  1. Thank you all for your help & support :)

I am really impressed with this forum. It looks very ethical and professional.

As you suggested, I will give a chance for medicines before embarking into HT surgeries.

It's really confusing and not an easy decision to make especially when every surgeon provide you a different treatment plan with no clear explanation or logical answer (fish market).

Do you have any recommendation for an ethical Doc in the Middle East region?

  2. I would agree with Spex. With your level of loss 6000 grafts is going to take out most/all of your donor with FUE if the meds don't work for you then you are going to loose a lot more hair in the future. If you are set on going ahead then at least give the meds a bit of time so you know you can tolerate them and don't get side effects.

I would also be cautious about the hairline design that your Doctor proposed if you don't tolerate meds and keep the hair in the mid scalp and crown and you are relying on just the transplanted hair it is going to be very thin in years to come. A hairline like that might be ok once you know the meds are working but as a starting point I don't think it is a good idea.

If you move the hairline up to similar to where it is now you can get more coverage/density in these areas and have something that looks appropriate should you loose your native hair. You ask about natural in 15 years which is why I make my comments a low full hairline with a very thin crown is not something that you see in nature.

    Hi Spex & David,

Actually, i have started using Proscar (1.25 Mg) for the last 3 weeks and so far i didn't notice any sides but i think it's too early to judge.

I will wait till the 4 months mark and see if it works.

I agree with you that 6000 grafts is a lot to be used at this stage specially that my native hairs are very thin.

When i discussed this point with the doctor, he suggested the use of Finasteride as a continuous treatment to delay my hair loss as much as possible.

Also, i didn't get a clear response from him regarding the natural look in the long term and that's why i am seeking your advice.

What do you think if i just restored a conservative hairline with 2000 grafts and waited till loosing the remaining hairs to go for a 2nd surgery?

Which method is best to go for FUT or FUE taking into consideration that i usually wear my hair short (Clip# 3) as shown in the pics?

  3. In my opinion and if not already I strongly consider medical therapy to help stabilise your situation initially. Get you loss under control as hair loss is progressive. Create a solid platform/ foundation to work upon via HT. Then after 12 months reassess your situation prior to embarking on any HT.

    Regards

    Spex

  4. 6,000 should give you a really good result in the right doctor's hands as long as you keep your expectations in check. It won't be your 16 year old hair density but should hopefully turn out pretty good and something you'll be happy with. Best advice is to chose your doctor very wisely!!!! It all comes down to how good your doctor and his/her team and their practice is.

    Modern hair,

    Thanks for your advice.

That's what exactly my doctor suggested but still i am very cautious about future hair loss and unnatural look in the long term.

Also as you know, donor hair is usually limited and i am not sure if a 2nd surgery would be possible especially that my hair loss is progressive.

  5. Gents,

I need your help and support to decide on a suitable treatment plan for my current hair loss issue.

My local surgeon suggested a 6000 FUE grafts in 2 days consecutive sessions + Finasteride .

Do you think HT surgery is a good option in my case?

Is natural look result guaranteed after 15 years from surgery?

Any recommended doctors for advanced NW scales in the Middle East?

Appreciate your valuable feedback and suggestions :)
