Wow! Only 10 days out? Your density looks terrific! Looks like your healing is going quite well too. Have you noticed much shock loss since then? Looking forward to more photos too, especially if you can get closeups. Happy growing!

Looking good 1978Matt! Dr. Konior does some amazing work! Your strip scar looks very thin too, I take it he did a tricophytic closure on it? I’ve seen great results from Nadimi & Gabel as well!
Remembering your previous surgery, was the healing more painful having the strip vs the FUE? Curious, as I’m thinking of FUE myself assuming I’m a candidate largely due to the way my skin heals, it always tends to scar badly.
PS are you on any meds( Finasteride) to slow the loss at all? Or just the HT?
Thanks! Looking forward to more updates!

The strip is taken from the boney bit at the bottom of the skull (occipital hump I think it is called). I think you can stray a cm or two from this area (above and below) and would guess he picked the highest density part in this region. He told me the strip was an average 2.7cm wide.. I did do a couple of months scalp exercises in advance.
He did say my density was 80 at the back and 60 at the sides. What I lack in density I make up for in caliber.
Dr K recommends Nadimi and Gabel to people unwilling to accept his waiting list.

Terrific results Dr. Gabel!

These consults are done by a patient advisor, and are free, but does it cost to have a consult done with Dr. Hasson or Wong? How much? Can we apply it to our procedure if there is a cost? Thanks in advance!

Great to hear ainrofilac! Do you have any pics? I'd love to see them. The techs sound really nice there...did the operation hurt much? I've seen Dr. Gabel's work, he does very nice hairlines compared to some I've seen, very natural looking. Look forward to seeing how it turns out! Looking at FUE myself to fill in a very noticeable spot on the crown, but haven't decided who to go with yet...any suggestions for crown work?

Nicely done Dr. Wesley! Very impressive hairline, especially considering this fellow's previous condition. Was there much in the way of temporary shock loss? Thanks!

Good luck Harry! From what I've seen, most of the docs that are recommended on this site design natural looking hairlines that follows a similar line to the one's patients have had in their younger years. Who did you end up going with btw?
best,
Vince

I just did a consult with Rahal and he recommended PRP along with the HT
Below is what he said
PRP has healing qualities that will help post-transplant to reduce redness and speed up healing. PRP also contains a lot of growth factors that encourage the anagen (or growth) phase of hair to help with less shedding post-procedure and faster growth of the transplanted grafts.
Dr. Rahal will inject the PRP into your recipient area after he has created all the recipient sites and just before the new grafts are placed
That makes sense, PRP promotes healing and recovery time I am sure! If a surgeon of Rahal’s caliber is recommending it it must be useful! So the PRP is injected before grafts go in? That’s interesting! I had assumed it went in afterwards. To help healing.

Looks to be a great result so far! Dr. Konior is truly a one of the best in the business from what I have seen, and you’ll most assuredly have final results that are stellar! Looking forward to more photos!

Vinza,
Platelet rich plasma has been used as a standalone hair loss treatment however, it’s success appears to be marginal at best. PRP is often used as a storage solution for grafts during hair transplant surgery and seems to keep them pretty well hydrated during the procedure. Some hair surgeons even swear by it and believe it is a better storage solution than standard saline solution.
Personally however, I’ve never been overly impressed with any real results from PRP as a standalone hair loss treatment and personally wouldn’t waste my time or money getting it done. However, others may have a different opinion and I would be interested to hear what other members have to say… In particular, those who had it done.
Best wishes,
Bill
Good to know and keep under advisement for certain. I’ve heard it can help with repair and healing of the grafts, but wondered if it would help with slowing or stopping miniaturization of the hair by possibly increasing the blood flow to my scalp! I’m just not sure I’m ready to jump to a full blown transplant yet. Thanks Bill!

I wanted to find out more about PRP to see if goes well to promote healing after you surgery, or if that’s just a load of BS? I’ve heard it can help on it’s own too to put off more loss? I don’t want to spend the moeye if it doesn’t work that well. Thanks in advance.

Terrific results! Congratulations, you must be totally excited! Your hair looks great! Great work Dr Bloxham!

Wow! Amazing results Dr. Cooley! Do you think that the PRP helped to significantly improve the healing time and final outcome? Thank you for sharing those images!
-
Wow! @Speran28 After I heard you call into the radio show earlier this week I had to see for myself what happened. Glad Dr Cooley fixed it for you. So when you had to have electrolysis, those follicles are killed or extracted and reused somewhere else?

Great work Dr Arocha, I didn’t know you did SMP either. This patient’s results looked great! So this patient had no other option, due to the overharvesting.i

Such amazing work Dr Dorin! Does FUE cost more than strip? How long does it take?

Looking good BADB-BROS! Your hair is looking really good, and it isn’t even done filling in yet! Congratulations on taking the plunge! What’s your maintenance regimen? Finasteride? Curious as to what the donor area was like in case that the doc felt you might need future transplants?
