  1. I had consultations with Dr. Alexander, Dr Shelly Friedman and Dr. Keene. All three of them are well reputed in the desert. I chose Dr. Keene as she does the 2 day surgery and got 4100 drafts. Both Dr. Alexander and Dr. Friedman prefer smaller surgeries and hence my choice to go with Dr. Keene. Being a Norwood 6/7, needed the larger session...
  2. this is progress at 5 months - as mentioned cautiously optimistic on progress... took a few cell phone pictures under various lights...
  3. I am in my mid to late 30's, from India and now living in AZ, USA. Have been losing hair for about 15 years now. It has progressed to Norwood VI and fast approaching VII. I have been using hair concealers for 10 years now and have masked my balding by doing so. I am tired of having toppik all over my bath and bed and would like to cut it down to the crown only and not in front. I still have a thin covering of hair in my hairline due to a small FUT procedure in India in 2006. It was a very small one by a plastic surgeon. The good news is, the scar was minimal and I have some front hairline for toppik that helped hide my balding. I will probably use toppik for rest of my life, but would like to stop using it in my frontal hairline and also have some hair in the crown to help hold on to the fibers. I am looking for coverage and illusion to have a decent hair coverage in my 40's. Using this website, I had my FUT surgery in early December 2015 with Dr. Keene. It was a 2 day procedure of 4100 grafts. The procedure was much more painful than my last one (probably around 500 or so grafts) due to number of injections required in the scalp over two days. Those were the most painful part of the procedure. Dr. Keene was excellent, as well as her staff. I drove from Phoenix and spent two nights in Tucson and then drove back the third day after Shampoo with the clinic in the morning. Was able to drive easily and had no issues or complications. Did not wash my hair for 9 days and just kept it moist every hour with Saline solution as instructed. Removed the sutures on 9th day in Phoenix - process was very smooth and not painful at all. Then had my first hair wash after removal. Gently scrubbed out the scabs over the next 2-3 days and by two weeks had a nice clean head. Started using Toppik after 20 days, not on a daily basis, but when I have important meetings, visits. Been using Toppik on an average of 2 days a week for the last 5 months and wash it off every evening. I have started Minoxidil twice a day from the 1 month mark, No tablets at this time. The implanted hair fell off in 3-4 weeks and new growth started around the 3 month mark. Thought will share my story as there are not too many Norwood 6 stories in the forum. I am cautiously optimistic at this time and as long as I can stop using Toppik on my hairline, and have some coverage on my crown on back for Toppik, I will be a happy camper. Attached are pre-op pics taken at the clinic before the surgery...
