  1. I took Finasteride years ago and experienced side effects and stopped. That's why I'm hesitant to go back. But if it turns out that HT without Fin isn't that effective, I may not do the procedure. Has someone in here done HT and then NOT taken Fin?
  2. I know that Finasteride is for the hair AROUND the transplanted hair not to fall off, but what if you have already stopped balding?
  3. First of all, apologies if there are already other threads covering what I'm asking, I've tried to search it beforehand but haven't been lucky. If you can point me to a detailed FAQ or similar I'll be very grateful. While I've yet still to pick a date or a surgeon, I plan on doing the surgery soon and I wonder if there's some kind of steps that I should follow in order to best prepare. Some kind of medication, diet alteration, exercises, things to avoid... ? I'm looking forward to your advice and expertise. Also, is there anything inherently wrong in doing the operation in winter versus other season?
  4. I'm very curious about this, too. I'm planning on HT surgery but in the meantime Toppik has been a life saver, honestly. I'm interested in hearing more about this whole "increases the hair loss" thing as I wasn't aware of it. Is there something to back this up?
  5. Here's some photos. Just had a haircut a couple of days ago, so it's supershort on the sides.
  6. First of all, apologies for not posting a photo of my head right now, my phone's dead, but plan on doing it really soon. What I want to ask is a general question about the effectivity of hair transplant in cases where the problem is a general thinness of the hair. I know the procedure can work great when it comes to a receding hairline or a localized bald spot, but what about general thinness? I got hair all over my head, but it's so thin you can see the shape of my skull through it. I haven't been able to find testimonials about cases similar as mine.
  7. Thanks, I'm trying to find examples similar to mine that have the surgery done and I'm not lucky.
  8. My main issue is the thinness of the hair, quite similar to the one (not me) on the photo below. But my hair is darker and the contrast between the scalp and the hair is bigger.
  9. I'm decided on having HT surgery and based of everything I've read and my budget, Turkey is the way to go. But now, how do I pick a really good one surgeon/clinic? I'm avoiding the ones that are too cheap, but other than that I'm a bit lost. I've been reading forum testimonials for a long time and there are a few that get repeated and people seem happy with it, but I've also heard that there are a lot of fake/paid reviews and that worries me. How can I pick the good ones from the sketchy-but-good-at-marketing others? I know it's impossible to agree on a particular surgeon that's the best in the country, but is there some type of unanimity of, let's say "These 5 or 6 Turkish surgeons are highly valued and you'll be in good hand if you choose one of them" ? Really appreciate your help!
