  1. Thanks, Dolph. I’ve tried fibres, but I found them really messy. For me, they don’t work at the hairline. My hair has definitely gotten thinner since I started using Regaine. That could be because of the Regaine. It could be because my hair is getting thinner. I haven’t stopped using it. At the moment, I’ve been using it for two months, and I think I’m going to give it six. I’m contemplating finasteride, but I’ve never had any luck with medication.
  2. My wife and I are currently trying for a child. I'm nearly 37. I have diffuse thinning. I have been on Regaine for just over two months, but so far it has only made my hair more brittle. I still have a decent amount of hair, but I don't want to lose anymore, and I would like to thicken up what I have. I have LOTS of whispy, brittle, light, terminal hairs. I would "like" to start finasteride, but I would only do so if it was safe in terms of conceiving a child. I will start as soon as my wife becomes pregnant, but these things can take time! In the meantime, is there any risk to my wife or the child? What kind of research should I do? Who can I ask about this?
  3. Ha! I'm trying. So does finestride improve hair quality and thickness?
  4. Hello, everyone. I'm looking for some advice. To be honest, I'm feeling quite desperate, so I really hope someone can help me. I'm 36 (I'll be 37 in May), and my hair has been thinning for a couple of years now. To the untrained eye, it probably looks like I have a full head of hair, but I have to wear it in a certain style (extreme side parting), and styling takes AGES. It takes me about an hour every day, and I still don't like it once it's done. I use thickening shampoos (Aveda, Aussie, Jamie Stevens, Nanogen) and various other products (Mane coloured thickening spray, Schwarzkopf got2b Powder, Kerastase density paste, Jamie Stevens hair spray). I HATE the whole process, but I feel anxious without these products. In fact, I won't leave home without my hair being "sorted" to my satisfaction. I realise this might sound pathetic, but that's the way I feel. I think if I got a shorter cut, the thinning would be noticeable. At the moment, the thinning is visible at each "parting", which are wider than they should be. Anyway, my hair strands seem to be getting thinner and whispier. I have lots of short, lighter hairs, which I assume are terminal. At the moment, I still have a decent amount of hair, so I am looking for a way to thicken my existing strands. If possible, I would love to improve the density. I've been trying Regaine for two months, but there has been no visible thickening, and my hair feels increasingly brittle. I would like to try finestride, but my wife and I are trying for children. Should I try PRP? Is there anything else I could be doing or trying? Anything? I would consider a transplant to improve my hairline, but I'm concerned that the hair behind is on the way out (albeit slowly), so I wouldn't want to get any work done until my loss is stabilised.
  5. Has anyone tried PRP? If so, did it work? Did you see a noticeable improvement? I'm a 36-year-old male from Scotland. It might look like I have a full head of hair to the untrained eye, but I have diffuse thinning (my partings are wider than they should be), and I have quite a few (lots of?) minaturised hairs at the hairline. I visited some clinics a few months ago, and they said they wouldn't recommend a transplant. I've been using Regaine for six weeks, but so far all it has done is make my hair brittle. I would try Finasteride, but my wife and I are planning a family. Subsequently, I am looking into PRP.

  7. Update: At the moment, they only deliver to cities in America.
  8. I have just stumbled across a website called "hims". The site sells finastride, DHT shampoo, minoxidil, and vitamins. All these items are sold individually, and in packs. I'm not affiliated with the site (I think it is based in America!). I just thought that some of you might be interested, given that the prices are reasonable. Has anyone seen this site? Anybody used DHT shampoos?
  9. Over the last week or so, I've read a few articles about a "new discovery". The articles claim that South Korean scientists have discovered a new protein (CXXC5) that has promoted hair growth in mice. Has anyone read about this? I'm assuming this isn't anything to get excited about, but I live in hope!
  10. Has anyone heard about Harklinikken? I would provide a link to their website, but my understanding is that external links aren't allowed. I'd be interested to know what everyone thinks.
  11. Hello, I'm sure this has been discussed on the forum before, but I thought it was worth asking again. Has anyone had success or good results with Regaine / Rogaine? What do most people think about it? I'm a diffuse thinner, so I'm thinking about trying it.
  12. Hello there, everyone. I might be starting Minoxidil in the near future, and I am wondering how to apply it to my hair. At the moment, I try to cover my thinning by styling my hair in a certain way. It is sort of like David Beckham's, but my hair is combed to the side and not quite as long. All of my natural partings are wider than they should be - and they are getting wider. I realise that guys with a bald patch will apply minoxidil to that patch. Is there a specific way I should do mine? Any tips? Do I focus on the scalp / roots? Any advice would be appreciated.
  13. Thanks for the clarification, Edsarn2017! That makes sense.
  14. Good luck with the Due. Do you know if many people have had regrowth with it?
  15. Gasthoerer, Glad to hear that fin worked for you! The cynical side of me says that we will never see a cure or a 100% effective treatment with no side effects, but the optimistic side can't help but hope for one.
  16. Sorry to hear that, DJlazerblue. Thanks for the reply!
  17. JeanLucBergman, I'm not actually considering a HT at this time. I just want to get some advice on the best course of action for my current degree of loss, and ask questions about finestride and minoxidil. Does anyone know where Dr Reddy is based? Is he based at Restore or The Private Clinic?
  18. Thanks for the advice, Hairsgone and Djlazerblue. I'm currently looking into finestride, but I have two concerns: 1) Shedding 2) ED and sperm-related side effects, since my wife and I are looking to have a kid in the near future.
  19. Cheers, Matt. Are there any HT surgeons who specialise in transplants with diffuse hairloss?
  20. Cheers, Mikey. I'm planning to consult with some hair loss doctors in the near future. When I go to see them, I will ask them to check my donor area for minaturisation. Without uploading a picture, the best way I can describe my hair is that any partings - well, places where the hair parts naturally - are wider than they used to be. I comb and style my hair to disguise this, but it's got to the point where I can't really do that effectively. Thanks again, CK
  21. Hello, everyone. I have been trying to learn about hair transplants. I don't need one just now (I'm 36), but I might in the future, so I want to be informed. However, the more I read, the more it seems as though my type of hair loss - diffuse thinning - isn't ideal for a hair transplant. I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong, but it seems to me that, when it comes to hair transplants, it is better to have one weak area (a bald patch, a thin spot), so you can get that filled in. Then, your natural hair - which is still thick and dense - complements the area you have had done. I realise that there are lots of other factors that come into play: donor area, hair thickness, desired result, amount of coverage needed. So, I guess my question is this: are transplants a complete no-no when it comes to diffuse thinning?
