  1. that's a high density of grafts going in to that place; I'm sure you'll get great coverage.
  2. I'm not sure if my level of hair loss would be appropriate for FUE though? I'm probably a NW5 going on NW6.
  3. because it's too expensive to give the hair amount I need also can I not just get the scar partly filled in with grafts w/ FUE if I have that procedure in the future to tidy up the rest?
  4. hey buddy; well I plan to take biotin once I'm done just to speed up the growth, but will probably steer clear of the proper meds. I was on for Rogaine for a year and even though it worked really well! (i got loads of growth in my hairline and crown) I stopped because of palpitations and then I don't want to go on finasteride so yeah I'm ready for several procedures; hopefully a mega FUT session of 4500-5000 and then 1 or 2 FUEs will be enough; only problem is that of course you have to shave your head fully for the FUE and then you will see the ugly ass scar I will no doubt have from the FUT so it is hardly like I can go unnoticed.
  5. wow; your results look great! who did you go with and how may grafts did you get for the front? I'm guessing from 1500-2000 would do it? but maybe someone else could be a bit more accurate.
  6. Thanks for your feedback Bill, yeah I haven't tried it yet and have always been really wary of trying; I'd prefer alright hair without propecia than amazing hair with propecia as oddly as it sounds just because I don't want to have to rely on it just in case i stop taking it one day and everything falls out. I also factored that in; that I will need multiple sessions. My plan was to do a mega session with H&W for roughly 4500-5000, then return in about 2-3years time to tidy up the rest with either FUE or potentially FUT depending on how it is all looking at the time. I also realise I may need further touch ups in the future but hopefully they can be small FUE procedures. This is going to be the big one anyways. Also it's interesting that your hair loss pattern looks quite similar to mine Bill.
  7. Thanks for the feedback! I really wish there was a gallery of patients who haven't taken finasteride and had HT so I could see the results.
  8. So; I have shaved my head already; and I don't like the look; so I'm definitely going ahead w/ the transplant; I look better than I thought I would but it still doesn't suit me; I have generally quite a baby looking face so look a bit like a big baby with a shaved head haha. At least I tried it I guess
  9. So; I'm most likely getting a HT in around 5 months time. Been quoted between 4500-5000; and FUT with H&W (good choice?) Firstly here are some photos which show the dramatic speed in which I lost my hair (most over one year it appears! (from 2012-2013, then for the past 3 years it has slowed down a bit) - the lighting and the fact that I have short hair in the 2016 photo make it seem worse than it is; my hair was pretty bad in 2016! trust me. I would say my lost is actually worse in my crown than in the front (over the past 4 years or so) but my plan is to get the front rebuilt and work backwards from there; do I look like a good candidate for FUT? I admit my hair is quite fine!; but at the back and sides it is certainly thicker at least (so hopefully the donor site has good thickness) I still haven't decided to take any form of DHT blocker. Is there anyone who has a HT who doesn't take finasteride or an equivalent? it seems everyone is on it. My reasons for not taking it so far are as follows: 1. The side effect risk! I know this is rare; but I don't want to lose my libido for the rest of my life. Baldness drug Propecia 'risking men's sexual health' - BBC Newsbeat 2. If I take it; I have to take it for the rest of my life otherwise all my native hair will fall out; that is quite some medication dedication! I was wondering what everyones plan was who is currently on it? Will they just take it until they are happy to be bald? or when do they decide to stop? I don't want to be dependent on a drug. 3. I'd personally prefer just to have a HT now; take no meds, then save up for another one in about 3 years time or so to cover the rest of the areas which I have a problem with (thicken up the front maybe some more and work on the crown) then leave it at that; rather than take finasteride, give me false believe that I have lots of hair, then one day stop and lose a ton of it. I actually was one of the few who had really good results with minoxidil in the past but stopped due to palpitations; it definitely kept my hair going strong and my major hair loss started as soon as I stopped it (from 2012 onwards) random question but: my grandad on my mothers side had a good head of hair, my dad doesn't but still retains some hair on top; hopefully I'll just go that way? is there anyway of knowing which Norwood you will end up at? I'd appreciate others input thank you
  10. Wow; great result! I'm off to H&W too in about 5 months; are you on any anti-DHT treatment (finasteride.etc)? If so were you on it before too or just since your procedure and how are you doing with the sides? (have you got any sides on it?) Your hair is quite similar to mine; thin on top and at the front but relatively thick at the sides and back. Great job anyways
  11. So I have scheduled a FUT with H&W (a bit nervous now after seeing Dutchies, n00b, and BaldPatient2 results!) And before deciding this I decided to shave my head to make sure I wouldn't have just been happy with a shaved head. Needless to say; I look like a thug with a shaved head, so will definitely go ahead with my HT. Back to the subject at head I have had an itchy scalp for about as long as my hair has been falling out (I don't believe this is the cause of my hair loss as it is in the MBP pattern). I assumed it was seborrhoeic dermatitis or dandruff and use several different shampoos to control this itch (rotate between salicylic acid and ketoconzole shampoos and have been for the past 5 years or so). This helps stop the itch for the day I washed my hair and a bit of the day after that; however having my hair really short I can now see the inflammation or whatever it is. Any of the hair transplant docs able to have a look? I know I could just go to the family doctor but I assumed the hair transplant docs would know better. Thank you so much in advance (I'm worried that the condition may affect the transplant)
  12. Thanks David; I actually met you before you moved on from H&W. Yes; I know it will be a stressful time but it is literally the only time I can ever get the procedure done for at least several years. As mentioned I believe I will just go ahead and then deal with the embarrassment at work. Going to try shaving my head first to see what it looks like; then go from there.
  13. Thanks Spex. I'm thinking it may be better just to start shaving my head from now on; as you are all right, i will have to shave most of my head for the procedure. The plan is 4500-5000 grafts working from the hairline to the crown (with the majority focused on building the density in the hairline.
  14. Thanks for your replies! This is basically the decider right now for me; The week I am due to start is an induction for a new job; so that's why it's impossible for me to get it off (even unpaid or even to move it). It will also be the time I am meeting a lot of new colleagues; therefore I'd prefer them not to see me with the HT However; there will be no time in the next years where I will be able to get 2 weeks+ off so that's why this one week period is the only time I can really get off. Due to the working environment it's impossible to wear a hat. I guess I'll have to have a big think about whether I can go through with it now. If 2 weeks is do-able then I'll consider just facing the embarrassment of it all.
  15. Dear all; Been suffering with hair loss for around 8 years now. I've decided I finally want to do something about it. Have finally decided I will go ahead and get a hair transplant next year with Hasson & Wong (I did my research for some time and they seemed like the best bet for FUT). However I have one issue. I can only take one week in total off work; this is also not going to change for the next couple years (yeah I know it sucks majorly) I would therefore have the surgery on the Monday; but then I would have to return to work the following Monday. I am not allowed to wear hats in my line of work; also my work would not be cool/understanding with me demanding to wear a hat or something for the first couple days back. I also don't have long hair or anything like that so couldn't cover it up with my haircut. Any suggestions? Thank you
