Yes - Turkey is one of the only countries that do not require a visa for travel and seems to be the most affordable option for me / Every other country requires a visa and is way more expensive to travel to - aside from the operation costs

Are u from Lebanon and live there?

Thank you for responding - do you mind letting me know where you did your HT or if you have any good suggestions in mind for an HT in Turkey? Also how much it cost you? (If you're okay with sharing that info)

    Would be greatly appreciated

Of course we are here to help people to avoid bad transplants...I can tell you where i did my hair transplant but i don’t work for them I’m just patient so I don’t wanna sound like other people that say go there...i can just name you some good ethical doctors like dr Lorenzo,dr freitas In  spain, a few in Belgium like Bisanga and feriduni and turkey there is a few really good choices but they are expensive hence the higher prices like kaan pekiner,HLC,kesser and erdogan but again depends on your hair loss try to find the best doctor for your case hope it helped mate

    Hi Panamera13,

I see from the comments that I’m risking an unpopular opinion here, but I think Dr. Erdogan’s 5000 grafts was the best estimate.

Maybe I’m unsure of your objectives, but I assume you’re looking for full coverage and a new hairline.

Looking at your photos, I estimate you’d have a recipient area of about 150cm2 (depending on where you place the hairline). With 5000 grafts you’d get an average density of less than 35 units per square centimeter. Now, the photos aren’t good enough to judge your current coverage, but from the top view you posted, it looks like you don’t have much coverage and you have a lot of miniaturization. So, the ~35 grafts/cm2 together with the hair you have now would be *just* enough to get you close to full coverage.

Of course, I can’t say how good your donor area is, how thick your hair is, how many average hairs per folicular unit you have, but from the macro shots it looks okay, even though I haven’t seen your temporal-parietal areas. (CosmoKramer very correctly suggested you post those photos.)

That being said, I’d still first put you on finasteride first at a lower dosage, so you can stabilize your alopecia and keep that hair you have there, whilst also lowering the chances of shock loss when it’s time for surgery. At 40 years old, standard dosage would also be an option, to see if you can get some improvement before surgery. (Edit: Just saw you complained of side effects. So it would be of interest to clear that up.)

I’d do it in two surgeries though.

So, with the info I have currently available, that’s what I’d plan for you. (All would be subject to confirmation in a live consultation, of course.)

Also risking sounding biased since we work together (and only because CosmoKramer mentioned him), I’d also suggest Dr. Lorenzo. We do advanced alopecias on a daily basis, so I know he’s very experienced in cases like yours.

Quite a few great options and talented doctors were mentioned here though, so I think you’ll be fine with more than one of the choices given.

    Best of luck! :)

#IMO (I should just go ahead and point out that this is just an opinion and not a medical consultation, since it could never be one.)

Dr Lorenzo is a badass one of the best in the world he needs to be mentioned his name even more in this forum

Hi,  I've been meaning to give an update just been a real busy time moving jobs/house!

The picture attached is at 2 months and 1 week, I feel like I might be slightly lagging behind people at the same point in time but I'm keen to hear what you guys think. I've been told this month and the next the growth should start to accelerate.

Also sometimes I notice dead skin in my recipient area and when I rub it (gently) away in the shower a hair or two may go with it. Has anyone else experienced this? Currently wash my hair 3 times a week if that info helps.

i got a bit of shock loss going on but that’s something I expected probably  next week gonna go to the barbers to trim the sides and tide it up a lil bit hopefully my native hair gonna grow a bit more and I’ll try and use toppik as I have to go to work next week

if u got any questions feel free to ask and let me know what u think about my progress so far 🤟

Thanks for the reply. Looks like I’ll stay clear then.

Not sure on which clinic to use now

Yes just check patients here and u will have the answer...to help u without naming any clinic I’d say somewhere that the doctor does the whole job or the most of the work on his own

    hope that helps

I registered here to answer you. I had my HT in late June in Ankara. We were 3 guys at the same time of which one had a repair job after a horribly failed transplant in the "clinic" you mentioned. That story heard in detail (and seen it myself) I wouldn't recommend any clinics doing relatively cheap transplants, flat fees, etc. You get what you pay for. There is few exceptions IMHO.

Where did u do in Ankara mate if u don’t me asking ?

3rd day I meant healed not pain no discomfort not signs of surgery

It's advice we don't hear much because everyone here is directed at "hair restoration". But considering I never want to undergo surgery again given myself it might be the advice we all need to consider once and a while

@GoldRush might also want to look into non surgical approaches first as well. This guy had AMAZING results and spared himself the risks of this industry

    good luck

It’s the truth and if a doctor is ethical he shouldn’t do a hair transplant to you no matter what expectations u have u won’t be happy...

Thank you everyone for your suggestions.

With regards to my expectations, I totally  understand I will never have hair from my early 20s. My goal is to have a hairline and midscalp coverage at least to frame my face. I am fine with balding at the crown and perhaps depending on consultation I can get a 2nd stage in the future to fix that.

I did figure that FUT is the better option despite my reservations. It is the more conservative and wiser choice.  With regards to wearing my hair long vs. short. Do you think that my current hair length in the back would hide the scar? The other concern with FUT is that if I fail hair tx and decide to go bald all together than that scar will obviously show.

I have requested online consults with several of the doctors on my list. Rahal already told me I am not a good candidate as he worries my donor density is poor and that I will progress to NW 7. Disappointing but definitely appreciate the honesty.

I am going to try to get at least couple of in person consults.

Some questions I have for you all.

    1. Anyone know actual literature on propecia with regards to side effect profile?

    2. Any high norwood that have undergone a hair tx and not been on propecia?

    3. Any people out here who have had kids while on propecia.

    Appreciate everyones input.

If I was you I would forget hair transplant and I would carry on with my life it’s harsh but do yourself a favor and stay away from that especially when u are not in any medication

    • Thanks 1
  13. 18 days post op time goes fast but slow at the same time I just want my native hair to grow a bit more so I won’t look like I had a transplant which will take such a Weight off my shoulders

It all depends on the doctor.  Some want to be ultra-conservative and will allow for a few more days.  Generally, you can start walking within 3 days.  Easy cardio after 7 days. No restrictions after 14 days.

When it comes to weight lifting, particularly if you did FUT, is to avoid anything that will pull on your neck. This has a tendency to widen scars. Instead do push ups, leg presses, etc.

Thnk you laser cap I’m 16 days post op and I’m back on my routine feeling good already

That wasn't mentionned but looking at my hairline it's mostly 1 from what I can see, not sure if this even matter as long as looks good. The first lines are clearly singles

This being said I am a great responder to minox and take supplements which make hair shafts thicker. I had to stop minox for 2 weeks before the HT and my hair caliber overall definitely decreased at the end of the two weeks.

The supplements which make hair thicker in my experience are msm, biotin 10mg a day and chondroitin sulfate

How many mg of msm is the best you think? Also what else medication apart from finasteride would u recommend ? It seems u are in the game long time haha
