  1. Firstly, he said Dr. Arika did all the incisions. Secondly, at the time, the Exclusive Package stated "Planning, designing and 100% slits will be done by Dr. Arika Bansal. 100% implantation of grafts will be done by our expertly trained and experienced senior technicians"
  2. I have just made a booking with Eugenix and paid my deposit yesterday. I scoured the internet high and low for reviews, deliberately looking for bad reviews. I couldn't find one example of a botched procedure, the only negative comments I could find were of some disgruntled former employees, a couple of whom even conceded that the quality of work at Eugenix was high, despite whatever their personal grievances were.
  3. It is my understanding that the e-Visa for India is not available to UK passport holders, you instead have the pleasure of applying the old fashioned way through the Indian embassy.
  4. Hi all, I believe there was a similar thread posted last year, however I think with the emergence of Omicron and the endlessly changing situation, 2022 warrants a fresh thread. I've recently been in contact with Eugenix who have accepted my case and I am currently trying to work out a date to make my booking. However, I have been closely monitoring the Indian Ministry of Health website https://www.mohfw.gov.in/ where they have been updating their travel advice on a roughly monthly basis. Until a few days ago, all travellers from countries not deemed 'high risk' were able to submit a pre-departure Covid-19 test and fly to India, with no restrictions after leaving the airport. Travellers from countries deemed 'high risk' were subject to post-arrival Covid testing in the airport and a seven day home quarantine, followed by a second Covid test on the eighth day in India. On 7 January 2022, new guidelines were released by the Ministry of Health, coming into effect on the 11 January 2022. The main change being that now travellers from all countries will be required to complete a seven day home quarantine upon arrival in India, regardless of vaccination status or the return of a negative test upon arrival. It would be great if people could share their recent experiences of travelling to India, particularly since the new regulations came into effect. For those required to complete a post-arrival Covid test in the airport, how long did this take? Were there any issues providing a hotel's name/address as your destination for home quarantine? Were you able to leave the airport on your own, freely, to find your way to your hotel? As most of us are/will be on e-Medical visas, were you able to leave your hotel within the first seven days to complete your hair surgery?
  5. This is really great work, the kind that can give hope to someone who is not an ideal HT candidate.
  6. The comparable level of pain, in my opinion, is pinching your scalp with the tips of your thumb and index finger nails. It's really not that bad. Make sure you ask your clinic if they provide any form of sedation or anti-anxiety meds. When I had my first HT with Dr. Bhatti, I was given sleeping pills for a couple of nights and some form of anti-anxiety medication for the procedure (Xanax or something similar, I can't remember). I had never taken any such medicine before and I recall being genuinely surprised at my lack of nerves prior to and during the procedure. The pain was like a few prickles, then it was nothing. I actually dozed off a few times during the procedure.
  7. His result looks great. Excellent, natural graft placement, no straight lines evident! These are the kind of results I'm seeking, attributed to the doctor. For me personally, I'm looking forward to seeing how their senior doctors tackle 5,000 graft sessions, as this is what will really put their slit-making to the test for coverage, the particular part of the procedure that was previously done by Dr. Arika for the Exclusive package.
  8. Thanks for the responses so far, guys. This thread certainly isn't meant to incite any criticism towards Eugenix, it is totally their prerogative as to how they define their packages and distribute their doctors' expertise. I currently am clean-shaven for work and keep my hair quite short. I'll be growing it out a bit, along with my beard, over the Christmas holidays to take photos for sending to clinics and will ask Eugenix directly for info on their doctors. The Rs. 120 price-point is the one with which I am comfortable and I am sure the same goes for many others. Moving forward, this means many more of the patient results we see from Eugenix will be coming from their senior doctors, other than Dr. Arika and Dr. Sethi. I have no problem entrusting my scalp to a doctor trained by Dr. Arika or Dr. Sethi, provided I can see patient results from those doctors in particular. (I'm aware this will be provided on request when in contact with the clinic, but would be great to see a few here on the forum, for those of us doing the months of background research before making actual contact)
  9. Just to be clear, Eugenix do differentiate in their pricing schedule between "Eugenix trained doctors" for the 'Comprehensive' (Rs. 75) package and "Senior Eugenix trained doctors" for the 'Exclusive' (Rs. 120) package. I'm sure their senior doctors are far from being inexperienced. However, they are unknown to me. It would certainly set my mind at ease to see a portfolio of results attributed to the doctors who will, from now, be performing the 'Exclusive package' surgery. I assume there will be others with the same question in mind, given the Rs. 120 price-point is likely what attracts many to India, especially those of us requiring a higher number of grafts.
  10. Hi all, I am currently researching clinics for my second hair transplant (for which I will start a thread in due course). However, Eugenix is already at the top of my list, due to their excellent results with higher Norwood levels. I have been reading reviews of their work and browsing their website for a couple of months now. A few days ago, they updated their website with a new price list and I notice, to my dismay, Dr. Arika no longer has any involvement in the Rs. 120 per graft 'Exclusive' package. It appears to now be conducted entirely by 'Senior Eugenix trained doctors' and techs. Which brings me to my titular question, who are the other (senior) doctors at Eugenix? Does anyone here have experience with them? Could Eugenix perhaps post a thread in the forum introducing us to them, with some examples of their work? I haven't yet made contact with Eugenix personally, my country is still a few months from restarting international travel and I'm waiting for it to actually happen before I start reaching out to clinics.
  11. Background I am a 29 year old white male. The first signs of hair loss occurred in my late teens with weakening of my temples and slight hairline recession, with frontal hairline recession continuing slowly into my early 20s. During my mid 20s my crown also began weakening, with rapid hair loss from 26 - 28 years of age. I have never used any form of hair loss treatment to combat my hair loss, for a long time convincing myself that it 'wasn't that bad' or that it wouldn't continue to worsen. Boy was I wrong! Pre-Op After becoming increasingly displeased with my appearance in photographs, I finally decided to see what I could do about my lack of hair. I had been occasionally researching hair transplants for a couple of years online and after ramping up my efforts, came down to a choice between Dr. Path, Dr. Bhatti and Dr. Erdogan. I was initially very keen on Dr. Path, due to the fact I spend a lot of time in Bangkok, however after many hours trawling through results and experiences on this site, Dr. Bhatti emerged as the man-to-see for those considering FUE. I made contact with Dr. Bhatti and true to the word of all others who have reviewed him, he made very prompt contact in reply! However his initial assessment of my photographs was that I am a poor candidate for a hair transplant due to my sparse donor density, low crown area and major evolving hair loss pattern. This only increased my confidence in him as a surgeon, as he was clearly not trying to 'sell' me something and I urged him to see what he could do for me in at least recreating something of a hairline. So we proceeded to set a date for July and I set about making my travel arrangements. I do wish to stress again that Dr. Bhatti did, from the outset, assess me as being a poor candidate for HT and I am certainly not expecting a head of hair as I had when I was 15 or 16, but for me, any result will certainly be preferred to what I had prior to the procedure. The Procedure After arriving at Darling Buds Clinic for my pre-op consultation, the day before the procedure and after examining my beard and chest as well as my scalp, Dr. Bhatti estimated he would be able to extract approximately 3,000 grafts. He drew a few hairlines on my forehead and we agreed to a reasonably straight hairline with a little filling in of the temples. I was given a few pills to take and a blood test, then dropped back at my hotel. I was picked up the next morning just before 7, taken to the clinic and prepared by Dr. Bhatti's technicians, as well as having blood taken for PRP. I was taken into the operating room shortly after 8.30am, where Dr. Bhatti proceeded to anaesthetise my donor area and give the hair a final scissor trim, before beginning the extraction. The extraction took three or four hours, I couldn't feel much of it and drifted off to sleep a few times. After this time I had 1948 scalp grafts and 497 beard grafts extracted. After this was completed, I was laid on my back, the recipient area was anaesthetised and Dr. Bhatti proceeded with the slit making, after which implantation commenced. After about 45 minutes of implantation, our food had arrived so we took a short break for lunch and a trip to the toilet. After returning to the operating room, implantation continued, fresh dressing was applied to my donor area and I was given my care instructions for that night. I returned the next morning and the procedure was completed with a further 429 chest hair grafts. The final breakdown was: Scalp 1948 (815 singles, 772 doubles, 361 triples) Beard 497 (All singles) Chest 429 (All singles) Post-Op I was very careful with my head following the procedure, wanting to give myself the best chance of a good result, given my initial poor candidacy. I stayed in my room for most of the following few days, keeping my head back and ensuring nothing came into contact with the recipient area, other than when performing my prescribed post-operative cleaning. I had absolutely no bleeding, not even during the procedure. The only blood was a few dots on the dressing of the donor area. I had no swelling in my face, on the second day post-op I had some minor swelling in my forehead which I attribute to looking down at my phone a little too often. I did have some discomfort in my stomach from the medication, however this quickly subsided after completing the course of antibiotics. I had little-to-no itching in my recipient area and for those times I did feel the need to scratch, I would just give it a spray with saline, which did the trick. On the fifth day post-op, I had some minor pain in my donor area which made sleeping difficult, however after taking 2 tablets of Paracetamol the pain disappeared and I have felt almost no discomfort since that day. Photographs Earlier in my 20s: Photographs sent to Dr. Bhatti, a few weeks prior to the procedure: 7 Days Post-Op: Review While it is certainly far too soon to assess the results, my opinion of Dr. Bhatti and Darling Buds clinic is very positive. Dr. Bhatti is without a doubt a very skilled surgeon, clearly very experienced and performs his procedure with efficiency and confidence. I think the fact he was able to make, between the extraction and implantation, over 5,000 incisions into my scalp without any noticeable bleeding or pain speaks to his skill as a surgeon. His technicians are exceptionally well trained, hygienic and everyone speaks surperb English. You are cared for well in the clinic and are never left thirsty nor hungry. Post-operative care instructions are comprehensive and are repeated to you several times by his technicians, you are not left with many questions needing asked! I stayed in Chandigarh for four days following the procedure and popped in each day, they were more than happy to give my head a professional clean each day and check my progress. At this stage I appear to be healing very quickly, have no pain at all and am certainly a happy customer! Time will tell if my hair is good enough to provide me with a result. I have begun Minoxidil on my crown area to see what I can do to improve the miniaturised hairs that still cover it and will begin Minoxidil on the recipient area after the second week.
