  1. great detailed write up let us know how you get on , im considering dr bhatti too im currently going through lots of research and the good thing about him there is lots out there about him. sivy
  2. I feel for you buddy this is one of my biggest fears and wonder how many are really happy without having to go for the second pass ? anyway hang in there you never know the12 month mark things could be different , fingers crossed. sivy
  3. i think i agree ontop , not sure if 2000 is enough for density , and though dr bhatti quoted 2800 the recent work ive seen on here is making question what to do as there has been quite a few ive read who seem to be unhappy with density at the hairline which is important to me I will have to dig deeper to find results.
  4. here are my pics im not sure what kind of density would be possible in numbers but ive been told i have good donor hair as im 51 and the hair loss has slowed down some now as i first started in my late 20s i have no loss at the crown or back
  5. Hi im 51 with a norwood 3 which involves the usual look of high receding temples and the tuft of hair like an island in the middle. i have researched this forum and a few others and im still struggling with surgeon choice and really whether its worth it or not . there seems to be quite a few posts where people are disappointed with the growth at the temples, is this a very common ? it seems that density is difficult to achieve at the temples which obviously will result in a poor hairline. I have quite a dense tuft in the middle and i worry now that the temples would look noticeable if the density was too weak at the temples giving an unnatural look. I mean i keep hearing second pass but how common is this ? through my research i gathered that most the top surgeons use manual fue so maybe better yield? but anyway i cannot afford the high end but i want to avoid the technician mills so hear are the choices dr de reys - manual fue he quoted 2000 grafts which was the most conservative but i read a post on here where the patient with similar hairline had the same doubts 2000 Graft FUE by Dr De Reys in Belgium - Page 3 - Forum By and for Hair Loss Patients he is questioning his density albeit hes at 8 months , he dosnt seem to have much work to look at and i see hes not on the ishrs ? the next is hairlineclinic in turkey dr oztan manual fue they have quoted 2600 and seem to have some impressive work but again not on this forum and hard to find apart from one of the italian ones. dr bhatti motorised , he quoted 2800 seems to be alot of results but mainly indian and then there was the question of poor photos etc and there are again concerns over density at the hairline ? but im not sure now whether this is the same with all ? ive shaved my head bald for the moment but admit i dont like the look but will live with it if i have too . I dont mind going through the surgery and i know its a gamble but i was hoping these cases were a rarity and mainly patients have success restoring the hairline but its difficult to gauge the success percentage per surgeon ? also without having a second pass . I do think all of these have had good results but obviously only display there best results its a pity there wasnt data giving the success rate of the clinic as its easy to be misled by the forums anyhow whats the consensus on the surgeons im considering for hairline work any advise appreciated
  6. I think what concerns me is the same doctor has said 2000 grafts for my temples and i think im a little more gone than the original poster I know its a gamble anyway but even with choosing a surgeon who is meticulous and uses manual fue cant guarantee a good result , and i seem to see quite a few on here with weak growth on the temples so there could be a strong possibility ill be suffering months of a red head only to end up with a still a big difference between the temples and the tuft in the middle i have left? trouble is its hard to gauge what percentage of patients are successful
  7. Ontop he's at 8 months, if you think that only half of the grafts have taken then I would be concerned but as seen in most threads give it a year before your final judgment. Vegetaswidowspeak I'm following this as I'm about to book with Dr de reys and I have the same Norwood pattern and he has quoted the same number of grafts and I was a little concerned about the number and the area covered. One of my biggest concerns is I have a tuft in the middle and didn't want to end up with noticeable thin low density at the temples
  8. chris agreed this is probably one of the best on the net , the only thing that concerns me is the recommendation criteria ? and the supposedly unbiased posts on here from people working for a surgeon/clinic s interest .
  9. fella im really happy for you , you obviously made a sound choice and all the other factors were on your side . i hope to join you in the future , not liking the shaved look to be honest
  10. thank you justlax, I understand what you saying and i agree to some extent but the posts I was mainly referring to though were the ones where they get just past the ugly duckling phaze then disappear then its difficult to see what result they may have had sivy
  11. yes i have and ive had a few off here pushing him , but its my hairline thats the main problem but in a few of his recent results the patients were unhappy with the density in the frontal hairline, I believe i was told his hairlines are conservative ? I know im not going to get the density of real hair but Its the main reason im looking for fue as im a norwwood 3 .
  12. But how many patients do have good results, how can you gauge what percentage. It's amazing how many post straight after surgery then for the first few months then dissappear for some reason, supposedly to busy enjoying life etc then there's those who had a good result and obviously been pushed by the clinic to represent them, there's the not so good results where those supporting the clinics jump in to fudge over the opinions, then even a good result pops up from a technician mill. It all seems so variable, if a clinic is under a surgeon's name then he should do the work so you know what your getting when you pay your money otherwise how do you know who's doing the surgery if the tech /team leaves or changes, etc for example. unless they are named you don't know who you are getting so you are spending your money blindly. It looks like that the fue procedure relies on lots of variables /conditions being correct. Experienced hands precisely extracting, safely handling the grafts storing them correctly precise depth incisions, artistry in Flow and placement, your own body's ability to heal, stimulate growth etc I could go on, so when you are deciding to have the procedure done your aiming to minimize any risk to failure so the choice in the actual person performing the surgery is critical but it's so difficult if you cannot determine that. which is what's happening as you say even in the so called top clinics. I wish it was easier find what percentage of successfulo results come out of clinics but it's not because a lot of the information out there is obviously tainted.
  13. to be honest id go one further , ive worked in surgery in the nhs for 27 years , I would expect the surgeon to carry out all the important parts of the surgery anaesthesia, extractions , (critical for transection rates) incisions, overseeing the implantation. in surgery the techs /assistants are there to assist the surgeon not do the procedure unless they are medically qualified so why do we expect less when we are paying for it ?
  14. Hi Lorenzo I respect your points of view thank you for your reply I must say my budget gets me to the cheaper surgeons in Belgium and the best in Turkey but even their needs more investigation. I wouldn't consider going cheap as I do v Believe given the type of surgery precision and quality is key but this is compromised with the cheaper clinics. I've actually shaved my head but I'm one of the unlucky ones with a funny shaped head so will continue my search to find enough unbiased reviews with enough positive results to sway me. Sivy
  15. hi i was almost booking my flight to set off for a fue transplant (norwood 3) but after researching alot (on this site and others ) time and time again i see disappointed patients. It all seems such a gamble . quite a few are disappointed due to poor growth or lack of density and this is even from the top / recommended docs let a lone the minefield of sharks out there waiting to get you through a technician mill. Some even end up worse than before the surgery ? I know nothing is guaranteed in surgery but this fue procedure seems really hit and miss unless you are one of the lucky few who can afford the top surgeons or just one of the few with good genetics for recovery and growth . the other thing that pees me off is the biased clinic reps on here trying to sway your decision by always posting in the patient results trying to mask over any problems or big up a particular surgeon, its damn immoral. im going to give it more time but i will definitely not be giving my hard earned to anyone unless i can find enough unbiased , real and honest feedback. but where a site earns money its going to be difficult.
  16. thanks bill i agree , the only issue i had was that from dr yamans website and profile that states he does all the extractions thats why i considered him , it was posts from this forum which stated he used a technician to do some of the grafts. while that may be a practice abroad even in the high profile clinics for some , when you have made the decision to find a surgeon based purely on him doing all the work then its very disappointing to find misleading information. I must say at that now dr yaman has stated he would do all my extractions and it is more encouraging to hear from himself in that previous statement . personally i want the surgeon to do all the incisions I know most use assistance to put the transplants in later and thats fine but what i wouldnt want is finding out that the service is not what has been promised when im lying on a table after travelling so far and parting with hard earned cash. Its a big thing going to a foreign country for a surgical procedure and its only through information on forums like these and research that you can hopefully find the service you want.
  17. Dense dream no offense but I disagree with everything you are saying. The extractions are one of the most important parts. And especially using a motorized punch as more skill is needed due to lack of feedback. This potentially causing higher transection rates, damage to follicles etc. The motorized was developed for speed, eg more grafts. Yes somebody less skilled could do it, I could probably do it if I was shown but if it was me getting it done I would want the most experienced hands to utilize fully the precious limited amount of grafts I have. No it's not a heart transplant but it's a surgical procedure and if you have bad result this can be devastating for someone to live with as it's part of your personal appearance.
  18. maybe not for me then , im 51 and hair loss seems to have slowed over the last 10 years im a norwood 3 so would like to add density to my hairline, i think the hairline clinic is my first choice at the moment and im pretty sure ill be booking them im just trying out the bald look at the moment ive shaved right down its a bitof a shock so il see if i can get used to it and not give a f^&k but i dont think ive got a good shaped head for it ,
  19. dr de reys prices look good havnt heard much of him any forums got info on him eg patient feedback / have you found anything on him ? ill send him my photos and see what he reckons
  20. Mikeyhawk I mentioned I was a member on here and that I would share my experience and they were happy to do it at that price I was quoted for 2200 - 2600 grafts Hairynorwood have you a link to Dr de reys, I didn't find him when I looked at Belgium
  21. He agreed to do mine for 2.5 euro per graft as per another on this forum. For what they offer it seems like the best deal. But like all things until you try you never know. Transportation from airport clinic is free and they charge 40 euros for a room in their clinic. Their results look good but most of their feedback seems to be on Italian or German forums. Any operation is a risk so nothing is guaranteed, you have to make the best choice possible and hope you get what you have researched for. I agree that from my research at the moment the best surgeons tend to be manual, I mean if motorized was as good due to the speed and patient thru put they would all be using it. I'm not saying people haven't had a good result from motorized I just think there is more risk of the grafts being damaged and not growing so having a poorer result. But everyone has to make their own mind up
  22. Funny enough I thought that most quoted me 3000-3500 but Dr oztan quoted inline with the Belgium clinics 2200 - 2600 they're manual fue too so maybe that's it. But the most important thing is not the number of grafts but the number of grafts that survive and grow hair
  23. Just an update at the moment I think the hairline clinic is for me for what they offer eg all Dr's doing the work manual fue, experience price etc. Yes there are cheaper clinics but most are motorized and use techs. Yes there are other more well known surgeon's in Belgium etc but there's the big jump in cost. From what I've seen so far it looks like the best option. There seems to be a few not so happy results from the other surgeons mentioned, I know this can happen to any surgeon but it's difficult to tell if it's increased risk from motorized fue damage or other factors so to minimize all risks I'd rather go for what they have to offer for the price. I'm booking for October 7th and I'll feedback to this forum. So far comms have been good. Sivy
  24. I think I am going to book in for October just need to check price as someone on here said they had been quoted 2.5 euro not 2.7 I'll go through the Italian forum thanks for the link.
  25. Yes his name is ozgur oztan, the comms have been good they specifically said only Drs would be doing it Dr oztan and 2 others, out of all so far I've approached this is my favorite, I need to find the reviews on other sites though, the Belgium clinics will be 3 grand dearer for me I've considered Dr Bhatti but it needs more time due to the flights and also he uses motorized fue so not so keen. This is looking like my best option as for quality /cost location etc. I considered Dr yaman but the poor comms and finding out the assistant does the grafts put me off although they did say he would do my extractions he was much cheaper but motorized fue though it does say modified eg slower. Not sure how much motorized v manual affects the results to be honest but from what I gather I've seen quite a few on here all happy in the first few months then disappointed at 12 months due to very little growth. All the top surgeons seem to use manual fue and they have more consistent results. I believe it's a gamble as obviously some have good results even with the motorized, but I'd rather minimize the risk, at the end of the day the motorized version was only developed for speed not quality
