it at an angle and in certain lighting ... ? Some examples at a lower guard (4) in different lighting . Is the donor area pretty much done as far as healing and growth back there goes ??

Past due for an update in 2 days it will be my 19th week and today marks day 131 ! Growth is really starting to thicken up . My donor area still looks Sketch (in the pic, sides/back is a 7 guard) to me it still looks over harvested . My right side Of recepient area at an angle has that corn field row appearance and the left is fairly undetectable .
-
Most defenitly ! I feel the same way my donor the same as you know but hopefully does improve in the time to come .. oh you haven’t touched the transplanted hairs ?! It’s going look a ton better when it matches length of other hair
-
It’ll blend in a lot more when the recipient hairs catch up to the other hair and after the hair cut to even it out .mind looked really off the other day but after I cut it all same length it made a lot of difference and I see what you mean but I think your right should see how those singles come out in front

13 week update . There’s been a lot growth since last week . In person the hairline looks more dense but the donor is still looking really ugly I even have some scabs still .. guard is 7 on top and 4/3 on sides/back
@Tentpole91 done . There is that row appearance a little on mine

Yesterday marked the 12th week post op ! And I’m starting to see hairs grow now !! I stopped cutting my hair down a couple weeks ago and am now going to start letting it grow out .. my donor in the light looks really noticeable still . Other than that not much to report just popping in to update . Guard on top is about a 7~

@LonelyGraft I believe it was a 1mm punch

Tomorrow marks 8 weeks and so far the recovery process has sucked and this ugly duckling phase of no hair has been a bummer . Nothing really to show because of the shedding . I keep buzzing my hair down to a 3 guard . I am very disappointed with my donor area and how extraction was done . Thought whole point of FUE was to be undetected .. this point of how donor looks I minus well have went with FUT . But yeah . Do you guys know when I can see some new hair in recipient area
-
@Tentpole91 100% agree I have seen some people’s donor completely undetectable of any patches/scars after a month or so . Due to spreading them out . I also would have liked the same .

@Tentpole91 have any progress pics?? Eager see how it’s looking .

+10000 I agree with you. It´s so so weird doing this... I had never seen this way and I have been following Forums for 10 years... I´m also thinking that the reason here is that it´s easier and quicker for the person doing the extractions. But what about the patient´s opinion on this? I think this approach should always be discussed with the patient.
If this patient wants to wear pretty short hair in the future I´m sure you will be able to see this issue...Apart from this, all looks good up there and the receding hairline will be completely gone in a few months!
Thanks for sharing : )Yeah I wish I was consulated about the harvesting decision . At the moment I’m not happy about donor area compared to others but it’s still early to tell . Imo it does look over harvested but we’ll just have to wait and see . I would have like somethingDr Raghu Reddy does in is work with his teq.here is a day 11 donor 2 pics 1 with flash

I went back told dr.diep what I didn't like and he was very helpful and understanding . If it's 1 thing about dr. Diep the yield and graft survival rate on his work is very high . Wich made me go back . Happy I did so he really went in and did exactly what I wanted
