  1. Mostly, I just want a few days in Istanbul 🤣 Ive actually been away from this site for about 7 years! I just looked at my avatar and it's possible that I may only have slightly receded since then... But, I'll upload some more recent stuff and get opinions. Originally I went to feriundi (i hope I'm spelling that correctly) around 3 years ago and he said it wasnt needed. I emailed on my birthday THIS YEAR and it was around 12,000 euros... So, it seemed a little excessive. I have always worn my hair forward and very long, so its mostly just my own paranoia that makes me want to get it done... and, ya know, we live with these feelings and self loathing for our whole lives... if we can do something, why wouldnt we?!
  2. Hey man, this is very random but I've been scouring the forums of late, having decided that the receding has become a little more noticable. Wearing headbands onstage and when I go to the gym... Just turning 41... Its about time I made the move. I am still VERY MUCH on the "putting out feelers" stage, but I read your post on your chosen surgeon and saw you went for him. Your hairloss is VERY different to mine and so we are in different places as far as expectation and how densely i can pack an area (Im essentially a 1 and 2ish hairloss), but I have always had a high forehead (a five head, if you will) and its about time I went for it. Again, im not decided, but i came across your posts and just wanted to say that, considering the loss and the non use of fin etc I think its looking great. I'd start to just relax and enjoy it, at this point, if I were you. If you'd shown yourself a picture of your hair NOW to yourself BEFORE you had it done, you'd be crying with joy! Good luck with it all.
  3. I have to say I think whilst people still believe that the minox & fin combo work, there's very little that is needed, in terms of money revenue for big pharma. My guess would be that in a very distant future, baldness will be seen as a disease rather than a forgone effect of age... in which case more preventative measures will be in place, much the same as there are in other illnesses. I think, once your gair is going/gone, most of the underlying damage has been done. I agree the treatments that we have now will be somewhat refined, but I'm hoping by the time all that rolls around I'll have long since come to terms with it. To an outside eye I am probably acting a bit OTT, as I basically look like my hair is fine... It's still long, it still covers all my head and the recession can only really be seen under a rather close light... But that doesn't mean that the mental effects... the trolling through Web pages every night. The trying to find out that in fact it could be a mineral I'm lacking or some other type of treatable baldness... as I'm sure many have done. It just seems that there is a rather large community of people quite drastically affected by this. Even doctors etc seem reluctant to help or acknowledge it as an issue... Maybe they're right... I suppose it's hard to know, until it affects you. Anyways... good chat. Keep hoping, lads. The worst has already happened, so it can only improve ))

  5. This is very strange to stumble upon this post, realising it is only just shy of the 10 year mark you all spoke of, with very little new products on the market. Even now, there is still very little known and nothing really planned. I am 33 and have just begun to notice a thinning of my hair, so it's quite odd to read people from 2007 asking similar questions to me and wondering how their journey has been since then. Whether acceptance has been found and meanwhile still personally waiting on a decent treatment myself. There's talk of a fin topical solution being fairly close having made it through the first few phases, also talk of other possible drugs etc being around phase 2b... But very little else. A sobering post indeed
  6. Ok. Messaged someone on here and they told me im not yet a candidate for HT (which i wasnt really after yet) and, when pressed that i should go to my GP or local specialist for treatment. I visited doctor who wouldn't prescribe me propecia and has instead sent me for blood tests to rule out anything untoward. All local people want hundreds of pounds up front for propecia. I have more images attached. Until now I'd not noticed anything missing from crown, but now I'm not so sure... This seems to be a really rapid loss! I will start with regaine as it's readily available, but would like to start on propecia regardless of reported side effects.... I just don't know where I can get it, what dosage and how much I should be prepared to pay. So frustrating.
  7. Thanks so much, guys... What an awesome site. I think it is obviously more noticeable to me, as it is to us all when something about our person changes. Will post some pics up. Supposed to be going to belgravia centre, today... If I can get out of work on time. I've messaged one of the consultants on here that my friend spoke to. Looked up regaine, rogaine and the more generic based versions. Many people prefer the foam, it would seem... although I also hear that they work better for Crown issues and less for front of hair loss?! It seems to be a case of trial and error, as with so many things. Will post and update. Any recommendations would be appreciated. Thank you, again.
  8. Thank you so much for responding. Can I visit my local GP to discuss this, or will I need to go somewhere with specific hair specialists? The two products you've suggested were also suggested to me by a friend in a similar situation. I'd like to at least slow down the loss, if nothing else. Genuinely hit me quite hard today.
  9. There doesn't appear to be any loss on the crown etc. I will post some in sunlight and different angles, tomorrow. Thanks for responding.
  10. Hey there. Thanks for taking the time to read. Always had a full head of hair but also had a high hair line, same as my father's side. My dad still has full head of hear, despite the high hairline. His father was bald on top and don't remember a time he wasn't. I noticed I looked slightly different these last few weeks. Only when I was brushing my teeth with the light directly above my head did I notice that I could see the top of my head. I have chemically relaxed ny hair for years, without any problems and that could well be to do with it, but I'm convinced it has definitely thinned out. My profile picture is from just now and I will post some more below. I'd appreciate some opinions on whether I am thinning and whether this is MPB or if it could be something else. Any reputable hair specialists or any treatments would also be gratefully welcomed. Thanks again for your time.
