They might do it for some exception potentially. I am 2 months post op 2.4k fue with dr. rahal and I’ll post my results in a couple of months. They estimate I have another 5-6k to extract from, knowing this, fue was a better choice for me as I am also tolerating fin well.

That's great and congratulations on the operation. Please share reviews with us in the forum as I can't find many recent reviews for Dr Rahal.

Also, if he estimates 8k grafts to be transplanted from your donor via FUE in total then you must have an exceptional donor?

I would lean towards Dr Hasson or Dr Bloxham (Feller).

Dr. Diep has too many ethical issues right now

    Dr. Hasson is world class

Dr. Rahal hasnt posted many patient reviews in a long long time

Dr. Feller (Bloxham) I think is a great choice. They have some really good recent/solid results and he's very engaged

Dr. Gabel has a great reputation

    Thank you for your response.

I'm a bit concerned with the lack of patients with Dr Rahal lately as I admired his hairline work.

UKlad81 has a very good result that is still maturing, so I would expect to see the more seasoned members of this forum remember the basics of hair transplant timelines. He's at 8 months so there is more development to be expected.

Some points about UKlad81's case should also be remembered. His hair is not only very dark with a high contrast to his fair scalp, his hair overall is quite fine. His existing forelock was also still very prominent so the procedure had to not only cover a nearly shiny bald NW5A area (we did not go far into his crown) but the density had to blend with the forelock which already had a high density. I'll also remind people that when you wish to compare result to keep the hair style in mind (as well as other factors) and in this case, where UKlad81's case was compared to another with similar loss, the hair coarseness difference, which is significant (and confirmed by the clinic consultant on their respective thread), was not included in the consideration, nor was the style. UKlad81's hair is brushed back while a comparison shared was brushed forward. This makes a very significant difference in perceived density and actual coverage and will vary widely from patient to patient.

At this point, Dr. Cooley is pleased with UKlad81's progress and there is nothing to indicate that there is anything wrong with the result thus far.

I strongly disagree with you. This is "not" a good result for the amount of grafts transplanted given that the patient's hair quality is quiet good to begin with.

I'd suggest you address the problem rather than irrationally defend it. This behavior won't do Dr Cooley any favors.

    Regards.

  4. Hey guys,

Considering a FUT as I want to maximize my donor capacity for possible future transplants before I look into FUE. I'm in my early 30's and I am NW3.

I gather that most members in the forums have lots of experience regarding transplants

Who'd you recommend as a good FUT surgeon with consistently great results? so far I've gathered the following list:

    • Dr Diep;
    • Dr Hasson;
    • Dr Rahal;
    • Dr Feller;
    • Dr Gabel.

Would you add any one to the list?

What's your experiences with any of the aforementioned Dr's?

Do you still believe that FUT is superior to FUE in terms of donor management, yield and hair growth?

    Thanks

  5. Why don't you guys think of rebuilding the hairline/midscalp via hair transplant with a good density/coverage, and if the crown starts going and there isn't enough donor to cover it then may be wear a synthetic hair piece for the crown only that matches the hair texture/colour?

I mean that way you won't worry about the hairline looking fake if you have a hairpiece on it?

What's your thoughts on that guys

  6. Hi,

Can you guys please list the top/best FUT doctors around the world based on the quality of their work, ethics, natural looking results invisible scare and cost.

I think FUT is still the safer way to go from what I've been seeing/reading in terms of success rate and graft survival rate as hair transplants are risky procedures and the last thing you want is cutting a chunk of your scalp, waste thousands of good healthy donor hair just to end up with a low yield failed expensive procedure!

So if you can list the top FUT surgeons then it will make it easier for us to start shortlisting.
  7. Now that's what i call a fantastic hairline design, and a fantastic yield in general!! looks VERY aesthetic and natural enough to me!! i would love for my hair line to look like that!! i have definitely been considering Dr. Maras and HDC, and i have been in contact with one of their reps lately( (leonard).

I do have a few questions that i would like to get some answers for from you Alex please:

1- Did this patient take finasteride?

2- Does he have any concealers in his after pictures? because it looks like he may have had some concealers on.

3- Did Dr. Maras perform 100% of the surgery? (Extractions, incisions, slits and implantations?)

4- Can you post more picture of the results of the patient's hair from the top, back and sides as well?

    Kind regards,

    Fito

  8. Posts like these are a reason people should do their research . The information above is ridiculous. The hair line is not too high it's age appropriate. This is a huge improvement. This is a case of a doctor that cares for the long term outlook of a patient and it is a great result. Lowering the hairline too much is the absolute worst thing that can be done for someone with aggressive hair loss. Temples are the absolute last thing to be addressed in a high norwood. This is a good transplant. Poor advise. Transplants are supply and demand nothing else. If you have the donor you may be able to have a good procedure. Great result .

I agree that the hair line is definitely not too high. But, the temples look bad in my opinion. They really look like they do need another HT. And No, a 31 years old temples should NOT be empty. So, its not age appropriate.

However, the middle of the hairline looks good.

  9. Looks fantastic!!! Congratulations and enjoy your new hairline :)))

I have a few questions if you don't mind me:

    1- Are you on Propecia?

2- Did Saifi use a Manual FUE technique?

3- Did Saifi perform the whole op on you? (extractions, incisions, slits and implantations?)

4- How much did it cost for 1600 grafts?

5- Do you have a hair break down per graft that you may share with us? :)

    Thanks

  10. I have averaged 30 per sgower every day for 20 years, and I still have a pretty good head of hair. I wear product so I dont get a lit of fall during the day, but I imagine I lose 70 a day or so, abd up to a hundred is normal for a full head of hair..It's not about what falls, its about what grows back.

I imaging a nw6 doesnt lose much because they have so much less to lose. Put some product on your gead and dont mess with it all day. Then at night comb all of your hair forward for a couple minutes leaning over a white sink. You'll see that much hair fall is normal.

Thats exactly what happens to me everyday!!! but i am 28 and NW3, so is that normal or should i start worrying??

Also, i dont know whether to take the OP seriously or not, most people here they only shed 14 hairs per shower!!!!

  11. Finasteride definitely had a great deal to do with the result, my hair is more course since taking finasteride. I'm well aware of the sides, I've not experienced any so far though.

I hope you never experience any of its horrible side effects!! And you're results look fabulous!

The problem is i am very scared to take finasteride as it is impossible to know whether it will give side effects or not beforehand :(

  12. Some updates from about a month ago, totally forgot to upload these, sorry guys.

Looking fabulous dude, congratulations on the fantastic new hairline!! Enjoy your results :)

However, i am a bit confused as to decide whether these results were due to a good hair transplant or due to Propecia. I mean obviously the results are due to a combination of both, but, would you have still gotten the same result if you did not take propecia??

Also, i hope you do realise the dangerous side effects of propecia :)

Nontheless, your hairline looks natural and great!

  13. When/if I ever need a 2nd procedure, I'd be inclined to go to Erdogan for FUE - but only if I could be in more control of the graft count and the payment situation.

May sound dumb to challenge a doctors graft recommendation, but umm.... Not if its Erdogan and you've studied up on this forum long enough.

    ----

For FUT, I'd go back to Rahal as he took care of me very well from a results standpoint

What would be your next choice after Erdogan?

  14. Agreed, and that was Zim's concern as well: Dr Erdogan (first choice but not at the cost of half my donor)

Agreed!! and it's so annoying how he seems to be consistent at doing this!!

I have around 1,500 lifetime donor FUE grafts left, and they quoted me at 2,000 and seemed didn't want to budge in follow-up emails, though they did say it would be based on in person inspection.

I personally believe their graft quoting method is built into their pricing system, because across the board for all patients they quote much higher graft counts than other clinics. They offer a "lower" rate of 2.5 euros but make it up with higher graft counts.

Do like their work and Dr. Erdogan is a leading pioneer in FUE, so there are pros and cons.

What does it benefit me as a patient if my surgeon is a pioneer at what he do, but he has no interest in me and my future, and all he cares about is staking on piles of money??!!

The problem is, he seems to overestimate the graft numbers on purpose!! Because i asked him TWICE to go for a more conservative approach rather than butcher my donor area at the age of 28, and i got ZERO replies for 2 weeks now!! While it only took him 2 days to quote me 4000-5000 grafts!!!!

That's ethics out of the window right there, and he SHOULD be called out for it to stop this behaviour!!

  15. Dr. Erdogan gives ridiculous quotes for graft numbers, though. I'm 28 and barely NW3 and he quoted me 4000-5000 grafts!!! and when I asked him to be more conservative I didn't even get a reply back!! I really don't understand how is high very highly rated here?!?!

What's more ridiculous is Erdogan and his Clinic ASMED seem to be consistent with their ridiculously overestimating of graft number for lots of patients, and there's still not many people on this forum calling him out for it, especially the moderators!!

I remember one of the moderators commented before on the reason why some surgeons are not recommended by the forum, and one of the reasons to that is that they overestimate on their graft numbers!! while Erdogan seems to do it consistently!!!

They guy wants to literally transplant 80% of my donor area while I'm still 28 and NW3 only!! with an absolute disregard for my future!!! How is that even ethical in the slightest??!!! And why would I care if he's work is amazing if he is going to make me look good for 5-10 years then later on when I start losing more hair I'll be left with a severely weakened and depleted donor area???

And imagine if he gave me a bad hair transplant with 5000 grafts!! which can happen to any surgeon in the world, and I'm sure he is not immune to that possibility!! Then what will i do from then??? I don't even think he even has a refunding policy!!! So basically he butchers people's donor area with an absolute disregard for their future, age and situation, hence, his cheap prices!!! Again, how is that even ethical??? And how is he not getting called out for it on this forum yet??!!!!!

  16. Based on this list and also sanity checking and researching all possible "decent" FUE surgeons for my last procedure ever, it seems both in Turkey and on the European forums like Bellicapelli that for Turkey the most recommended clinics are ASMED (Dr. Erdogan) [2.5 euros], Dr. Keser [3.5 euros], and Dr. Ozgur (Hairline Clinic) [2.7-3 euros]. Some in Turkey and elsewhere rank Dr. Keser ahead of Dr. Erdogan due to the fact he does all the work himself and only does 500-700 grafts per day.

It seems that Dr. Keser is very selective in choosing patients however, and might reject higher NWs who've had previous surgeries, one guy from this forum HARIRI mentioned that as well. If you're a younger lower NW he seems to be eager to work on you. Also correspondence might take some time.

Regarding Dr. Ozgur I couldn't get a real feeling for him or find a large number of results, but his clinic Hairline Clinic has a "Premium" ranking on Bellicapelli <http://bellicapelliforum.com/en/>

The Belgium doctors including most recently Dr. Lupanzula we all know well about already.

Dr. Erdogan gives ridiculous quotes for graft numbers though. Im 28 and barely NW3 and he quoted me 4000-5000 grafts!!! and when i asked him to be more conservative i didn't even get a reply back!! i really don't understand how is high very highly rated here?!?!
