  1. Hi TTP.

They've not really commented much on my progress, tbh. I'm waiting for 12 months to see what the verdict is.

I know from your own experience that the density can continue to improve after 10 months, but I can't see it delivering the hairline I was hoping for at this stage.

  2. Hi Blake, and thanks for your comments.

I'm not going to make any knee jerk reactions, and will wait till 12 months before a final judgement.

At the moment, I am still seeing slow but steady thickening of the hair in the recipient area. However, even with a further 30% maturation, I'm not sure if I'll get a decent result at the front hairline. We shall see - I hope I'm proved wrong!

In the meantime, the support of you and everyone else in this community is much appreciated.

  3. Hi Bill. You must be delighted with your results, they are tremendous.

    A couple of questions:

    1. After #4 FUT HTs, does your scalp feel tight, or have there been any other side effects?

    2. You are continuing to take finasteride 1mg to slow further loss of native hair. Same as myself. But presumably, you are resigned to more native hair falling out. How will you deal with that, as and when it happens? FUE? Another FUT?!

Or have your FUTs been performed in such a way as to take that into account?

Best wishes, and well done again on a great result.

  4. Thanks for the encouragement TakingThePlunge. I'm still hoping that I am a 'late developer', but with each passing month of limited progress, I'm starting to feel that the end result will not be what I'd hoped for.

I've been taking finasteride for 12 years. It pretty much halted my hair loss for the first four, since then, I've been losing my hair steadily - but not as slowly as I think I would have.

I had about 2,000 grafts in the front third/half, and then 900 in the remainder, with most of those going into the crown.

  5. Bcruz1973 - thanks for your message.

The pimples aren't too bad now - 5.5 months - though I was hoping for more regrowth.

I tried Regaine once before, but didn't like it - found it seemed to stop working after about six months - and it made my beard and eyebrows very coarse.

Are you sure the regrowth your getting is due to Regaine - or is it the hairs coming through of their own accord? That's the sort of time you're supposed to see most regrowth.

  6. Hi Bcruz, thanks for the salt water tip - may try that as I'm still getting a lot of pimples after 3.5 months.

Yes - I did suffer from a lot of shock loss (50% I reckon). In the past two weeks, I've noticed a lot of new, fine hairs coming through. I don't know if that is the old hair coming back, or the transplanted hairs. I suspect a bit of both.

Generally feeling more positive now though, as my hair doesn't really look weird any more, and I think I'm seeing progress.

    Good luck with your healing.
